Cheapest P3600 in the UK - P3600 General

Hello all, first of all I want to say that I am not working for, nor have i any links with this company. I currently have a Wizard which has just bricked out of the blue and I cannot even start it.
So, I have spent the last few days trawling the threads on this great site, looking for good reviews about the p3600. I noticed a few people talking about Expansys and their delays in stock, thats where I bought my wizard. Anyway, to cut the story short, I have literally just bought the P3600 in black from the following site for £380. They are waiting on stock of the White one but I'm more than happy now and at over £20 quid cheaper than the nearest other shop, its gotta be good.
Site: https://www.superetrader.co.uk//index.php
Guess i'll be starting all over again on the Trinity threads instead of the Wizard.

I bought the P3600 2 weeks ago from http://www.handtec.co.uk/, they are selling at £380 as well...Handtec is one of the recommanded resellers listed in the HTC website, n that's how I found it...I received the device 2 days after the purchase, even I only paid for the cheapest shipping...hope this gives u another option...

Hi! I'll be visiting UK for 3 days and I want to buy one P3600. Which internet company do you suggest for one day delivery. Because I have no time (1. day arrival, 2. day training 3. day afternoon departure)

I've 2 left, already sold one to a member of the forum and he's happy.
£320, tell me if interested

Hello there,
If i were you then i would check out the sites which have a next day delivery, order it before you travel and have it delivered to the address you are staying at.
Failing that, I think you could check if some of these places have a pick up service. Best of luck anyway.

Best way of upgrading/swapping XDA for XDAII??

Hi people,
I want to swop my current xda for an xda mk2 and was just wondering if anyone knew a good way of doing this - I Emailed o2 coustomer support and they said that they weren't operating a trade in at the moment but to check back later. However, i'm impatient ;-). Is there anyone whos traded an xda in with a high street shop or will my best bet to be sell it on ebay? On a sort of related point, has anyone found the cheapest site to buy a new xda2 (with contract, want around a £20-£25 a month one)? The best i've found seems to be;
http://www.e2save.com/e2001/php/matrix/disphandset.php?network=O2&handset=XDA2
on O2 Leisure Time Plus + 100 SMS.
For reference for trade in etc, my XDA is the 64mb version with the latest official o2 ROM, unlocked thanks to the unlock utility from this very site, Good condition (natural wear and tear, marks around the infra red port but still works fine), still got box+manuals+cd+cradle+charger+leather case but not the headset (broke). Comes sim free (still got 1 onth left on 12month min. contract, but willing just to pay that).
Thanks in advance for any help,
Mark
You would be better to sell it, but make it quick as Ebay is getting flooded with them. Or you could offer it for sale here on the forum, how much you hoping to get for it?
i sold mine 2 weeks ago, as soon as i heard the news that it was available from 1 november in my neighbour country germany, and got one 1 week ago. sold for 250 € and bought one for € 650
Well with the keyboard i was hoping to get around £200 or so. Need that much to make it worthwile to upgrade or I may as well stick with the XDA1.
Decided to put it on Ebay now rather than risk leaving it and the site becoming flooded - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2766011342 if anyones interested
I just sold my xda privately, I got £160 with all the origanal stuff and it looked quiet well looked after, when it's unlocked the "pay as you go" people cant resist the prospect of an unusual phone away from the usual boring nokias, and since my brand new xdaII was only 150 on a £45 p/m contract I`ve got one of the most cutting edge mobiles on the planet, and made a tenner

Bought an English MDA Pro in T-Mobile shop today

Hi All. Good news. MDA PRO is definately available in T-mobile shops as of today. My wife bought one today and I've just finished setting it up and have left is to charge.
For anyone interested, it cost: £219.00 on Relax 200 (18 month contract) with 6 months half price line. Wow! Feel like a mug now, bought a JasJar 3 days ago. Well all's well that ends well. We're on different networks, but I also picked up my 3G Sim card from o2 today, so will be testing 3G video calls/conferencing and faster internet connection later this evening.
Hi!
Have fun and enjoy it!
Yeah I have one too, £259.99 from scancom on uFix 15 (£15/month, 12month contract). Got TomTom 5.1 working on it, this is the most awesome device I've ever seen!
Disappointed about the lack of MSN Messenger though, gonna have to buy it from M$
Do you know if you can buy it sim free or pay as you go with T-Mobile?
was negotiating for mda pro £200 + web and walk (£30/month = 100min talk + 40MB ) on a 18 month contract.
But only one available in Leeds .. waiting for next Wednesday - Saturday to get two at the same time.
Did not even get a price back even with insurance (£8/month)
no double battery - leather casing -
the T-Mobile guy didn't took me as a serious customers (I'm young ;.. ) so I couldn't play around with the OS as I wanted ... just saw the nice colour of the screen + first boot not even the wm5 start menu or camera quality ..
MDA pro official released is Wednesday with web & walk tariff
02 didn't not have any public release date ( even commercial version ) cheaper for the device but more expensive for the contract
adamdon89:
Don't think they'll ever do them Sim free, but I'd love to be proved wrong!
lilliput:
My Mrs must have been extremely lucky if the official release date isn' till wednesday. Well, the salesman in T-mobile did say that it was the only one that came into the shop.
Why do they play with us so?

