FM Radio volume problem - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom General

Anyone else having problems with the FM radio volume? I have my Atom Pure about a month now, I have updated to the latest ROM and can play music and sounds at full volume.
However, the FM Radio is barely audible. I have tried soft-reset, ensured the equaliser is off, gone into the FM radio application directly (as opposed to via the O2 plus media), every thing. I have also Googled for an answer and can't seem to find any reference to this problem. I have increased the volume in the FM radio application, but it doesn't appear to have any effect.
To really top things off, I recorded the FM radio to a file, played it back and it was at normal volume!
Any ideas?

Go to "Settings->Headset Volume Limiter" and move the level to right most.

I don't have that in Start->Settings (or anywhere else I can see).
Am I looking in the wrong place?

Did you ever apply Volume Limiter Patch?
Did you ever tried to adjust the volume control on the headset?

Don't I feel the complete and utter plonker? I have only now noticed that there is a volume control on the headset itself.
Problem solved. Doh! And mega-DOH!

Is there a way to increase the volume coming out through the "stereo" speakers on the phone itself?
I find the speaker volume for FM Radio is very low

i have an atom exec and similar problem. setting the headset volume does not help at all.
but there is no issue when playing mp3. looks like the problem is inherent with the fm radio.

BT volume - can't longer adjust

Weird. My volume control no longer works if I try to adjust BT headset volume by using volume slider. Suddenly. Anoyne knows how to bring it back to life?
TIA
Did you install the new AKU2 ROM update?
I think this changed the BT volume behavior.

Yes, I did. Why it alway like that with M$??? Why remove such a usefull feature??
I do see your point but for me I was actually glad the behavior changed - I always have the volume up to maximum for when I hold the JAMin to my ear for regular calls but when it pairs with my car's handsfree it was always too loud and distorted.
I was always adjusting the volume up or down on the device depending on where I was.
Now after the new ROM I just set the device on max and the car volume the way I like it and I'm all set.

Any volume boost app for SYSTEM volume??

I am listening to streaming radio and transferring the sound to my bluetooth headset, but often even with headset, media player, and physical system volume turned up to maximum, it is barely audible.
Is there any app that works on the WM6 Touch/Vogue that will increase the overall system volume, rather than the call-talking volume, so that things like music and streaming radio can be made louder than the default maximum? Boost it higher than the built-in level?
Thanks...
I too have that problem. Anybody have any idea of where or how can you boost your speakerphone audio?
try using this.
Installed the cap on device, what exactly is this as I dont see any new program installed under programs.
That's because it's installed under the Settings tab. It's just a equalizer that can increase certain aspects of the sound

Does this increase the volume using a regular BT headset?
I have the Moto H700 and the volume is low when driving in my truck. I have the volume all the way up on the headset and I sometimes have problems hearing people.
It is fine as long as I'm in a quiet area, but the reason I bought the BT headset is to use it while driving since its safer than holding the phone to my ear.
I've already tried the audiopara.csv file and that increased the speaker but it didn't seem to affect BT.

I too have the same problem w/H700. I have searched high and low and have found there are many with this problem. It seems like it is a WM 6.1 issue.
Is there any possible way to increase the volume to the BT headset? This is a major inconvenience to many and I think it should be addressed by MS. Maybe one of the senior members here have some sort of tweak for this problem.
Thanks.

Graphic equalizer

I listen to the internet radio through the loudspeaker, never with earphones. Consequently I can't use the audiobooster so I was wondering, is there a standalone graphic equalizer that will work without having headphones attached? I use Wunder Radio.
Also, as a secondary issue, the volume control is a problem. I have to use the up/down volume control on the side of the handset but this means that when I lower the radio volume (even the lowest setting is way too loud), my system volume is then on super-quiet setting after I've closed my radio....and I don't hear my text alerts etc.
Is there a way to adjust the volume in apps without adjusting the phone volume settings?
I'm not sure about the graphic equalizer but you can sort your sound issue by going to Settings>Sound & Display and switching the Single volume setting to off. That will allow you to change system sounds (including the volume of your radio software) without affecting the ring volume.
Use SRS WOW. Search it.

Sorry for the stupid question, but which application do you use for internet radio? Thanks, and happy holidays!

