Had the same problem a couple months ago.
Just put it into bootloader (power+light+reset).
And flash the (original) rom again.
Worked for me.
Good luck.

... and take out the SD-Card. This happened twice to me until I took out the SD-Card. In my opinion, the mobile will see an inserted SD-Card as ExtRom when you do a hard reset.
As far as there are no cabs on the card, nothing will be installed !
tsfnet

I had a similar problem. Just repeated the process with the original cable and everything worked fine. Some replacement cables do give problems.

My SVP M600 phone got stuck at Starting screen

Hi Friends,
My new mobile phone SPV M600 got stuck whil starting showing four lines of messages as shown below.
IPL 2.10.0001
SPL 2.10.0001
GSM 02.07.20
OS 2.10.1.22
Can any one please help me in geting my phone to today's screen.
I also attached the screen shot for reference.
did you try a hard reset ?
Ya I tried both hard as well as soft reset but same screen is stuck again and agian. Can any one please help me in this regard as I am very new to PDA family.
Ok, first things first:
Since you are new to this, are you sure you preformed a hard reset?
It is done by holding power + camera + comm manager buttons (one on the right, two on the left) and pressing with stylus in the reset hole at the same time.
A message should appear asking you to press 'send' (green phone button) to confirm reset.
If this does not help, you may have a serious problem.
Please answer the following:
Is the device fully charged?
Phone will fail to boot if the battery is too low.
Did you install any software right before this happened?
This should have been resolved by hard reset, but just in case I am asking.
Did you change the ROM, attempted CID / SIM unlock?
This could require more serious measures than I can advise on.
I did exactly the same thing which you mentioned. But even then it is stuck at the same screen.
Ya u r right I unlocked my mobile using a software from eBay.The unlock was successfull and I tried to insert T-Mobile sim, it also captured the signal and I was able to make and recieve calls then after that I wantedly switched off the phone and then tried to start it, there got the problem.
Can any one help me in this regard please.
I am having the same problem, but my phone is not sim-locked.
I've got the same problem after attempting smart1_wm6_pp8mb.exe
I'm having the same problem with my G4 QTEK S200:
Attempted to upgrade to WM6 Rom using smart1_wm6_pp8mb.exe
After reboot the phone got stuck at the QTEK Screen
Tried Hard Reset (Camera+Power+Comm+Reset) followed the steps with the same results (bricked)
I also tried re-flashing the rom back to the factory one using RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QtekWWE_Ship and ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.exe in Windows Vista with WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center v. 6.0.6873) and the phone in boot loader mode (tri color screen) with working USB cable, with windows firewall disabled and symantec AV disabled as well, RUU keeps saying error 260 "the update utilitiy cannot connect to your pda phone..." .
Do you think I should try this process using XP instead? No matter what i try i keep getting the error 260
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Got it fixed!
it was definately a Vista issue. once i tried it in XP with ActiveSync it worked like a charm and i got my phone back up and running. also used spb backup and restored all my settings.
ipl/spl screen
i got the same problem with new rom wm6, and the 260 eror, my problem is that i have xp and the activesync does`t connect ...
... means i cant redo the original rom ????
PLEAAASEEE HELPPPP !!

Hi Iam able to update the Rom but no use
Hi,
To mention my phone is from orange-UK. I got the orange rom from our FTP site and did the flashing/update what ever you say.But still it is getting stuck at the same IPL/SPL screen. Iam very much worried that I will not get a proper solution for my problem. It will be very grate full if some one resolve my problem.
just seems strange...how did you fix it last time? did it just start working again? A random guess would be that the camera button got liquid spilled on it or is stuck in.
If the camera button is pressed in the phone will go to 3 colour screen every time it is turned on.
It won't do any harm if you try to press/move that button to see if u can "unstick" it, not likely I think but u never know...