I had the feeling it was the only one that they had too.
Because they didn't do like O2 and do a marketing around the mda pro they need a quick other way to tell everyone that it will be there next Wednesday ... and it's working ... (marketing)
and I think also that's the reason why I didn't get any price on it.
Do you think it's valuable to get an insurance (£8/month) on it ?
My local T-Mobile shop told us that they should have it next Wednesday so waiting and see; (I'm going to buy 2 contract hope to reduce a bit more the price)
NB: Once I'll get it my main aim would be to run linux on it
Hi lilliput:
Linux eh? Sounds interesting! A little out of my depth but that's an open source code O/S isn't?
Insurance? Definately a must. I bought myself a jasJar 3 days before my wife bought a MDA Pro in T-mobile and the salesrep recommended insurance @ £7.99 a month. Incidentally, I searched around the net for insurance for my JasJar and was also quoted the same price by most PDA/Phone insurance companies. It's cheaper if you insure a standard phone, but these PDA/Phones are then covered for loss/theft & accidental damage to the tune of £1000.00 So overall, I think it's a good plan. Additionally, after a years of insurance you will be sent a brand new battery for your phone!
Such a small world... Where did your wife find that Mda Pro? Oxford Street T-Mobile? I was looking for an Mda Compact today and I was shocked when sales woman offered me Pro, she said she just got two of them and someone is picking up one later. It's too big for me though 8)
So anyway, it's easier to find a PRO than Compact
rottie: She bought it in the T-mobile shop in the Glades, Bromley, Kent. It was the only one that came in to the store on Saturday.
But if you're after a Magician....got the wife's ex-magician on offer with box and all bits and pieces, including 512MB SD card

T Mobile assure me you're lying and that NO WAY has ANY T mobile store got any, or sold any MDA Pros and won't for WEEKS yet. Oh, and the Norwich store on Gentleman's Walk has one, too. Which must also be a lie.

LIES
Call me a liar too then
yep it's Linux is an Open Source (and even more GPL software)
I've seen some really good version for mobile phone and wanted to tried asap.
(apparently I can even test it without uninstall anything )
wait Wednesday to get one .. few hours to wait ... ARGGGGGGGG..
for the insurance if get a battery for free after a year might be worth it.
I was afraid that 40MB/month are not enough.. If you think about it that's just 1MB/day roughly;
What's the extra software that you get with the mda pro ?
(any SD with it ?)
well i just been in the T mobile shop in the trafford center and they sold there last 1 of which they had 2 delivered sold 1 saturday a half hour b4 gutted so they are available but just not 2 me lol

Buying @ www.smart-mobile-gadgets.com

Guys, anyone bought it here? Are they serious?
Thanks.
I had purchased a pre-order TyTn from them, but their shipment was going to be delayed 1 week. I emailed them asking for a refund and they did not hesitate to do so.
Even though I did not get my TyTN from them, I thought their service was great.
same here. I'd definitely buy from him again...
I received my TyTN from them in his first batch, and I've also purchased a QTEK 8500 from him....perfect with no complaints. When I informed him that I needed it quickly for a business trip, he upgraded the shipping without even thinking about it.
I use SMG to buy phones all the time. Great service.

Where to purchase x7501 in Australia

Hi guys, i know this is not a normal question in these forums but i don't know where else to look.
apart from ebay, is there any other way an australian can get their hands on an htc x7501?
any help is appreciated.
thanx in advance
After extensive searching, the only place I found was ebay. Also, just making sure that you know the X7501 does not have a front camera for video calls. Only the X7500 does.
that would be because the X7501 is only for the North American Market, the X7500 is for the rest of the world, but obviously it depends on orders from the retailers and networks as to whether the distributors will bother to import it.
i would say Ebay all the way, or from a reputable worldwide online retailer such as expansys or someone similar.

WHy do you want a 7501 rather than a 7500? Did you realise the 7501 is the same but just missing the front camera?
Unfortunately, when I asked the same question of HTC on Oct 24, they replied "
"There is no plans for a release of HTC Advantage X7500/X7501 at this current stage. The shift is due for release last quarter of this year, hopefully this will suite your requirements."
The Shift doesn't suit my requirements so I ordered a 7501 from Mobileplanet - it arrived yesterday!
I asked HTC where I could buy Dopod U1000 back in March this year. They replied that they will not be sellin this device in Australia and New Zealand.
They said the Telco in Australia wanted to charge them an arm and leg for 'testing fee', which HTC refused to pay.
So I got mine from Singapore, and found out that no testing is needed. It just worked.
I don't see SHIFT doing well at all in Australia. It's too small to be used as a Vista machine but too big to be carried around. It's too battery poor, and too slow. I do see Advantage/Athena doing very well in Australia. It is almost a perfect device.
Thanx for the reply guys. i know the differences between the x7500 and x7501 but the increase in price just for the front camera is not justified. i dont use video call anyway.
i'll check out mobileplanet, how much did you pick it up for?
also fixerboy, how long did it take to be sent to you from the day you ordered it? and how much was the combined price with shipping in AUD? was there any customs fees?
thanx
Approx $A1200 inc shipping and a 4 in 1 cable - Ordered approx 10 days ago - said backlog was until Nov 22 but the day before yesterday, the tracker said it was backlogged for 9 days - then it showed up yesterday so approx 12 days from order to arrival.
excellent news. i might order it today. i had a look through the checkout process, do you remember which shipping option you chose? in other words, which ones apply to australia? is "rest of the world - 3 - 4 days" the only option available to australians?
also, how did you pay? credit card, wire transfer?
thanx