It is precisely the system volume which is my problem, this governs text alert notifications amongst other things. Once you have set system volume levels in the sounds menu, they should stay 'set'. I don't like this ability to adjust them using the volume control on the side of the handset - that should be reserved solely for in-call volume adjustments and application volume adjustments.

Adjust A2DP Volume from phone?

Did a search, but "A2DP Volume" returns mainly headset reccomendations etc.
Just got a Altec lansing T515. Bargain at just £15 inc p+p!
Paired up fine with the HD2 and seems to work great so far (for the price).
My only dissapointment is that the volume controls on the phone do nothing to the volume of the headset/speakers.
I was really planning on getting some good use out of this wireless audio through a better amp and speakers but would really need to be able to use the HD2 as a remote control (Inc volume control).
Is there an app/utility/reg hack that will let me adjust the A2DP volume directly on the HD2???
Any and all advice greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
try it with windows media player and not the htc sense music player
Thanks mate, tried that.... same deal (almost).
When I adjust the volume inside WMP it still does nothing to the volume of the speaker/headset BUT when I press the mute button or lower the vol to 0% the sound on the BT Speaker DOES mute.
Also at one point I did get some funky 'pairing' problem where the wireless volume was changing using the HD2 volume rocker but the sound quality was terrible. Not sure what happened but I switched off/on bluetooth and when the devices paired again - the sound was back to good quality but the volume no longer worked.
Can anyone please confirm that I should be able to control the volume using the HD2 on ANY A2DP headset/speaker?
I'm currently using EnergyRom Maxsense 23xx 24th July.
Might switch to the 21July 23121 CHT ROM instead to see if that changes things.
But can anyone first please confirm that this SHOULD be working? or let me know of a regHack /cab/app I need to use or apply to get this 'remote volume' working?
Anyone help on this ^^^ please?
Same problem here with expensive Sony headset and reasonably priced JVC. Report it to HTC as a fault. No fix yet afaik
hmm well im getting my jaybird sportsband in a few days through mail, ill report in on if they work or not
This problem i have with all my bluetooth headsets ( i have had 3 ) and also have with the altec lansing soundblade (a bluetooth speaker - really cool)
the problem is that the volume control in software only effects the audio drive,a but A2D2 driver is on a different path so not affected.
For me has not been a problem because volume is always outputted at max via A2D2 and then i use volume control on the headsets or the speaker to reduce as required.
But i see if you have a headset without volume control then this can be a major problem.
Only method i did find to adjust volume via software was install SRSwow and in the options it is having 2 gain settings, input and output. Adjusting these does affect A2D2 volume.
I know its not a fix but it is a work around that may be usefull untill someone has a better option for you
Thanks very much for your input peeps!
rumpleforeskin: (Funniest name Ive seen all week lol)
Sounds like its not just a problem with my headset/speaker (or headset / ROM combo).
Ive got volume controls (which do work) On the headset adapter and on the speaker, but I REALLY want/need to be able to control volume remotely as I was planning to link the adapter to an amp without a remote control.
Looks like SRSWow might be the solution for now....I'll give it a try and report back tonight.
Thanks again for all your help chaps.
I actually fear this could be a demonstration the output audio is hardware wired and not software driven, thus meaning full incall recording will never be possible.

doubt it man, on the iphone 3gs on 3.0 u couldnt switch the volume of the headset through the phone but now with the 4.0 software u can , so its just a case of misssing software.
I use tcpmp and I can control the volume from the software while using my BT headsets (peltor)

Tried this ^^^, Works great for everything, thanks!
Only slight problem is a ~4 second lag between adjusting the volume and the change in actual volume.
Dont suppose there is any tweak to remedy this??
Thanks again for the help.

Radio Volume is too loud!

Hi guys,
I'm using the FM Radio and when I put the earphones in, and put the phone on the lowest volume level, it's still very loud. Can I change this in some registry entry perhaps? is there any application or trick to lower the volume?
Sorry for my bad english.

Have you tried different ear/headphones? Seems very strange to me your getting this problem since most other people need to increase the volume to the max for louder volume...
Try using alternative ear/headphones & get back to us.
with everything else is fine, I tried to change other headphones, but the result is the same.
With all other programs the volume is ok, only the radio is high!
I have the same problem, radio is too loud at lowest volume and mutes below that. It's not deafening, just too loud at night when it's quiet.