Manage to solve the problem ...thanks WIKI !!
Go to Bootloader mode: Hold side OK and POWER buttons together and reset with stylus
Then Flash to any ROM you want !!
Thanks .... But
Thanks for the reply ... but i have no idea how to do what you tell me, I am new to all this phone "stuff" as a matter of fact this is the first time that i am ever using one of these forums. I have read till i am cross eyed but dont actually understand what you are talking about ... now don't let that scare you away as i am willing to learn and i am not braindead ... you all had to start sometime in this, not so. I get that i need to try and reflash my rom...
so is there some type of rom update software that i need? ... what is a hard SPL?? ... and who is Schaps?? .. sorry guys to do this to you but i would like to get into this game and i need some ( well maybe a lot ) of pointers.
Thanks for your time.
1. Search for "mr vanxs guide" so you have an idea on what you're doing.
2. OK, as Asfarizal said "Go to Bootloader mode: Hold side OK and POWER buttons together and reset with stylus". If you cant work out what the buttons are, go to the manual. it will tell you.
3. type in "hard SPL" in search on the forum & download the .zip or .rar file. this should have 2 files inside when opened,
a). RUUWrapper.exe and
b). RUU_signed.nbh
sync Hermes and double click .exe file. follow prompts.
4. find a rom that you want (would suggest TNT SE as a fairly good rom for noobs... good and stable, no problems...) Again download, then (and this is personel preference) format an sd card fat 32 and copy RUU_signed.nbh into root directory. Rename it Hermimg.nbh. Put into Phone and put into bootloader(make sure the battery is more than 50%) follow prompts. This should get you out of trouble. You can also sync your Phone and double click on the RUUWrapper.exe HOWEVER, if you should reset your computer, pull out the usb cable or have anything else happen to the computer that interrupts the flashm, you could end up with a worse brick than you have now. try to read up on flashing (search for "mr vanxs guide") and this should help you a lot if you have other questions. Good luck and happy flashing......
Thank You
I will follow the instructions you gave and try to get it going this weekend.
Thank you so much for your time

Looks like you've got a lot of reading to do, and a problem to sort out. Firstly a couple of answers...
Schaps is a Rom Cooking guru (makes custom versions of WM5, WM6 etc). When you get your phone sorted out I'd recommend trying one of his roms.
Hard SPL. The SPL is part of the bootloader which effectively dictates how a rom is flashed and what roms can be flashed. HardSPL is a custom version of this which allows you to flash any rom from any carrier. It also protects against a bad flash in many cases. It is recommended before you try flashing any new roms or radio roms. Use Hard-SPL-V7 at the bottom of the first post here.
The Rom upgrading software is contained in any of the cooked or carrier supplied roms. It is normally a .zip file which cotains 2 files: xxxxxRUU.exe and RUU_signed.nbh. You run the .exe file from your PC when connected to your phone via USB. More details of how to do this are in MrVanx's guides. Also other resources here.
Now to try to sort your phone out...
What is displayed on your screen when in bootloader mode? It should be something like this:
HERM200
IPL-1.04
HERM200
SPL-2.10.Olipro (This is HardSPL V7)
If you don't have an Olipro SPL then you need to get HardSPL onto your phone. If you haven't done any upgrading and have had the phone from new then I guess you don't have hardSPL.
Now you need to fix your USB Malfunctioning problem. I can't help too much here except to suggest trying a different cable, different USB port or different PC. Also, if you are running Vista try an XP maxhine. When you connect to the PC does your phone show Serial or USB on the screen? If you can't get a USB connection, all is not lost - you can re-flash your rom using an SD card, method here.
There is a thread about un-bricking phones which may help.
There are various diagnostic tools (which can also screw your phone if used incorrectly). The favourite of these is MTTY but you need a USB connection to use this.
If your phone is in warranty I'd recommend getting your supplier to sort it out, but if not I'd try to re-flash an ORIGINAL supplier rom (Cingular I guess). You can get links to the official supplier roms here.
I think (might be wrong) that sometimes when stuck in bootloader you need to flash an official rom, not a cooked one to recover your phone - then you can run HardSPL and then flash cooked roms again.
Cingular 8525 stuck in bootloader
Thanks for the reply ... lots of great input.
Now to answer some of your questions.
1) When I power up the phone (only pushing the power button ) it goes straight into the bootloader screen without pushing any other buttons, and it displays
HERM100
IPL-1.01
HERM100
SPL-1.06
Then at the bottom in the white bar it says "Serial"
The only way that i have found to power it down again is to remove the battery, there is no response from any single buttons after it is in bootloader
the soft reset and hard reset work but it just goes right back to the bootloader screen after.
2) The USB malfunction. This only started after the phone "crashed" and before that it worked great ... well i only used it to sync up to my work pc for the contacts and to get pictures onto my hard drive.
all the PC's that i use are running XP. I have tried my home PC and my Laptop
and the work PC and all of them have their own cables and they all say the same thing ... "the USB device is malfunctioning"
I am sure that when i get the phone going again the USB will start to function again.
3) Phone warranty ... I bought the phone off e-bay from a store in new york about 10 months ago as a "new unlocked cingular 8525" it was new and unlocked, but i have no idea how they unlocked it. I would assume that there would be no warranty now and in any case i live in Canada and would have to ship it down to the states to an AT&T repair center and that sounds like a nightmare to me with the customs and so on.
I will give you a little more background on the problem. the phone worked like a charm without any problems at all for the 10 months that i had it, then the morning of the crash the phones alarm did not go off in the morning and i was almost late for work ... i did not pay it any further attention untill at 3:26pm
that afternoon the alarm went off ??????? (it was set for 6:05am) so i checked the main clock time, it was right. I then checked the alarm time, it was right ??? So i figured that something must have just got confused, so i powered down the phone with the power button to just restart it and while it was powered down i removed the battery to take the oportunity to to clean all those fuzzies and dust that collect in the battery compartment out and put it all together and powered it up again (just by pushing the power button) and this wierd red, green, blue and white screen appeared and that is all that i have seen since ???
I hope that answers your questions and i will start going through the links that you sent and get to reading ... will there be a pop quiz ... lol
Thanks again for your time and i very much appreciate all the time that all of you have spent on me and my phone ..... I know that you all just feel bad for me because i now have to use a Motorolla V551 ... lol
Great Work

