3,6 Mbit/s HSDPA is reality at T-Mobile & A1 in Austria - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

to all you "wise" men out there!
yes, I know ther difference between bit and byte!
i just want to repeat that network speed for hsdpa in austria is up to 3,6 Mbit/s in some rural regions-
so my question once more is:
did anyone test the TyTN aka MDA Vario II in these regions?
-what are the maximum benchmarks?
-yes there is an actual QUALLCOMM-Chipset for up to 7,2Mbit/s HSDPA download speed --- see the HUWAEI USB-MODEM FROM A1!

The chip in TyNT "only" allows up TO 1.8 Mbps

HTC Touch Pro on AT&T's US 3G network?

Does anyone have an unbranded HTC Touch Pro working on AT&T's US 3G network? I've tried three different ROMs (2 of which were AT&T branded, complete with 3G bootup screen) and the latest radio stack I could find and it continually connects with EDGE only.
Voice works fine, but data is obviously slow (40kbit a sec or so) rather than the faster 3G speeds I've been used to on previous phones. This same SIM plugged into a Fuze or a Tilt will work fine on 3G in the same locations, so it's definitely something specific to this HTC Touch Pro.
Is the European-spec GSM freqs different from the AT&T US ones? Both list 850 and 1900mhz.
Any suggestions? Sorry if this is a noob question, but I'm at my wits end and am getting frustrated with what seems like a great phone with SLOW connectivity.
IIRC the standard / unbranded GSM HTC Touch Pro is HSDPA 900 / 2100:

I don't think you'll be able to get 3G.

I was wondering if something like that might be the problem, and had checked HTC's own website for the Touch Pro @ http://www.htc.com/us/product/touchpro/specification.html
I saw :
HSPA/WCDMA:
Europe/Asia: 900/2100 MHz
Up to 2 Mbps up-link and 7.2 Mbps down-link speeds
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
Europe/Asia: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
(Band frequency and data speed are operator dependent
...I'd initially only noticed the GSM frequencies, but now that you point it out, it's obvious that the DATA part runs on 900/2100 -- appears I'm screwed. :-(
Thanks for clearing this up for me!

HD2 HSDPA speed

With T-mobile USA's promise of 21mbps hsdpa next year and the rumored release of the HD2 for T-mobile USA I've gotten to thinking. The HD2 is currently listed as being capable of 7.2 mbps hsdpa, which I realize T-mobile USA doesn't even have yet. So is hsdpa speed a software or hardware issue? And assuming it is software does anyone have any thoughts on how likely it is there will be an update, official or xda. Sorry if this is a dumb question, it just seems dumb to buy an amazing phone like the HD2 and not get the best download speeds around.
Mobile Operators usually limit the HSDPA speeds. On my HD2 in my location I experience some 1.7Mbs via HSDPA, while WiFi provides some 6-7MBs.
The 7.2 MBps is a hardware limit for the HD2, though. Can't get it any faster with software updates.
I'm getting approx 1.25 mbps with 3G here (VF-CZ).

TD2 and wind mobile

here in canada we got a new phone provider called wind mobile that operates a 1700mhz UMTS network (not 100% sure) my td2 didn't work on it but i was wondering if its possible to flash a radio rom that would let me connect to their network. they have unlimited data plans you see, a first for us because rogers is painfully expensive.
also if someone could confirm that my td2 would work with rogers' hspa network because right now im not using 3g and have no way of knowing if ill get full speed (not edge) if i get a data plan.
hope someone here can answer me, thx in advance!
HSDPA/WCDMA:
Europe/Asia: 900/2100 MHz
Up to 2 Mbps up-link and 7.2 Mbps down-link speeds
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
Europe/Asia: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
(Band frequency, HSUPA availability, and data speed are operator dependent.)
Straight from HTC's website.
ok so if rogers is on 850/1900 HSDPA and the TD2 supports those frequencies under GSM (not hsdpa - thats what it says): the question is will it work?
and im guessing theres no way to make it support 1700mhz even with the most intense hacking am i rite?
You're right
UMTS frequency cannot be altered by software hacks, it's hardware dependent
ok so i just got data (fido network) and im stuck on the edge network. using HTC's default 6.5 rom. is there anyway i can get hspa speeds on this thing??

S3 GT-I9308(China) and the GT-I9300(International)

Hello everyone,
I was looking for an S3 to buy but found that there are 2 version of it(that i know of). I have checked wikipedia to see if there were any big differents between the GT-I9308 and GT-I9300 versions and most of it is the same except the Max network speed.
While the GT-I9300 has a max network speed of 21 Mbit/s HSPA+, the GT-I9308 only has a max network speed of 2.8 Mbit/s TD HSDPA.
Anyone knows if this is correct or just a wiki error? Cause 2.8Mbit/s is not much. Does this mean that if i have a good conncetion, i will always get only 2.8Mbit/s has max speed?
Thank you
+1
no, the biggest different is
9308 uses TD-SCDMA network but mainly worldwide operators use WCDMA, CDMA(2000) or other 4G network.
which means i9308 only good for China , incompatible with other networks
but it DOES compatible with GSM , but its speed you know ...

Lock LTE to band 7 (2600 MHz)

Hi
I have problems with my mibile broadband and they could not fix it so the wanted me to send my modem to them and it was nothing wrong with it and the r*tards then said that I needed to test another modem to see if the on I have now is broken?????
Anywho, my speeds is 60 % of the time at 10-30 mbit%s 39.99999% ut's under 3 mbit/s so it's useless and every other full moon it's pumping out +60 mbit/s.
The best speeds in Sweden from Telenor is on band 7 so is it possible to lock the G" so it only uses that band, and if so, how?
Sorry for my s*itty english...
Thanks.
