Problem getting back my pushmail after upgrading to WM6 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi,
As per the title... I have a problem getting back my pushmail after upgrading to WM6.
I am with SFR. I updated the ROm for the Radio and the whole WM. Went from WM5 to WM6 (3.23). Everything went well. except that when I reinstall the setting for the push mail with the small piece pf software coming from SFR, it doesn not download mail.
Account is created. Network connection is alive. Everything is fine except it does not work... lol
Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem, checked the activesync error code and found that push mail works when activating SSL encryption.
the error code I had was : 0x85010014

But I do not use Activesync to sync my mail. I use pushmail. Liveconnection. Maybe I do not understand your point.
Thanks.

When you say pushmail do you mean you have setup an account in activesync on the device??
Or "pushmail" is a 3rd party software package ??

This is a third party software but that is almost the only feature that worth to have that knif of phone. This is the same thing as a Blackberry mail system. But on a Microsoft OS.
I know we can set it up directly but it is not alwats alive.
So I use the SFR (The phone company) third party to do the job. It works throufh "Visto" company.
I create a network connection based on GPRS that stay connected with the phone company. The mail software is then able to stay connected as it would be for outlook through exchange. The diffrence is that my account is a pop3.
The service for SFR is provided through push.sfr.fr using Visto Technology.

Since the software is not designed for WM6 (it will have been designed for WM5) it may not work as intended. Unfortunatly you may have to wait until a newer version is available.

That is excatly the answer I was hoping not to receive ;-)
Thanks for your help.

I've isntalled the WM6 LVSW Edition 3.23, do you think it may change somehting If I try the others like the black one or the other?
I dont' really know the differences.

I would recommend upgrading to the latest version of LVSW, its based on a newer WM6 build.
To make sure you have all the recommended stuff on your phone follow my guide. This will make sure you have a fairly up to date device

Suggestion for Push mail
Check if the GPRS setting is wap.cingular or isp.cingular. When I upgraded to WM6, I had my GPRS switch to wap, and when I reconfigured it to ISP, my push mail started working fine again.
If you do not know, you can search for the GPRS configuration in this site.
All the best.

Thanks to alll of you.
I was able to get my mail but using the regular Internet account through the WM outlook. It is less efficient than with the live one.
I've alreayd used your guide with the 3.23 version. But it seems there is a new release every 2 days. I see the 27.3 is now out!
What the diffrences between
XDA Live v0.20.x
LVSW (27/3/2007)
VI Black Edition v1.2
Is that all different version of WM6? Should I hang on LVSW?
Thanks!

Can't find the setting about the WAP/ISP for gprs.
And about the upgrade for WM, it seems that I already have the latest.
IS there a new version that kept the same 3.23.0.2?
Thanks.

I'm also having no luck with the Visto software since updating to wm6. It installs fine and seems to run as it always did, even down to it connecting to push.vodafone.net and saying "connected" and displaying my mailbox name. The problem is emails just aren't getting through!
Also, if I go to the mailbox in the messaging program and try to select "New" it just pauses for a long time and doesn't open a new message so I can't try sending messages.
Any ideas? it seems to be almost entirely working, I'm sure there's some configuration that can be done to fix it?

I found a fix!
A new version not-really-yet-released of the SFR Push Mail software. As soon as I did a clean uninstall / install it connnected ans start to download mail!

Where did you get that version from? Is it the standard Visto software? What version is it?
Thanks.

Got it from the Visto support in Paris. the version is ni my signature. This is the Visto software but for SFR only.
If you are stuck without the real push mail, don't forget you can use a regular pop config on your WM outlook using the Internet connection from your GPRS. It is just not as good as the real tool.

The problem is that my 3G/GPRS data is limited whereas the push mail data is unlimited, including attachments. So push is my only real option.

Does anyone know if there is an actual WM6 device on the market yet that I could say to Visto I'm using?

Hi,
I'm having the same problema as you. Upgraded my Tytn to Windows Mobile 6 (LVSW 26-03-2007 version) and now my Visto push email software does not retrieve any email (I have Vodafone Real Mail Service in Spain based on Visto solution).
The service is the same as SFR in France (and others). Please, could you post your application so I can download and use it (I don't mind having it in french).
Thanks and regards

To all,
Please contact me directly if you want to get WM6 compatible VISTO soft for your PPC.
Just tell me exactly what is your OpCo (VF ES, VF ITA, SFR, etc...) and your GSM number.
Regards,
gvernot.

I need PUSH email from my company email account HOW??????

