Keyboard problem

Hi
I have a fantastic O2 EXEC and I have istalled a JasJar Italian rom. At now all ok but I have some problem with some symbols: for example the slash / in original rom (and in my keyboard) is FN + o but in Italian jasjar rom is FN + 7. This is only 1 of many different position of symbols. Can you help me??
Thanks
fabiod
I assume you have the english qwerty style keyboard. Try this: you need a registry editor - HKey_Local_Machine\Software\OEM\Qwerty\ put in 66569 instead of whatever is there.
If this doesn't work for you then someone will have the number you need. I know the German qwertz kbd is 66567.

Universal HOW TO CHANGE KEYBOARD MAP ???

Hi,
I've an Imate JASJAR with Italian software installed although the WWE english version seems to be upgraded respect to the Italian version.
Anyway I'm looking for some tricks to change the keymap of the hardware keyboard because now I've all the Simbol keys wrong, ratically the hardware keyboard is an English keyboard and with the Italian software installed for example when I'll try to write the "?" by pressing FN + ? the device write "-" .
Same thig for many other keys, almost all key are wrong, so I would like to know if there's a method or if I can change some files to get the correct english keyboard map into the Italian software version that is currently installed.
I'll be very grateful for any help.
Thanks.
Best regards,
MB
Hi,
from WikiTweaks:
----------------------
Change slide-out keyboard layout
If you have a Device from one country, but would like to use the keyboard layout of another, you can change the keyboard's language setting to do so...
For US layout (QWERTY):
HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\Locale = 1033 (DWORD decimal)
For German layout (QWERTZ):
HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\Locale = 1031 (DWORD decimal)
For French layout (AZERTY):
HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\Locale = 1036 (DWORD decimal)
_For other codes, see: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/reference/winxp/xp-lcid.mspx_
Hi,
thank you very much for the reply but the trick don't work on the Universal, the registry entry Locale don't exist, shoul be somethig regarding this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload]
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1]
but actually I've not found the method to get it work.
I'll be very grateful for any other help.
Best Regards,
MB

T9 language issues

Hello
Recently installed the new uDK R0 ROM, which works great. However, I'd like to use a norwegian T9 layout. I tried installing gullum keyboard + gullum norsk, tried a couple of multilanguage cabs, and a regular norwegian t9 cab I found here on the forums (not all at once). Problem is, in the T9 setup dialog, the "Norwegian"-option is never displayed, no matter what I do. I only get blank inputs in the list, as shown in the attached image. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong here?
http://img216.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screen01sl2.jpg
Anyone?
Have you tried to select any of the blank ones? I selected the blank above 'Swedish' and that works fine for me!
No good.. On some of them, nothing happened when I pressed the keys. One of them messed up the display.
Try to add one of this http://rapidshare.com/files/93686701/T9_Language_input_cabs.rar and then edit the registry in HKLM/Software/Tegic/eT9 so that the registry for the language you want is similar to the others. It worked for me with the portuguese keyboard on the wwe official rom which is the base for Syrius R0. Good luck
After a reboot I got it working selecting one of the blank/empty fields in the language bar. Thanks

Hi pereirald,
I have installed the T9_Portuguese.cab but the Portuguese Language still didn't appear at the T9 languages. Only English, French, Italian, German and Spanish is available.
Can you explain better what I need to do in the registry key HKLM/Software/Tegic/eT9 ?
Thanks.
Hi pgomes2000,
I have the same issue that you have. I believe we have to check wich code is for Portuguese language and configure that code , in the registry, the same way that are done for the other languages.
checkout this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402077
I haven't tried yet...
Thanks
I have created the registry entries, and now I have a language "Blanks", but it didn't work. The full QWERTY didn't have chars, and the compact QWERTY write numbers....
I think there is something wrong or missing in the registry update.
thanks for the help.
lol i wish i had that problem. hebrew isn't even planned for it
For Portuguese Users
1-Install the cab.
2-Soft reset
3-Choose portuguese
Now you should have portuguese dictionary working at least on "20" keyboard. On normal phone keypad sometimes it does not work altough it works very well with the official wwe rom. The keyboard does not shows our special characters though. So here we go:
4-on HKLM/software/tegic/et9 add 116 to the availabçle languages tring
5-on HKLM/software/tegic/et9/sip/LanguageKeyboardIDMapping add a string 116=916
6-on HKLM/software/tegic/et9/sip/bitmaps create a new key a name it 0B16
7-on HKLM/software/tegic/et9/sip/bitmaps copy everything inside 0B0C key and paste it inside the key you created.
8-inside the new key 0B16 ýou created on HKLM/software/tegic/et9/sip/bitmaps correct every entrance with fra to ptg (for example the string LowerCaseDown=L20-fra-map_down.png and you edit it to L20-ptg-map_down.png
9-soft reset.
10-you should have portuguese keyboard functioning as well as the dictionary
Good luck
thanks pereirald
it worked perfectly for the "Compact QWERTY", both keyboard and dictionary, but for "Full QWERTY" the keyboard don't input any char and don't have the "ç" !!!
I'm seeing that to have other keyboards and dictionaries, it's very complicated
Actually I can write with the full keyboard and you can choose ç from the special charaters (second key from the bottom left) as well as é, ã and others. Try the full keyboard after writing something with other keyboard. Just change the input and try to keep writing. Does it work?
I can only input characters in the "Full QWERTY" if I disable T9.
But it's ok, i have now a way to write with T9 dictionary in the compact keyboard.