thanks and regards
kirtibas
kirtibas, sorry it took so long to reply, 1st thing I'd do is upgrade to SPL 2.10 olipro. This is safer to use than others. then I'd suggest reflashing a stock rom to see if that works. After stock rom works then use a cooked rom as your heart desires... Cheers...

Problems with FM Radio & Camera

Hi all,
I encounter some problems with the polaris. When I want to use the camera I encounter the message:" unable to initialize....".
I also encounter problems with the FM radio: when I want to use my radio, it starts up, you see the screen, but no sound radio stations can be found. This means no radio functionality as well.
I've perfomed soft reboots but also hard reboots (so it initializes completely again). I also tried new ROMs. Nothing helps. Anybody recognizes this problem? Looks like that it has problems initializing the radio/ camera function.
Is there an update available which could fix this problem? My device is not damaged at all. Or would there be an other solution, as far as you know? Furthermore, the phone works perfectly. Hopefully you can help me with this.
Thanks!!!
Greetz,
M
First flash ur pda with :
http://www.4shared.com/file/46948092/9e97bc37/Radio_Murata_1582123.html
or
http://www.4shared.com/file/54732373/c9f753c5/Radio_Murata_1582514.html
If that doesnt work.Keep the one murata radio on your pda and flash another win mobile rom(without radio rom).
I prefer khanx vanilla v6 (radio isnt working, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398796 ) or swtos roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=404977 )
look also:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414436
Other radio roms are crap....
2 ALL. My FM radio very very poor, allways noice & appear and disappear signal, in same moment - mobile phone samsung about 200$ give 100% better quality
any suggest ?maybe need forget to use radio in cruise ???
Hi Badguy,
Yesterday I tried to flash my pda, as you said, with the radio rom "http://www.4shared.com/file/46948092...a_1582123.html". the update ended up in 99% completeness. So now....I have the tri color error (so I cannot use my phone). Hopefully I will be able to restore it again.
You have any tips?
Michel
hi.
Yes i forgot to tell you, that u have to flash HARD SPL first, then u can flash any custom rom and any radio rom.
Now, u have to flash ur pda with original touch cruise rom, which will restore your pda to normal working mode.Original rom is on CD, which was in box, when u bought ur phone. When the iriginal rom is flashed, u do the hard spl, then u can flash any software made for polaris.
Hi,
Thanks for the info...I am not aware that I received any CD's with original roms.
If I have not received any CD with Rom on it, can I not just update the ROM with ,for example, Diamond r7 Rom?
I tried this, but I didn't succeed. Normally I connect the phone to my pc, then enter the 'bootloader mode (from hard SPL)' on my pda by starting up the bootloader on my polaris and then I run the new ROM from my computer. When I use this procedure, the ROM is updated. I used this procedure as well for this 'flash'.
Since I have now the permanent tri-color, and therefore cannot enter bootloader, how can I update my ROM to the original version (or to any other ROM)?
Any further tips?
Thanks!
Michel

