Dopod U1000 Battery Meter - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

Does any of you notice the weird behavior of Athena Battery Meter. The meter only indicates the reduction of power bar for every 10% battery consumption. That is I only have 100%, 90%, 80% ..... 50% and so on of battery indication. There is no more precise battery level indication anymore. Does any of you have the same problem?

I noticed the same on my T-Mo Ameo.

yep, I noticed it too

Just like my Tytn; My one is the same

Battery Woes & UMTS Observations

Battery Woes with 3200mah Extended Battery
I've purchased a 3200mah Extended Battery and the battery meter seems to be weird. The battery charges fine up to 100% and drains perfectly normal. However, at around 30%, the Low Battery Notification pops up and after around 2-3 minutes, the battery meters shows 2-5% of juice left.
Any suggestion on what I should do? Is the battery faulty or is something wrong with the calibration of the metre? I used to have this problem when using extended batteries with my IIs (Blue Angel).
UMTS Observation
I noticed when you connected the Universal to the wall charger, the signal strength will be stronger as compared to when the Universal runs on battery. I suspect the chip decrease its transmit power while running on battery so as to save juice.
Anyone can comfirm?
anyone have any ideas?
Where did you buy your battery? How long before you noticed this problem? Was it like that ever since you bought it or could it be another memory effect problem (plugging usb when battery is half full)?
I got my battery from a retail shop in my country. It states 'Dyna' on it, and i presumed it is legit, following a line writing 'Made in Japan, Assembled in Taiwan'. If i'm correct, the original battery is also manufactured by Dyna.
I first noticed the problem the very first time my battery drains. I did another test yesterday, and the battery drains linearly to 19%, the warning 'Main Battery Low' appears and it shuts down, not rebooting even when i press the soft reset.
However, when i plug in the AC source, the battery meter shows 2%. Where did the 19%-2%=17% of battery go to??
I doubt it is a memory effect, as I've done a few complete drain and the problem persisted.
There probably is an inherent problem with the battery... is that still under warranty? maybe you can have it replaced... good luck!

Battery meter inaccurate or miracle-battery ?

I bought a new HTC P3600 2 weeks ago.
It went with WM5 but I flashed it to WM6 (US AX3L 2.0.8.1 ROM).
I installed all my applications, and tested everything (phone, camera, GPS, WiFi...etc).
=> Wonderful ! Everything works as it should (a little miracle !)...
But: the only thing I noticed (I don't know if it's a bug) concerns the battery meter.
I'm using SPB Pocket plus to display the meter on the Today screen, but the "internal" WM6 system battery meter displays the same value, so, the problem doesn't come from SPB PP.
When I unpacked the device (coming from the factory), the battery was showing 40% of charge. After 2-3 hours, it climbed to 100%. Fine.
But since, it's ALWAYS showing 100% !!!
2 possibilities:
- the battery management is excellent and it doesn't loose much power. Strange, because phone, GPS or WiFi are usually power-consuming applications, and my old HP iPaq hx2410 was easily loosing 10% by quarter hour of heavy use...
- the battery meter is inaccurate.
Just one time, I noticed (after having worked on battery during the day, and after a soft-reset), the meter was showing 90%. I connected the USB cable, and after some minutes (too short in my opinion to charge the missing 10%), the meter was at 100% again.
So, it's like if the meter was only moving by 10% steps.
Therefore, when it's striclty over 90%, it show 100%, whatever it's really at 91% or at 99%. When it shows 90%, that should then mean the power is between 81% and 90%.
Strange behaviour. It's the very first PDA I know acting like this !
Is it just an impression or is it the reality ?
Can't I improve the meter precision ?
Thanks in advance.
The battery meter does move in 10% increments on this device,
Cheers,
Danny

battery metter unreliable

i have noticed that the battery metter is completely unreliable
for example it shows 28% left (btw, i installed FInixNOverBattery for percentage indication) and after a soft reset it shows 41%
or it shows 50% and after soft reset it shows 31%
in this way i can never estimate how long the battery will last
does anybody faced this issue? any solution fot it? (i also tryed to calibrate by completely drain the battery followed by complete charge withe the device turned off)
thank you in advance!
noris08,
it is completey normal to experience big jumps in % after a reboot. The battery % is just a representation of the actual voltage of the LiPoly battery, which usually recovers (rises) quite a bit when there is no load on the battery (even for a short time).
maybe what you say it is true, but i never experienced this behaviour with any of my previous phones. and i had a few, including wm for a few years
and variations of 10-15% - i find them too big
I noticed the same thing. Any explanation for this? Or it is just that FInixNOverBattery is not reliable/compatible/accurate ?
Voltage may vary/jump around due to environmental changes and power consumption or voltage sensor may be insufficiently accurate to provide reliable voltage readings for 1% steps. This is one of the reasons why many battery drivers in WM only provide remaining charge percentage in 10% steps.
In this light, voltage on its own is not a sufficient indicator of remaining charge percentage. Other parameters, such as voltage deviation and other factors, such as power consumption and temperature may need to be taken into account to obtain a more accurate evaluation.

1-2% discharge of X1 battery after removing it from charger?

Ever since I have had my X1 then I charge my X1 eventough it says 100% in the display, then I remove it from the charger it suddenly says 98%.
Whats up with that??
The modded battery driver is not accurate at high percentages. Your Battery isnt discharging. The displayed percentage is not 100% true .
Just plug your phone again for several minutes and it should display 100%

SPV M3100 battery status

Hello,
Sir like many others, I too have a battery problem with my SPV M3100
The battery always shows it's status in the 10s. Which means like..
90%, 80%, 70%, ...
It never shows up something else then tens which is not really good.
The second problem. If the battery is 100% charged, I open WIFI in few seconds it will drain to 90% and 80% and then 70%.. It drains really very fast. I know that WIFI eats up the battery but not like 10% in 1 minute???
Third problem, If I keep my mobile 100% battery on stand by mode and I don't get a call. After 24 hours I go and see it will show and battery left 100%. But if I go and do a small task in mobile, it will drain like 30% in once. That is quite ammazing I have never played on music so can't say how much it drains while playing music on hands free.
Overall on standby mode, the battery lasts like 3 to 4 days. But if you use it for even a small thing, it drains really fast and battery was dead.
Please help, I think this all is not normal, Radio version can be the reason of this???
Thank you very much
Faisal
i have too this problem, if you find any way for solve this plz help me
I have the same problem..
Even when I go online with GPRS/3G/UMTS/HSDPA..
Does the problem come from the battery?
My battery has UTSTARCOM text on the battery. How about you?
EDIT : You need to flash a ROM with a 1% increment fix, it's because the stock/official ROM has 10% increment battery meter, I don't know why.. And my battery drains very fast because I have over-charging it.. I leave my Hermes charging overnight when I'm sleeping, and it leads to over-charging.. You need to unplug the charging cable when the charging complete ASAP..
I have the same problem on my Spv m3100. The power meter deplete at 10% increments. Unlike my HTC TyTyn 2 - Kaiser this shows actual units.
