wrong NDF while uodating ROM - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi,
I own a qtek 9100
While I was updating the ROM 2.17.17.02(that I downloaded from this website) I got an error " WRONG NDF"
Anyone knows what could be the problem?

I suggest that you swap over to the "Wizard Upgrading etc" forum and start doing some basic research. The .nbf file contains a number of fies (OS, RAdio, Splash screens etc) all of which have a .nb extention. The .nbf file more than likely is packaged in some executable which is used to deploy it on your 9100. If you are getting a message saying wrong file then you are likely not using the correct ROM for your device or the file may be corruped.

Thank you for th esuggestion.
I went over the Wizard upgrade forum. It'a bit mixed up!
I donwloaded the 2.17.17..... ROM version.
when I install it, it stops at 85% and gives me a error message 326!
Any Idea?

What's wrong with the SE ROM??

After downloading Jeff Summer's rom (.exe file), I tried clicking on it to extract the files...no good.
Then I used Winzip and extracted to C:\windows\temp.
Next I click on start.bat and the dos window comes up stating NBF directory not in the C:\windows\temp directory?
I move the nbf file to this directory and the uprgrade process starts.
Next I get Error 012
"Rom image that you are trying to upgrade is not compatible to your Pocket PC.
Your device
ModelW10B1
Rom version 3.14
Lang: english
Your upgraded image information:
ModelW10A1
Rom version 3.17
Lang: english
Please download comaptible utility."
What the hell went wrong??
:? :?
Sound like you extracted everything in one directory instead of in the directories mentioned in the self-extracting exe. Or something similar.
Not exactly. Here's what I did as best as I can remember.
When I clicked on the .exe file, a dos box opened, gave me an error message that it could not find the nbf directory.
Then I used winzip to extract the files into the same directoy as the .exe file.
From there I tried running the start.bat file. Still no good.
What finally worked was a strange combination of clicking on the .exe file and then immediately clicking on start.bat. This was after I moved the nbf file from the \english subdirectory to the subdirectory that had the .exe file.
It was a strange work around, but it work and the rom loaded and seems to work well.
I am getting the same problem here but I havent been able to work around it. I tried what worked for you without success.

TPEnable.exe question..

I'm trying to cook the latest 1.11.171 Extended ROM from O2 by removing all the O2 stuff...
I can sucessfully update the ms_.nbf file by using the alpine_ext_rom_tool.
The updated ROM downloads ok to the XDA IIi but towards the end of setup I get the following error message 'The file \Extended_ROM\TPEnable.exe is not a valid Windows CE Setup File'.
Clicking on 'ok' the message goes away and the touchpad is enabled??
Any ideas on how to fix this error message?
The best bet is to delete TPDisable.exe and TPEnable.exe files from the ROM and references from the Config.txt file. This will leave more room for other, useful programs. They're not needed.

qtek s200 rom install problem

I download the qtek rom
RUU_Prophet_2090724_20907106_020720_QtekWWE_Ship, however this is
not a setup file like JAmin. it is an EXE file and when i click on it a Dos pop up
is openedthen closed again, anyone has an idea about it?
If you download the ROM from this folder ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Prophet/Shipped_Complete_Updates/ , the file is corrupted.
The one in the Upload/Prophet folder is not. The link is: ftp://xda:[email protected]_2090724_20907106_020720_QtekWWE_Ship.exe .
bambacik;
I successfully download the file maybe three four times but after I am not able to work this file , when I click on the file a DOS screen open and closed then nothing happene
NO BODY HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, IT IS INTERESTIN BUT I CANT INSTALL THE ROM TO THE S200, THE EXE FILE DONT WORK LIKE JAMIN'S ROM ????

nbf file

Okay, I've spent 2 hours trying to obtain this information and am almost giving up.
Where do I obtain my nbf file? I want to change my splash screen but this is proving to be the most obscenely complicated thing I've ever done.
Could anyone post thier T-mobile 2.26 nbf file for me?
search in the Upgrading etc. forum for Wizard, "Cooked Custom Rom How to"
I found that thread and it alreeady assumes you know how to obtain and nbf file. One person gave a link on the ftp for a ROM dump utility and the ftp says that it doesn't allow anonomous logins. I included my user name and password but it wouldn't accept it. Why is this so complicated?
Could someone please tell me how to obtain this file? It's making me crazy.
Rename the RUU exe file to a rar file and open it, the nk.nbf file is there.Or just run the RUU (but don't click anything) and search your pc for nk.nbf and copy it to a safe location then cancel the Updater.
Thank you so much. In this forum, I read that I was supposed to change it to a zip, which didn't work, this did though.
I would suggest you move any questions regarding this to the Upgrading Forum. That's where you'll get more assistance.

Find ROM version from OS.nb file

Hi,
i know it's possible to know some values starting from the .nbf header (like device, lang, version, etc) but what i'd really like to know is the ROM version just from the OS image extracted from the nk.nbf file with Typho5.exe (typhoonnbfdecod.pl)
let's say i have such a file "80040000-OS_0.nb" and i forgot from which installer i extracted it from and would like to discover it then. Any clues?
tx
UPDATE:
should i have waited a couple of days and answer would fall on my lap
