XDA2 MOTHERBOARDS

I had purchased a damaged xda2 that had a good lcd to replace my damaged xda2 lcd. When i looked at both motherboards they were slightly different in their chip layouts. The main point was that the lcd connectors were different. One had the connector mounted horizontally and you pushed the lcd cable in horizontally and secured it with a thin black strip.
The other which was the spare i bought has the connector mounted vertically and the lcd cable is pushed in from the top.
Is there different motherboard configurations for the xda2 or have i been sent something else.Any help on this would be appreciated.
regards
Nick
hmm
i have had both of these types of board and can confirm they are both correct, the plug in type is newer as i found the same type on an xda2i.

Thanks for that , is there anyway of identifying which lcd connector is used without opening the xda2 itself?
that i don't i purchased a faulty xda2 from ebay expecting to swop the screen to mine but to find this diffrence, i have seen someone selling screens on ebay before and in the listing it mentioned about the imei, but how tell which is which is beyond me.

HTC Hermes/TyTN front panel ribbon cable same as TyTN II? (Please read/help!)

Hi all, my Hermes/JasJam LCD screen and front panel stopped working a while back with the whiting out issue, funny artifacts and non working buttons. I have pulled it apart quite a few times to make temporary solutions but none have lasted enough.
So now I'm looking to buy a used Hermes and jack the screen part off it and place it on mine. Now I know how to do this but what came to my mind was:
Buy the newer version of the Hermes and place it's front part on my old jasjam which would be like a mixed/modded Hermes.
So I saw the O2 Zinc and the TyTN II and i really like the front panels better than the original hermes ones. So, before I buy one of them, does someone know if the ribbon cable is the same as the original one that connects to the phone's mainboard?
Any help much appreciated!
