This seems like a pretty basic function to me - press the BT call button and have it initiate the VSD. Is there a way to get this to work?

i have an HTC wizard with WM5 and i am using a plantronic bluetooth headset that works great except that when i press the button on the headset i cannot make the phone activate the windows built in voice dialing. The button works fine to comnad the phone to hang up ans answer a call. does anyone know ho to have the bluetooth headset button activate the builting voice dialing ?
Hold that same button in that you use to answer/hang up until you hear a beep. Then you will see your phone switch to the voice dialing screen and you will hear one more beep. After that just speak the command you want to execute and the system will re-play the command back to you if it recognizes it. Works great on my 640!
I installed and uninstalled the JETware Hands-free Extension and since doing so voice dialling via Bluetooth has stopped working.
If I press the voice dial button on my BT carkit (Parrot CK3200) it now launches the phone app, and not the voice dial up.
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceDialer\Path] is set to \WINDOWS\sddialer.exe
Pressing the Voice Dial button on the handset launches voice dialer.
So it is just the bluetooth command which is wrong. Any ideas how to fix it?
Don't know if it will help but the attached cab file sorted out my voice dialling over btooth - couldn't find the thread I got it from so you may want to search it out before trying it.
I installed Cyberon Voice Speed Dial on my Omnia, but not CAN initiate voice call by bluetooth. I have to trigger the application on the handset screen for a shortcut and then the call is transferred to the headset. The strange thing is that if the call comes in, that is, upon receipt of the call, I usually attend the headset. However I noticed that when you release 'button on the bluetooth headset a little more length, something like 01 seconds, fires the standard dial pad. So if you drive a bluetooth program on PPC, I think is missing only the direct action triggered by the program for bluetooth voice dialing (Cyberon), that is, assign to the bluetooth function to activate the program Cyberon Speed Voice Dial. However, if the key bluetooth is already pressing the dial pad Samsung's standard, and opens the microphone bluetooth, what is missing in my understanding, it would redirect (change) the action of the button the program you want.Se PC, I would say that would be only a matter of changing the shortcut target .. but if in the PPC do not know how .. someone help me please?
Hi Aureo,
You try to install JETware Hands-Free Extension v1.31, under menu>advance config>tick on voice dial, tqvm
Thanks, I did this, but the "voice dialing" is not enabled on my device. Displays a message (No voice dialing ...). I do not know what to do, was my good old HTC Diamond that worked all right .. but the screen I8000 is wonderful, so I insist.
FroYo finally implements BT dialing (ability to initiate a voice dialer using BT button). However it seems badly broken on my phone: when I initiate a call through BT, the audio is no longer routed through it. The phone thinks it is connected to BT (the bt button is toggled), however the audio comes from the internal earpiece.
I have both Voice Dialer and Voice Dialer HF installed, and it's the same with both of them. When I initiate a call not through BT, but from N1 itself, everything works fine.
Does anyone else have this problem?
No, it works as expected for me: everything is just the same, regardless of whether I dial the call on the phone or use the bluetooth voice dialing.
I got the Epic 4G on the 31st, but out of the box I can't seem to get voice dial or voice search working. I'll click on voice dial and it will say "listening" but it doesn't really hear anything. Eventually, it just times out and says "try again". The same goes for voice search. It prompts me with "Speak now" but eventually times out and says "No Speech Heard". It's as if the mic isn't working. But I don't think there's anything wrong with the mic because I can have phone conversations without any problems. So, I don't think it's a hardware problem. It seems like this is some kind of bug in the software. I don't see any settings for these apps that I can modify. Anyone else having the same problem? Any suggestions for fixing?
Nevermind
I seem to have figured out the problem. If I turn off my bluetooth headset, the voice search and voice dial work. Apparently, it cuts off the mic on the phone when a headset is paired. I'm a little disappointed because Voice Command on my windows mobile devices didn't have this problem. If I initiated voice command on the phone, the mic on the phone would still work. If I initiated voice command from my headset, it enabled the mic on the headset.
I see no options in Android to initiate voice search or voice dial from the headset. Since I normally have a headset paired at all times, I guess I can't use these apps. Bummer.
Coming from winmo, I have to say that the only thing I miss and the only thing that winmo did better than android is voice dial. Android voice dial, even in froyo and even with Vlingo does not give you a true hands free experience because you cannot initiate it without launching the program from the screen, and it will not confirm by voice -- you have to confirm with a screen press or cross your fingers and let it autodial. Very disappointing.
Disoppointed with voice recording/dialing.
I sure was hoping that 2.2 would fix the voice dialing also. This may make me take the phone back before the 30 days are up. The voice MEMO is also a problem. Go to notes and try to do a voice memo...it's hit or miss and when you do see the mic recording, it will only record for a few seconds and then a screen comes up that says it cannot connect to the server. What's up with that. Very disappointed with the voice recording/dialing features of this phone.