Hi
I think title says most of it.
I need push email from my companies corporate email system.
We have a Blackberry server but I have yet to find a working Blackberry client for the Wizard?
On my old PDA2K I have been using Smartner Duality which worked great HOWEVER this does not seem to be compaitble with the Wizard so suddenly I have lost my email capability and need to get it back urgently.
Any ideas out there folks?
Cheers.
Robin
PS Smartner client on my desktop in the office used to 'forward' all my outlook mail via a special server they had and thence to my PDA2K.
It is this kind of functionality I am lookiing to replace UNLESS someone actually has the Blackberry client software!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for MS's push you'll need to wait for a ROM update with AKU 2.0
for the time being you can just set your wizard to sync with your exchange server over the net (wifi/gprs etc) every x minutes
You can try vgsmail by geoffreycross to be found in the thread 'push-email now available' it's developed for 2003 & there are posts by yzzard to get working under 2005 as well. Need to add some reg.keys manual.
Cheers, M

My company is running a REAL OLD version of Exchange server and our Firewall will not allow PDA's to connect!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately this is not an option for me.

Hi
I don't think we have IMAP enabled on our mail server and I would still haev a firewall problem so this won't work for me either.
Robin
Do they support the imap protocol? if so try vgsmail.
Sorry didn't catch your last post, forget this one pls.
I doubt they actually block PDAs since Activesync just runs over port 80 and the mail apps just use standard mail ports. More likely they don't have the appropriate software set up to active sync. Sounds like you might be better off waiting until the next ROM updates (Rumors put it as close as this week, but deffinetly before the end of Q1 this year) and possibly looking into a hosted exchange solution and having your work email forward there.
Robster,
I don't know if Vodafone offers the same thing as T-Mobile here in the states but see if they have corporate email access available, T-Mobile does and it works ok, similar to Smartner (i used that when I was running 2003SE) it works on my network and it is really locked down from outside access and they have disabled pop and imap access plus we are running Lotus Notes (man it sucks)

DirectPush - Send, Recieve Folders - but no email!!

Hi,
I have setup Direct Push on our Exchange servers and setup my Qtek 9100 to DirectPush from it.
I recieve the folder structure
It tells me how many emails need downloading
I can SEND emails
But it doesnt bring any emails down!!
Can anyone help??
Email
I seem to be having this EXACT same issue. I cannot figure out what is failing.
Hmmm.. I am not at all sure, but I have an idea. If you go to activesync on the phone, and then go to configure server (under the menu right softkey), and then hit next and next again, you should see the screen with the things you are syncing... contacts/calendar/email/taskes, ect... If you then click on email, the settings button sould un-grey. Click settings. Change "Include the previous" and "limit email size" to "all", and then hit the "ok" in the upper right corner, and then finish. Hit the left softkey for sync, and it should get all of your email from the server... I have no way of knowing if this is indeed your problem, but I thought it may be worth a try... I would be interested to know if it works!
I have seen someone with exactly the same problem which I couldn't solve.
Are you by any chance running Microsoft SmallBusinessServer 2003 and Microsoft ISA 2004 :?:
Eman
We are running ISA Server...
Does everyone have this problem with Qtek or is it universal? I was going to try update ROM because you cant change account settings once you put them in, they grey out! But the ROM on Qtek seems a lower number than that I have installed... and Im not entirely sure what a ROM update does.
I have selected ALL on everything, just the number of emails to download increases... say 500 it displays 0/500 then 125/500 then disappears, still no email or anything!!
Just tried updating ActiveSync to 4.2 on a HP 6915...
Same problem...!!
HELP
Issues
Ok, here is what I've learned (which isn't much) so far:
I'm using a T-Mobile MDA with the stock firmware. I am trying to connect to Exchange Server 2003. I've seen the server options grey out as well, but the trick I've used is to configure the server options in Active Sync on the pc you have it connected to. The Windows Mobile version of Active Sync doesn't seem to play as nice at times.
Starcruzier--
Thanks for the suggestion, but I have tried that as well. I actually went through the same steps with a T-Mobile SDA on trial as well. When I do the steps that you outlined on both devices, I actually pull down all the mail...but I get no new messages as they come (and I did configure the SMS to send "As they arrive".
I'm starting to think this is more of an issue with either Active Sync, Exchange, or how T-Mobile handles push email from Exchange.
I honestly dunno about qtec, I have a T-mobile MDA. I am running rom version 2.26.10.WWE (just upgraded...) and I am using the Microsoft Direct Push (no SMS required... ) What rom are you using, and are you using the direct push or the SMS method (as I believe they work differently...) You can get the rom I have from a link in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=57554
although it is customized for T-mobile....
Question
I have a T-Mobile MDA as well. Star...did you get push email working with the stock ROM on the device?
Nope, when I got it push email was not supported by the default rom, and so I upgraded. I recently got a new one because the old one broke, but I believe that I upgraded this one before I tried to setup the push, so I dunno if it is supported by the default rom, or how well this works... hope this helps...