U need this rom, This version u should get with the phone. But it doesnt matter now. just ON/OFF the phone, connect it with cable and pc. Start flashing. Then make hardspl.
Did u hear for flashing through microsd card?? All what u must do is:
1. U have to have memory card in mode fat32.
2. Put onto the memory card rom file. Usually is named something.nbh .You have to rename it to POLAIMG.nbh .
3. put the memory card into the PDA and u have to go to bootloader mode ( press the camera button, make soft reset with stylus and u have to press camera button all the time, until u get 3color mode.
Radio roms, splash screens, roms , all, u can flash with microSD mode.
btw http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381600&highlight=microsd Its a MUST!!
Hope it works now.

Hi,
I have tried the above steps. I have downloaded the rom, upacked it and renamed into POLAIMG.nbh
I pressed the camera button all the time and performed a soft reset with stylus. The following happens:
1. The three color comes again (it says: POLA100, SPL-1.25.0000, CPLD-2; in the red part; also in the above right corner of the red part it says: RUUNBH).
2. Then it turns into a white screen with: 'Loading...'.
3. After that it says...'checking...'
4. After this it says:
"0025002
not allow"
Then it returns again to the three color with same text as above.
Do you know any tips to solve my problem? Hopefully you can help me!
Kind regards,
M
Here I am again.
I now concluded from the text in the red section, that I indeed don't have Hard-SPL on it. I think this causes the fact that it is 'not allowed''. Would you agree on this one?
This means that I need to install HARD-spl from the tri-color situation.
This is the next big challenge I think. Do you have tips for me? Hopefully we will [email protected]

badguy999 was trying to tell you that about 3 or 4 posts back. Yes you must HardSPL your device before you load anything other than the Stock ROM. Read and follow the following thread to hardspl:

Hi,
I know that I need to install Hard SPL and I have read the threads you mentioned (before). The thing is, how can I install Hard SPL without the use of any active sync. In other words: how can I install Hard SPL by using the SD-card?
If you can help me with this...it would be great.

U cant. First u have to flash original rom to make the pda working again. Then u can install hardspl through cable. original rom can be flashed with microsd method.
Are u sure that u have memory card in fat32??Cause error u described few post before.
Hi,
When I want to flash it with original rom (rename the rom to POLAIMG.nbh, it starts loading, than checking, and than it says 'not allow....and a number' See also a few posts back. I formatted the SD to FAT 32
Somehow I'm not allowed to install the original rom. Therefore I thought that I needed to install Hard SPL.
Or should I press a combination of buttons on my phone? When I press the camera button and then soft reset, the same happens, when I just reset (he tries to load the image, but does not work).
I'm now allmost through all my options here. Hopefully somebody can help.

camera problems
Hi,
as far as i understand the "cannot initialize" camera problem is a know HTC hardware problem and the only solution to it is to send the phone to HTC for board replacement.
(it might suddenly start working for some time - i saw reports that it happens , but than the problem will probably return -- there are lot of touch cruise users i saw with this problem and the only known solution i saw was HTC repair)
Is true that the polaris is "weak" phone. mine had trouble with connecting to 3G. And during calls, persons didnt hear me well and from time to time i was muted . So, they change motherboard.
Polaris has really weak signal strenght. Far far better signal i got from tytn2 and trinity. With regular radio rom...

