Last night I flashed my MDA Compact II with a ROM in this forum. It's from the thread: Tuning ROM 2.6.2.27 MDA CHARMER(MDA COMPACT II). The ROM update seemed to go okay, but now the Charmer won't boot. All I get is the splash screen, which says:
IPL 1.12
SPL 1.12.0000
OS 2.6.2.27
After about 20 - 25 seconds, the background does this fade-out effect and then the phone reboots. Also, I get no charge indicator light when the phone is plugged in (power or USB). Does anyone know how I can fix this or why this is happening?

1. dowenload this t-mobile official rom
2. enter your Charmer into bootloader mode by pressing power + camera + reset, let go of the reset, but keep holding power + camera until the three colur screen will show up (that is bootloader mode).
3. connect the Charmer to your pc (make sure your battery is fully charged)
4. run the t-mobile rom.
5. good luck!

Also the problem is that youve still got v1 bootloaders (IPL + SPL 1.12) Once youve downloaded the official tmobile rom and installed it, you'll have v2 bootloaders and can go back to using that tuning rom properly.

the i was told by a senior menber to flash it with BUTTON 1.05 (which i did)
and now BATTERY IS NOT CHARGING
and now i have
ipl 1.01
spl 1.12.000
gsm 01.12.10
os 1.5.4.2
i have checked usb cable , main power charger with other pda and it was working ok
now i can keep my mda compact 2 alive once it is plugged in via main power charger only. i dont have any facility to recharge my battery on another charger.

hi ,
i flased the tmobile rom with ur given link now it doesnt go past the initial screen
all it says is
ipl 3.08
spl 3.08
gsm 02.69.21
os 3.8.2.21
and stays ter all day until battery goes dead.
please help me let me know hw can i get my phone up and running.

I did flash my HTC wizard with new rom after finishing the install the device reboot and stacked on the boot screen then I tried to go to the boot screen but I couldn't , I tried to make hard rest but also I coudn't nothing is working even charing the device cant be made .

Are you able to get to a multi-colored screen with numbers?
In case you don't know, to get to the bootloader screen hold down the camera button and press the power button.
now i got the same problem.
I updated the rom & now i have the multi-colored (red/green/blue/white) screen
with RUU - IPL 2.18 - SPL 2.18 - USB on it (Qtek 9100)
I downloaded the tools from Vippie in the thread "How to flash a new ROM to your Wizard... a little tutorial!" but those won't help...
anybody got any advice? I would like to install WM6...

Got a nasty problem here! I dont remember KJam was CID unlocked or not. It had T-Mobile Rom with IPL and SPL 2.xx, I flashed it with WM6 Rom and IPL changed to 1.xx but SPL remained same and the device remained stuck on first splash screen, I soft reseted it a couple of times but the result was same then I removed the battery for 10 minutes and when I tried to power it on again it never booted. Now the phone is bricked, it doesn't goes even in bootloader mode! What to do? Please help...
Well,is your phone G3 or G4 device ? you have posted ipl.spl 2.xx of your phone,is it just 2.xx or 2.xx.xxx1 ? you have to be absolutely sure,cuz if it has ipl/spl 2.xx or 2.xx.xxx then its a G3,but if it was 2.xx.xxx1 its a G4 device.
In case,if its a G3 device,the flash went bad,just reflash again with the Button's Rom 1.05 or xda_minis_launch Rom or should download the the official T-Mobile Rom/T-Mobile 2.26 and flash.After recovering the phone download WST tool 4.2 and run the 'CID Action' button to verify the CID locked/unlocked status of the phone.
I'm afraid,if it is a G4 device and you flashed a G3 Rom Button's Rom 1.05,its a 'Brick',try to force the phone into Bootloaders (tricolor Screen) by pressing and holding down the camera button and at the same time press the Power on button,if it goes into bootloaders,you are save.If it gets into bootloaders,download the official Rom/T-mobile 2.26 or the wizard_love Rom and flash it in bootloaders.Hope it'll work out.
I assume,you have a fully charged battery,when you flashed.Its better to check the status of the battery,try to get the battery fully charged with wall charger.

I have the same problem too. I just flash back the original t-mobile flash and it's ok again. But whenever i try to flash it again it hangs on the boot screen again. So if you want it to work just use an original T-mobile flash and it will be ok again

I try to answer... (sorry for my bad english)
1. Make sure your battery up to 50%, 100% is recommended...
2. turn off u'r PPC
3. press camera,talk, and power button at the same time for a second until your display show 3 colour....
4. plug your cable data from PPC to desktopPC, and make sure your display show "USB", and try to re-flash with other ROMS.....

I have a Wizard G4 and I tried to install a WM6.5 ROM (TechTeamup Mega Wizard rom) from the default WM5. I did not put in the hard-spl (as I now read) before I tried to flash. Now when it boots, I go strait to the flash screen (tri-color) screen. I tried ot run the hard-spl-G4 and it says it cannot find a device. I have tried to re-flash back to WM5 ROMs that I have found, however it says it cannont complete "ERROR 296: UPGRADE ONLY, which makes me belive I need a G4 Wizard ROM that is a full (not upgrade). What steps should I take now to revert back to a WM5 so I can re-try the "unlock" hard-spl proceedure to make the phone WM6 compatible?
Anyone have any suggestions?

Download the original ship ROM for your phone.
Turn the phone off.
Press and hold the Camera key, now insert the USB cable, Keep holding the camera key until you get the boot loader screen.
Now run the ROM update to flash back to WM5.

I brick my wizard too... What happened was I flashed my own cook of m6r5 it say successful but on reboot, it shows htc logo then stays ay tricolor screen:

Hello i tried to flash mine P4350 with at first Hard SPL , works fine after that place a custum rom, seems to works fine, but after a soft reset, NOTHING
even no LED activity. booting with holding camera button for 3 seconds, shows greens screen with ipl 1.08.0001 and 1.08.0001 and then is turns off..

Hello, ik can put a rom on the sd and boot it say illegal certificate?
Flashing from usb with romupdate utility says error 300 invalid update tool (rom update utility = 03.11.3.1)
if u are abel to get to the tricolor screen im sure you could reflash to another ROM (maybe it was a bad ROM/bad download) try flashing a ROM using the sd card (if you dont know how to flash from sd card search on it firs its all over the forum) make sure your battery is higher than 50%. well good luck.
Your SPL is not 4.0 or above. The HardSPL thread warns you against using the HardSPL on a SPL that low because it bricks the phone. You'll have to search for the Herald Goldcard method to revive the phone.
Other than that, this is not the right sub forum to ask those questions in.

I have 2 heralds which are having problems with turning on.
This is what works for me:
1) Take the battery out for 10 seconds
2) plug the charger into the phone
3) put battery back in the phone
4) press POWER button for 3 to 5 seconds
Try it few times - works for me fine, but not always !
