Email Solutions - P3600 General

Hi - I am looking for enhancements to the email in the standard WM5 OS.
I have an unlocked P3600 on the O2 network in the UK and I wondered if anyone had found decent solutions to the 2 following issues:
1) Push email connecting to multiple accounts (GMail, Webmail, without leaving a PC running - not Exchange Sever)
2) Writing HTML email so I am not onviously 'mobile' when writing. All the solutions that I have read reviews on seem a bit buggy.
Thanks for your help.

Okay,
No 1) seems sorted. I have since seen some suggestions on this forum:
mail2web (live), port88.org and emoze being amongst them and free.
Does No-one have any suggestions about adecent HTML email client though?
Many Thanks.

Let's hope an update to WM6 (Crossbow) comes available; it'll support html-mail

Which Mail program do You use ?

Hi all,
after a lot of Hard-Resets and trying around I am getting my system better and better. One thing I did not manage yet is to get my Messaging program check my mails each, say 30 minutes through GPRS. If I add 2 POP accounts and check them, only for the default, all works well. But if I receive just one SMS, the POP accounts won't be checked further until I do this manually.
There must be better Mail programs around there, so I'd like to know which once You are using without issues on the WM5 driven Universal.
thanks
Ruud
I forward everything to gMail as the web client works flawlessly.
Hi rilot,
OK, but what do You use to watch the messages come into the gmail box ?
I used "messaging" which comes with the OS to do it, works perfect until the first SMS run in. Then the "default" account will change to the text-messages and my gmail-box will not be checke further. Even if it has a "every 30 minutes" tag on.
As I have gmail and a few others which I do not like too much to forward, I wanted a good software for this (which does not switch off automatically)
regards,
Ruud
Not free but the best. There is a trial:

Hi schriss,
would You care to give some experience with the proram on WM5 and Jasjar ?
I did not find any information of it being WM5 compatible at all.
Thanks
Ruud
I'm using vgsmail, it's an imap client, so you need an imap account instead of a pop account. The software is still under development & not everyone is pleased with it. http://www.vgsmail.com/ppc/

Works fine on WM5, I use it on my Qtek 8310.
@oltp, thanks, but does not sound too good. And I am using POP accounts in the first place anyway.
@schriss, thanks, I might give that trial a go.
Anyone using WebIS Mail in its latest or a WM5 beta version ?
I've used WebIS beta. it's gonna be a great program when it's finished. the beta tho had some serious problems, I advise to wait. but when it's finished, it's all you need.
i use the built in connectivity of WM5 with exchange ... works great ... i've got a delay of a couple of seconds compared to a blackberry .....

I use fastmail.fm now for imap mail. Works great with an imap-client. Won't advice vgsmail for business-mail yet (large number of mail). I use it only for private-mail (small number & small size).

@ Kassad,
care to share some of those issues WebIS Beta has. Somebody just PM me the Beta, but I would rather have some understanding which issues are aviable / known up front.
Thanks,
Ruud
It would be worth checking out here for build 450 of what was WebIS Mail now rebranded as FlexMail 2006, I have been running this build on on my WM5 Pro with no real issues thus far, well worth a punt I'd say.

What is the best Email Client?

I am interested in finding the best email client for the tytn. I would like it to:
1. Fully integrate and replace pocket outlook
2. Be able to display HTML e mail
3. Download headers or small amount, allowingyou to retieve the remainder
4. Look Good!
Any suggestions?
FlexMail 2007 (www.pocketinformant.com) has all that. It's quite an impressive email client...according to many reviews possibly the best.
Hope this helped,

Just looked at this and coupled with pocket informant it looks perfect. I shall try this today. Many thanks for the advice
just be prepared for the unfortunate fact that if you sync outlook mail (either via PC or with Exchange), nothing is going to get you nicely formatted HTML mail

HTC Home + Flexmail 2007

Hi,
Due to the problems with Gmail Imap and the standard WM6 mail client I'm now using Flexmail. No problems relationship with blank bodies with it.
I was wondering if it is possible to integrate Flexmail into HTC Home because this only shows email count for the standard client. At Flexmail forums are telling that it is not possible but if it is impossible, how to configure at least the email count to link to Flexmail instead of the standard email client?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Carlos

This is going to be implemented in the newer version coming soon.
One feature I think would be hard to implement would allowing the shortcuts on HTC Home go to Flexmail or any other client. The general consensus says the link is hardcoded to pocket outlook.

But there are already patches on this forum that change the shortcut to go directly to FlexMail. I don't have the links off hand, so you'll have to search; sorry...

wanted: mail client for IMAP push/IDLE

Any favorites or recommendations for doing IMAP push?
Using FlexMail 2007 now, and I give it a "meh." Coming from a Treo 650, I liked Chattermail. Very fast syncing and easy to file messages in other folders without subscribing to them. Anything out there like that?
I agree. Chatter mail was awesome, and FlexMail does not compare. If anyone knows of something else that has great IMAP support I would love to hear about it.
ActiveSync with mobipush
I tried qmail few months ago with wm2003. i think liscense is about $25. it has alot option and very good imap support.
Did you try Flexmail4 ?
I love it

IMAP Pusher Service

Does anyone know if this programs runs on htc touch hd?
http://www.codeplex.com/ImapPusherService
I will runs quite well. I have been using it for about 2 weeks now with my gmail account and only bug is that it gives an error message after soft reset, but nothing major. All in all i've been satisfied with the program.
Seven works very well also:
http://community.seven.com/choose.html
or alternatively you could just set the native email client to check for mail every minute if you have an unlimited web package (joke)
Edit: I can confirm that the program you linked to in the first post does indeed work on the Touch HD - just tried it successfully myself!
I just downloaded this, but before I install it, I was wondering: Can this be configured for multiple accounts?
Thanks!

Hmm. The most frequent option I'm given on my Touch Pro is every 5 minutes...
The programmer of the application you have referred has "disappeared" for quite some time. Webis do a full email client that supports IMAP Push without any other add-on, however it is not a solution if you want to use the inbuilt mail program.
An alternative that is I use now is Mail2web, which has a completely free option and is based on microsoft exchange, allowing you to use the "proper" email push service. Simply forward all your emails to that account.

Mail2web is only free for US, UK and Germany. Others countries now have to pay a monthly fee.

I assume this is going to have a rather negative effect on battery life?
Strange I never saw any link for a free service on the mail2web site. It seems they've discontinued it alltogether.
Try SEVEN, free too.