Stuck in bootloader...

I am afraid my Polaris bricked, but I hope somebody knows a solution. Let me explain:
I turned off my device to get my microsd card out. I put the card in my cardreader to fill it with a lot of music. After that I inserted the card in the polaris, turned on the pda, and I got into the bootloader screen .
I tried to soft reset: bootloader screen again, tried to hard reset: bootloader, tried to flash original rom: rom update complete and after that bootloader, tried to flash several cooked roms: rom update complete and again the bootloader. When I try to charge my polaris it automatically turns on and goes to the bootloader. Flashing with microsd doesn't work. I also tried the thing with mtty, but it doesn't show the usb option in the list...
I DID hard-spl, I was using udk diamond R8 and never had any trouble before, while flashing about once a 2 months. I really am desperate, because I am unable to charge the pda now. I searched well and I only found threads of people who forgot to hard-spl before flashing custom roms.
I hope someone comes up with a brilliant idea, I love my Polaris way too much working and I don't want it to be a nice looking pda that doesn't work anymore.
PLEASE HELP!
I now manage to get into the mtty application, but I don't know if it is a good idea to use it. The problems I found here which could be solved with mtty are different from my problem I think. What would be wise to do? I flashed various original roms, and radios. That seems to work as normal, but after flashing I keep returning in the bootloader screen .
I hope one of you has an idea what to do. If it is something that is involving risk, I think I should do it anyway, because in this current state my Polaris is useless.
a few ideas! maybe they can help!
1) do you have warranty? you can restore back to original spl and then get HTC to ix it!
2) Try flashing your phone without the MicroSD card in place, maybe with the stock HTC Rom
Another option - try to delete all files from your memory card.
Thanks for the replies.

I read the thread about restoring back to original spl. There is stated that you can't restore to original spl if you are stuck in bootloader...
2) Try flashing your phone without the MicroSD card in place, maybe with the stock HTC Rom
I tried a lot of times, but every time after flashing has finished, I return to the bootloader
Another option - try to delete all files from your memory card.
I formatted my memory card in fat32, tried to flash with sd-card. When I turn on the phone it shows about 0.5 seconds something like "no rom image" and returns to bootloader screen
My cruise is still stuck, and I really think about trying things in mtty as a last resort... Anybody who knows what commands I should give in mtty in this situation? All help is appreciated, and if a suggestion makes my polaris work again I will donate the brilliant xda-member 20 euro's!
I have the same fault and have not found a solution. Every time I soft reset I am stuck in the boot loader screen. If I switch off the phone using comm manager then soft reset the phone will boot okay.
The only method I have found to be able to boot properly is to leave the battery out overnight and then start the phone in the morning. Always boots without a problem this way.
To make matters worse the USB port on my phone is broken...

[Q] Photon Brick!! Software update failed...

Hi everyone!
My friend has got the HD Mini and put Android on it. After AD crashed some programs didn't work after restart and so he wanted to install a new ROM on it. Everything worked fine until the installion got 100% suddenly the screen got black and showed this message:
Software update failed.
Please try again.
He tried again but nothing worked. No reset, nothing....
Can anybody help ??
Try to put a original Rom, first take out the battery, put the battery again, tham old the volume down, push the power buton, the screen will be in three colors, connect the usb cable, and flash the original Rom.
You need to download the original Rom, from the Htc site, with the Hd Mini serial number.

Okay I did as you said, but we only got Error [276].....
And the tricolored screen doesn't look normal
but thx
it's the update error.just make a soft reset and launch the Ruu again.
ps:do you flash you device with the original rom?
Is very important you flash the original Rom, see in this post how to discovery the region of your Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=799923&highlight=Malima17
We used the original ROM but always the software update error appeared.
My friend can be lucky that he's got guaranty so he sends it to htc...
But thanks!!!
look at my thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041988 - with a (HD MINI) in your same situation I have repaired everything with my procedure. perfect. be quiet.
Procedure with the stock rom with activesync, having your screen, absolutely does not work, 'cause in your situation is corrupt to boot. With SDCARD method avoids the problem and create the boot from sdcard-
