Slide action very sensitive - Wing, P4350 General

I have noticed that the slide action of the keyboard is very sensitive. Sometimes when sliding into the belt case, the phone turns on.
I have set up the button lock function, but the sliding action apparently overrides this.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks

Most probably, you belt case has magnetic locks, and they trigger the keyboard mechanism, causing the phone to switch on.
I wonder why these idiots from HTC decided to make the phone switch on when you flip open the keyboard.

How come Wizard goes to Landscape mode by itself

this only happens sometimes....i usually carry my Wizard in my trousers' pockets, and when I take it out to use it, it is sometimes in landscape mode. As i understand it, to change it to landscape mode, you would normally need to push the keyboard all the way out and make it click at the end before it switches mode. So how can it change to landscape mode in my pocket? yes, i admit sometimes the keyboard has slightly slided out, but nowhere near fully out. Unless there are some key presses which turns it to landscape mode as well? Also, I always tap the power key to put it to standby mode, which I have set so that only the power key can turn it back on, and only to the password screen, so theoretically key presses are also out of question. but it's bugging me......
The trigger to landscape is just a magnet in the case and a switch. This is often noticed when sliding it out of the holster (the holster often has a magentic catch. I'd suggest you have something magnetic in your pocket but I'll leave it at that before I get misinterpreted.....

I use doublelauncher software. Using this program you can assign to hardware button this action: move the screen to landscape mode.
i've not assigned any buttons for toggling to landscape. But i tried the magnetic thing, and JoninLA is utterly right, it can be easily simulated. I have a piece of magnet in my keyring which i carry in my rather long overcoat where it may just reach over my pda in my trousers. and i also notice it even when i'm using the holster, which does have a magnet as well. thanks guys....i know what to look out for now. great stuff.

The fastest way for switching between Landscape and Portrait

Hallo!
Does anyone know the fastest and easiest way to change the display between Landscape and Portrait mode ?
Sometimes when I pickup my device from my Pocket, I notice that the display is on "Landscape" mode, but after I hold it in my hand it turns back to normal (Portrait mode), what causes that ?
Thanks in Advance!
I'm not sure what causes your phone to go into landscape when it's in your pocket but the easiest way to get it back (aside from sliding to expose the keyboard and closing it) is to assign one of your buttons to rotate your screen. In your buttons menu there is a "rotate" option. I changed my messaging button (Upper left corner) to rotate my screen when pressed.
If you use the original case that comes with the MDA VARIO sliding it out of the case causes this rotation. This happens when the PDA is active ( for example an incoming call ), the magnet in the case somehow causes the rotation when you pull it out.
Its weird, but many people experience it - I don't use the case at all and never had such problems.
If you can afford to lose a hardware button then you can assign either Rotate Screen Left or Rotate Screen Right to one through Start -> Settings -> Buttons
Thank you all for your helpful replies.
And yeah DREAMBOXER, you are right, I am using the case that came with the device... I never thought that the magnet causes that. OK is it bad and will harm my device with the time or it is just normal and nothing bad will happen if I continue using this case ?
it won't damage it
it's just the keyboard sensor is a magnet as well

Disabling touchscreen easily?

I love my Piel-Frama case. I got the cowskin in blue.
http://www.pielframa.com/menu_htc_tytn.htm
However, the cover activates the touch screen. I was talking to my boss while walking down the street, and it made a note the call history that looked like a hand giving him the finger.
How do you guys deal with covers that touch the touchscreen? If I have a bluetooth headset, I want to walk and talk but the screen goes crazy!
this can't be an unusual problem. i must be missing something easy and simple. If your case covers the screen of your phone, and you are walking and talkng on your bluetooth wireless headset, doesn't the touchscreen get activated by your case!??!
Lock the device before putting it in the case..
Locking the device involves a password. I toggle the device off with the off button (not completely off -screen off) but it must be that the off button gets activated by the case as well, cuz often when I open it back up I have flipped screens and drawn notes by walking...am I the only one with this problem?

Buddy, read your Tytn's manual. Nobody advises you to lock your device with a password/number combination. That would be time-based. Many people here including me don't just press the off button to switch the display off but use the default (or third party app) devicelock functionality. You can even use this as a today screen plugin. Press it and once off your device will only accept input via on-button and an unlock-button afterwards on the todayscreen.
Of course people prevent their phones from making accindental phonecalls etc. You should have noticed that function from beginning on however, because this is a default today plugin when you're using your device for the very first time.
Good luck
OK, i had a hard case for the last 8 months and switched to a soft one. At some point I had taken out that lock button thing. It's kind of small to activate, but, I'll live with it

Program to wake screen by detecting movement?

On my Verizon TP2, the screen goes to sleep after a minute or so. It doesn't wake up when I pick it up or even with a tap on the screen or keyboard; it requires that you hit the stupid wake button on the side of the phone.
I was wondering if a program exists to make my TP2 operate like my Logitech Harmony One remote; it automatically wakes the screen when I pick it up.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
If someone could make an application like that i would be very thankfull.
While the harmony movement detection is working very well it would be possible on an TP2 as well.
just wave a magnet over it.
the case's magnetic flap will work.
I personally think that a program to wake up the phone by detecting movement is not good idea bcoz it'll keep the device on while you are walking and having the phone in your pocket, so battery life will be affected. Unless you disable that feature when you are carrying it and run the app just when the device is on your desk.
An easy solution would be to disable the wake function if movement longer than 3 or 4 seconds is detected. If in constant motion, like in your pocket when walking, it would remain asleep.
im looking for an app that could allow the device to wake from sleep by a quick double tap on the screen, anyone know if such a thing exists?

Disable S View from turning screen on

I bought a case which enables the S View quick glance feature and it's cool and all but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to not have the screen turn on when I open the case. The problem is that the case isn't entirely flush with the phone so if the lid moves around, like in your pocket, it turns on the screen hence draining battery. It'd be nice if I'd have to hit the power button or home button to turn the phone on. I know, not the most convenient scenario but it would help in this case.
There is a setting under Accessories that is suppose to do something similar but I have a lock pattern so that setting doesn't apply in this case.
Thanks guys!
