This is the original rom for Qtek 1010 with Pocket PC 2002
Try this!
http://www.qtek.nu/files/qtek316.zip
This is the original rom for Qtek 1010 with Pocket PC 2002, but with a newer ROM version.
Otherwise : www.qtek.nu (Homesite of Qtek in Swedish)
Olli Power 8)
Original Qtek 1010 2002 ROM (3.18.04)
I have the English 3.18.04 ROM from Qtek if you don't find a solution let me know & I'll upload it for you.
confused about rom versions. Is 4.01.16 newer than 4.00.21 ?
also, t-mobile told me it was the 2003 upgrade with this rom RUUv2.07_CEv4.01.16
that is causing my sd card to get erased and that there was nothing I could do and that I couldnt even go back to 2002. Are they jacking with me or what?
I see this site : http://www.yorch.net/upgrades.htm has rom version
Pocket PC 2002 RUU 3.14.40
and Im wondering if this will put me back to 2002 without the sd problem.
You can roll back to the 2002 ROM. I've done it successfully with my SD.
Thanks, ill give it a shot.
mushtash,
did you manage to fix your soft reset problem with a software upgrade. i posted a while back about this and i was told it was a hardware issue. i tried several roms from the kitchen. the 309 siemens one *seems* to make it do less soft resets

Unlock WM 2003 SE for Qtek 1010

Greets.
I have copied the ROM of a 1010 from a buddy that is protected with a key - presumably the key is cooked into the ROM using a unique device identifier. I've used Jeff's toolset to copy the ROM and create an SD image which i then loaded onto my Qtek.
The thing hangs on the boot screen now and won't go any further.
Any suggestions as to how to get around this?

This may be a problem of the Romspace used for this ROM. It uses also a "free region" that was used before for the permanent save.
The unique device identifier is also a problem. Until now i do not know how this key is build and where it have been integrated in the ROM......
As much as i know it's just udeless this ROM...

I recommend that you use the T-Mobile English ROM as that has better sound than the current Imate ROM.

Is that the file you extracted from your PDA or fro the Zip file.
There should be an English one in the Zip file too.

Try your card again in the card reader. See if you can read and write to it.
If that stills works, start again.

If it still works, try formatting it and starting again.

I have been formatting with my PDA but last night I formatted with the built-in reader in my laptop and the process still did not work.

Really? A Magician with WM5.0? Can you please dump that ROM?
For real: If you want someone to help you, please give all information that is needed therefor. And this information should be correct. For example: I never heard of a "MDA mini".
I can only guess: If you have a "MDA compact", this would be a Magician with WM2003SE. If you have a "MDA compact II", this would be a Charmer with WM5.0. Please use the search of the board to find out what to do and then download the ROM you need from the ftp of this site. ROMs are available for different devices, companies and languages. So be sure to know your device!
Seriously, you aren't helping yourself by posting all over the place. Use the bottom reply button. If you were to post more, I won't have suggested you to flash your phone as you don't seems to able to handle a forum function well enough (e.g. differenciate New Thread and Post Reply).
The page is not helpful too (not in english). And you should not do any dangerous flashing before you even know what you are doing.
The qtek 8500 is a StarTek(-ish?) phone which has really no similarity with your phone (Magician or Charmer).
Anyway, for there is a case of killing a Charmer with wrong ROM and since now, there isn't a know possible way to revive it. You should be prepared for the worst.
For others who are confused, refer to posts by deepdark