That's easy to find out - in ActiveSync on the device, set the schedule to "as items arrive". If you've got AKU2 on the device, it should NOT ask you for a unique device address.
You can also make sure by going into settings > system > about; my OS shows as "OS 5.1.195 (Build 14955.2.3.0). Afaik, that means I have AKU 2.3 on the device. You need at least AKU 2 for DirectPush to work. Oh, and Exchange 2003 SP2 on the server.
Did everyone else just setup DirectPush and recieve emails straight away, or is it just me with the problem?
Does ISA effect it??

If you get the folder structure, ISA should not be the problem. And yes, DirectPush works right away; if you have AKU 2.x on the device and when connecting to the server it determines that the server supports DirectPush, it should work at once.
Of course, DirectPush can be disabled in the Exchange System Administrator console. That would explain the effects you are experiencing.
Do you mean the tickbox 'Enable DirectPush' in Exchange Manager?
This is enabled on the Front End and main Exchange servers..

Yes, that's the one I meant. Did you increase the timeout on the ISA server to 1800 seconds (30 minutes)? Does it work with other Windows Mobile devices? Does your mobile operator maybe not support persistent connections?
I have just set this for Outgoing and Incoming to 1800.
Tried my PDA and it still does the same thing, shows me how many it needs to download (which is nice) and then decides not to download them.
Vodafone (provider) tell me as long as Internet APN is active, which it is, it should be fine.

Somewhere in ActiveSync, you can set the debug level to "verbose". Does it tell you any more when you set it that way? Also, on the backend Exchange Server (where your mailbox resides), check the entries in the IIS Log (%systemroot%\system32\Logfiles\w3svc1\exYYMMDD.log - assuming it runs in the default Web Site, else w3svc1 will be something else). Do you have IIS Lockdown installed on the server? What happens if you sync manually, does that work? In the settings of the user (Active Directory Users and Computers), are the Exchange features pertaining to Active Sync activated?
I have set this to Verbose, cant see any effects of it though..?
If I sync manually, it tells me what there is to download, doesnt download them, then goes again and does 0/1 on everything. And ends seemingly normal bringing nothing down.
I have lots of log entries relating to the GET and PROPFIND from ActiveSync in the log but I cant see anything displaying a problem.. everything seems to be communicating but just not bringing down the emails..
User Enabled Syncronisation is set against the user on AD.

After enabling verbose and trying one sync, what does it show when you hit "view status" in ActiveSync? Also, is it possible that you have policies in Exchange 2003 in place and your device is not compliant (e.g. no/too short password)?
Ive tried Verbose and no error is displayed, everything ends normal on Sync.
It is strange that you can send emails from the device no problems, so I assume the device is compliant. I have tried a HP PDA and have the same problem.

BlackBerry Connect (BBConnect) for Wizard (T-Mobile MDA)

Hi,
Maybe I am beating a dead horse but could somebody please help me with these questions about BBConect.
Device: T-Mobile MDA with ROM version 2.26.x
Questions:
1. What are the advantages of using BBConnect (other than receiving emails from BB Servers)
2. Where does it write emails to (Outlook Inbox or any designated folder)?
3. If I use BBConect can I still use ActiveSync to synchronize with other Outlook Inbox folders?
4. I have seen somewhere that the WAP proxy needs to be changed: How does it affect other apps like T-Zones? Can I still connect to the Internet using GPRS?
5. How easy is it to install, configure & operate BBConnect?
Also if somebody could give a step-by-step install guide (all pdfs I downloaded are not in English), that will really help out.
Thanks in advance.
Before answering, I can tell you that rom 2.26 and the current BB connect client do not work. You will have to use a different rom. For me, based on postings on teh forum, qtek 2.17 and cingular radio 2.25 work well.
Now to your questions:
1. What are the advantages of using BBConnect (other than receiving emails from BB Servers)
replacement for bberry service and device. if your company has a BES server, you can now use your MDA to get corpoarte email. (I do not believe it works with blackberry internet service)
2. Where does it write emails to (Outlook Inbox or any designated folder)?
designated folder
3. If I use BBConect can I still use ActiveSync to synchronize with other Outlook Inbox folders?
yes
4. I have seen somewhere that the WAP proxy needs to be changed: How does it affect other apps like T-Zones? Can I still connect to the Internet using GPRS?
yes. BBerry will use a different connection. My MDA deals pretty well with switching from one connection to teh other (automatically)
5. How easy is it to install, configure & operate BBConnect?
if you have the right ROM, pretty easy. see the other posts on teh forum. But you can't6 use rom 2.26 yet.
Thanks for the answers.
I guess I will wait for T-Mobile to update the ROM.
I am not against running other ROMs, it is just that I have bricked couple of devices and wasted too much time to get the data back.

Is there any option to have blackberry and MSN Messenger simultaneusly connected?
not really: they use different GPRS access point.
I know this thread is dead for some time, but I would like to get ne1fl0w5 wave here.
I have a Qtek 9100 from Claro (Telmex Brazilian sub). It was running 2.22.17.1 PTB ROM and 2.46.11 radio rom. First tried all BBConnect clients available (they were many). All installed but would halt at "Not connected" after first provisioning of the device and connection through GPRS/EDGE. After duly CIDunlocking the Qtek at imei-check (mine is a G4, I forgot to mention), I took a deep breath and decided to give it Vodafone's ROM a shoot.
I followed these instructions and managed to make it work.
Now, to your questions:
Questions:
1. What are the advantages of using BBConnect (other than receiving emails from BB Servers)
First of all, I have to say that I find (or thought, at first) BB email services excelent, but the devices really bad. Those little keys are small even for my 9-month old baby. Besides that, that trackwheel will certainly cause repetitive stress injuries. I used for less than a day and my arm started aking (please, don't say I am fragile) In addition, it was not made for lefties such as me. And the 8700g does not have an efficient cursor (for instance, if you are to delete a letter in the beggining of a line (or two words before the cursor), you would have to delete everything and retype the text.
For those reasons, I prefer the Qtek...
As per the system itself, I have to say that emails are delivered really fast to each of them. In Blackberry connect, the calendar items are also syncronized correctly as well. However, it did not sync my contacts (and it is probably not meant to), as opposed to the Blackberry device, in which both were available.
2. Where does it write emails to (Outlook Inbox or any designated folder)?
Designated folder. You can chose which server folders you want sync'd as well.
3. If I use BBConect can I still use ActiveSync to synchronize with other Outlook Inbox folders?
Yes. However, BBConnect uses a dedicated GPRS connection and it will compete with Outlook for the radio. You will probably have issues if you are looking for concurrent exchange push functionality.
4. I have seen somewhere that the WAP proxy needs to be changed: How does it affect other apps like T-Zones? Can I still connect to the Internet using GPRS?
Whenever you connect to do anything else, your BB connection will be lost.
5. How easy is it to install, configure & operate BBConnect?
It was hard to install all Roms required to make it work, but once you have this part finished, it is very easy to get things going.
Also if somebody could give a step-by-step install guide (all pdfs I downloaded are not in English), that will really help out.
The post above gives you all the directions (except for creating the blackberry.net connection, which is not necessary).
Sorry for the lenghty (and completely out of time) post, but I would like to share this with you.
Also, I would like to say that I was not very impressed with the way things eventually got working. first thing I noticed was that the reconciliation with the server was not complete. For instance, read messages did not display as such at my server, only at the device. In addition, the BB service uses lots of storage and memory.
In the end, I prefered my Qtek 2.22 rom (much faster to load) and much better loking style. Because of all this, I have just reverted to Qtek's rom and decided to go with email redirection to an external exchange sp2 account. Although we have that in the office, they have high security standards (but forgot to prevent email redirections).

BB Connect on WM6
Blackberry is running smoothly in Universal with WM6 Rom all thanks to c0rnholio. He figured out a way to change the string that will work through decoding>changing>encoding and flashing and finally a small aku registry change.
I was wondering if same thing can be done with wizard.
Here is how-to from c0rnholio
I managed quite easy to get BB Connect running (for company email via BES).
I had the 2.24 (Mr Clean) OS ROM, 2.24 Bootloaders and 2.25.11 Congular Radio. I knew that would not support BB.
I took the OS and ExtROM from the QTek 2.17 package, changed the pagepool to 8MB (BB was said to be a memory consumer), repacked them to a new nk.nbf (with only OS and ExtROM), upgraded, installed BB Connect 2.1.2.31 (downloaded from the Vodafone.de website) and voila!
By just following the Blackberry Connect tutorial (also downloaded from vodafone.de) I had it going.
Good to know:
-I did this exercise after I received my Blackberry device from my employer (I was happy with the functionality, not with the device). So I was sure that the BB functionality was Ok for my company email account.
-When I generated the key for my PDA PIN the Blackberry device was no longer functional (I can think of reasons why).
-I did not have to use the SIM I have in the Blackberry device, in my PDA I am still using my Voice SIM (which also has a data plan)
Hi
I'm also working on getting BBconnect to work with the newer roms. I managed to get it to work with the latest Tmobile rom 2.26. But Crossbow still no luck.
I looked at the solution for changing the strings, but unfortunatly the strings mentioned are not in the crossbow rom...so can't change them (I guess they're different?).
I have contacted Faria; he seems to have a way to tweak the system so that it will work. He's currently on holiday but as soon as I have some info I'll post it here.
Did you try to get it to work on the latest aku3.3 rom?
now works
I've got it now working on all roms...including Crossbow. There is a detailled explanation in the developing forum that shows how to change the rom for BBconnect to work.
Is there an easy way to do this?
I am not a complete newbie, but I am certainly no expert in hex editing, so I was wondering if there is an wasy way to make it work on other Wizard ROMs, including the Brazilian provider I am hooked with.
Currently I am using Tmo's ROM, but there are a lot of features in this ROM I do not use and that take lots of space...
Thanks
Hacking isnt that difficult, it's just that you need to understand how it works.
The thread in Development & Hacking says it all.
I think (just have to dare to flash the hacked os now!) I managed to hack the official AKU3.3 WWE ROM.

BlackBerry Connect does not work with AKU 3.3

Hi all,
This is just to note that BlackBerry Connect 2.1 (which was working fine with AKU 2.3) doesnot work with AKU 3.3 - RUU_Hermes_HTC_WWE_2.05.255.1_6275_1.34.00.10_108_Test.exe
Anybody tried it ?
Yeah - found the same problem here too. Running BB Connect 2.1.2.16 and aku 3.3, but no joy. Its a real pain cos 3.3 fixes the crappy BlueTooth car kit issues, so now I can call hands free without recsetting the headset profile, but no email!
Have you tried a later BB Connect version. I'm using 2.1.2.31 on my v1605 with the SA 1.35 ROM and 1.20 Radio.
I can't remember where I got the later version from but I thought it was from a link posted on here..... needless to say I can't now find it!
I guess I could upload it if it's not available anywhere else.
Scratch last comment. Someone has kindly uploaded 2.1.2.52 to /Hermes/Tools_and_Programs/BlackBerry_Connect/
.... and it seems to work with AKU 3.3.
John
I can confirm this too - just got it from the ftp and it works a treat!
I finally love my TyTn now - BlackBerry, (working) BlueTooth for the Audi kit, Tom Tom - schweet!

Yes , it does. I use it now with Cingular ROM. Which ROM do you use ?

However I have not tried all sort of combination (variation of ROM + Radio combination).

This is a mail client. Mostly used for a corporate environments.
this is what blackberry's use im guessing? interesting. is it a better client than the outlook or active sync? i have my gmail and my corp exchange accounts setup through outlook and active sync. though my company says it will not support it. as they only support blackberrys. thanks.
I am thinking about trying BB Connect out but I have a few questions.
What items does BB connect sync? Is it just email, calender, and contacts? Does it do tasks and notes?
Does it replace the Outlook inbox or does it create a new inbox? Does it make the device any less stable? Can you still browse the web just like you can when you are on a PDA connect plan?
Sorry for all the questions.

1) At the moment, I notice BB Connect only push your corporate email down
2) It will create a separate Blackberry Account Folder with Inbox/sent/deleted items etc , will not overlap into your outlook folder
3) Its quite stable.
4) I need other's confirmation on this, It seems like cannot browse the web if BB Connect is activated (via GPRS or UMTS), the PIE and other client will keep trying and cause the GSM Modem redial ? Does it true that Internet browsing cannot co-exist with BB Connect ? Do we need to suspend BB COnnect in order to browse ? I found it quite annoying because I can connect to Yahoo IM, browse web and receiving push mail at the sametime on my BB 7290.

I was on the Dopod AUS site earlier and noticed that along with a number of other Apps & Games that Dopod have released a version of Blackberry Connect 4.0 for PPC along with the ActiveSync BBConnect Desktop Setup application.

ActiveSync_BBConnect_Desktop_Setup_4.0.0.17.exe
bbconnect_pocketpc_bb_4[1].0.0.67.cab
bbconnect_pocketpc_bb_4[1].0.0.67.exe
BBCWM Quick Start Provisioning Guide.pdf
BlackBerry Connect 4.0 ppc user guide english.pdf
They do also specifically mention its for WM5 however with their WM6 release pending who knows it may work on WM6 as well. Heres the link to download from Megaupload: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GBSZ8FQH
Filesize: 24.19 MB
Cheers!
(and yes i know i misspelled Dopod in the title but it wouldnt let me go back and edit the post title :S)
thanks a lot for posting this one....yummy...going to try it on my 8525
Its very kind of you to share this. I am downloading it now. I thought that the Nokia E90 would be the first device to use BBC 4 but looks like Dopod beat them to it. Will install in on my Dopod 838 pro. They have not post it on the Asia site. Glad you manage to download it first as it may have been accidently been leaked. Lets see what BBC 4 have in store.
Once again thank you very much.
works on black 2.0
Well, I just installed on my 8525 running Black 2.0 WM6 version (I am on Cingular USA)....It seems to work fine with my BES and BIS emails...I love that it now syncs contacts, tasks and notes as well....Great!
Can't get the client to connect on Treo 750.
Any suggestions?
I called Cingular and told them I wanted Blackberry connect.
YES! Finally. REAL Blackberry on the PPC. I'm using mine with WM6 Black 2.0 and it works perfectly! Sync Contacts, Tasks and Notes now along with being able to do Enterprise Activation! Now I have no need to keep my RIM device around!
pin to pin
i imagine there still is no pin to pin yet so not really quite bb yet but gettin there, needs pin 2 pin then will be complete. but then maybe there is i could only hope.
This only works with blackberry sim and data plan right??

So besides the ability for our coporate Lotus Notes / BES admins to enforce policies, make me enter password every hour, shut my PPC down , enterprise activation, syncing contacts, tasks and notes and to view picture attachments what would be another appealing reason for me to upgrade from BBC 2.X ?
Have anyone installed BBC 4.0 on LVSW 0429 ROM or Black 2.5 ROM yet ?
TIA
well
i tried it on my universal running wm6
and god i got stuck on boot screen and even a hard reset not working for me
anyone please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been running BB Connect 2.blah.blah.54 for some time so it took me almost 6 installs on my Jasjam before the installation worked. Each previous time it installed and then uninstalled itself. I ended up having to copy the .CAB to my memorycard and then installed/reboot, installed/reboot until it stuck.
My company runs a BES and, using the desktop client, I was up and running in no time at all.
And why, you may ask, would I want to upgrade to all that security???
Because my carrier meters internet data separately to blackberry data and BB Connect 2 did not include a browser. So now I have a FREE!!!! browser access, not only to the internet, but my corporate network as well.
I hate to shout but...THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING
I'm having issues installing the desktop application. It installs all the way through (I even see the files in the destination directory for a split second) after which everything is removed again..... No clue what that is about. Tried to unpack the .msi file within the installer but no luck.
So I can't activate the client through my PC/Network.
Tried wireless OTA activation instead, where you have to enter your mail address and a password. You see two e-mails being sent by the device/rim server that are used for the activiation but the device doesn't seem to activate. Could it be the password needed for activation is different from the exchange password?
Strange.
It must not like the Treo 750's ROM.
I have tried 2 different SIMs both out of Blackberry 7290s. One from Cingular and one out of a T-Mobile device.
I'm stumped. It goes from "Network Available" to Data Tunnel Found" to "Not Connected".
Update: Tried the Vodafone ROM too with no luck.
Blackberry connect and browser
Managed to get the BB Connect 4.0 version running on the Black 2.0 build. AN earlier poster commented on getting the blackbeery browser to work. I did not seem to get any browser applicvation installed, do I need to do some additional config to get this up and running. I thin kI have all the service books listed.
Any help much appreciated
Thanks
Andy

Me too, but even when it appears to install properly, I can't find it in programs or settings. The 2.xx.xx versions always put a shortcut in System Settings.
Any suggestions? I'm running Black 2.0 (WM6).
Edit: Never mind, it seems to be working now!
After installation there was a Blackberry icon in the settings. This needed to be run first for initial config. After that I had a blackberry icon in my programs list that contains a browser link.
