Request - Phone Skin! - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Guys,
Not sure which version has the phone skin as below but I know it is not the HTC or Vodafone. If possible can someone please dump and zip the relevant files for this skin if they have it (English version).
Just to add, I have tried to disable the operator skin but it then only gives me a 2D plain pad with no Video Button etc...
Many Thanks

There are some phone skins HERE in the wiki, however, I don't think the one your looking for is there...yet.

Thanks, I had already tried all the skins listed. I presume this one is the default "3D" WM5 phone Skin, not positive though. Most have replaced this with their own skin in the actual rom rather than external rom.
Someone must have this though, perhaps on Orange, 02 or Dopod version.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think I got it all...

This is the default installed dialpad from the latest Hermes i-Mate ROM.
Hopefully I got every BMP and DLL file associated with this dialpad. I also exported the registry items associated with this dialpad.
Try this:
Unzip the files into the Windows directory on the Hermes, then import the included registry file.
Let me know if I missed anything.

Thanks Freshster,
After some persevering with copying the files over all looks fine except the VT Button, for some reason this is still the same as before despite the files being overwritten. I also have VCBtn.. and VTBtn.. files (may be due to previous installs. I have renamed your files to these, and copied them over, this changes the button but it is not perfect as there are pink corners visible and the is no text etc.. on it.
Also looks like the .dll that contains the Call History Icons overwrites the Icon that displays the "G" "U" in the top bar, I used to have 3G etc.. but now have "G" and "U".
Also, the Icons whilst in the Video page have not changed.
One more thing thing, the IntelliDialler small icons are not there either, on my v1650 they are in a file called "indialer_calltype.bmp", in fact need all the Intellidialler files..... as mine is all grey.
Have played for a while now but am at a loss, sorry.....
Any advise appreciated.
Greatly appreciate you time on this.

Hi cieplowsk,
I have attached ALL of the BMP files currently in the i-Mate ROM Windows directory. This should help you find which images you are missing.
I don't know if I can help you with the G and U problem, but these BMPs should help fix the VT Button, Video page, and Intellidialer icons.
Let me know how it goes.

Copying all the files, once I had removed non phone connected ones worked a treat, I now have the iMate Dialer which in my opinion is much nicer than the Vodafone and HTC ones....
The only thing left is for someone to butcher the .DLL`s to remove the Call History icons and stick them back in to the original Vodafone ones so that we can keep the 3G network icons rather than the U and G icons.
Oh and create a CAB file. Not asking much am I!
Thanks again for your time and effort!

Thanks. Just installed it too!
Cab would be great too.

One more thing I have just noticed, after changing the background on the phone pad, is thet the Video button and the other buttons on the Video Call page do not have transparent corners.
I have just spent a while editing the bmp`s and colouring the corners with colour R=255, G=0, B=255 (Magenta) in Corel Photo Paint (did not change the bmp format and it appears to be the same as the other bmps which are correct). When loaded the corners actually come out magenta rather than transparent. I guess I am missing something somewhere Any budding artists out there care to elighten me or have a go?
Cheers.

Hi cieplowski,
I had the same problem, but after adding the registry keys in the previous post it will work.
I've made a CAB file so you can install it in one go.
Cheers,
Drifter

Thanks Drifter,
Nice work but I think that there may be an isssue as when I install it does not skin the Video button at all, not sur if some files are missing from the cab. Have tried 3 times now.
Cheers!

Did you try a Soft Reset after installation?
CAB file seems to work with my HTC.
Cheers,
Drifter

Yeah several times, will try again later tonight. May be down to the fact I have the Vodafone version and the phone pad is in rom...
If I manually copy over the files it is ok.
On the other point re. the corners of the Video button, even if I import the reg. settings, then change the wallpaper to something lighter in colour the corners are not transparent, it you edit the .bmp files you can see that the corners on the video button are not transparent but filled in.
Cheers.

How did you create the CAB? What prog did you use?
It seems that you are missing some files in there, like the important DLL files listed in the registry settings. You have also included some unnecessary BMP files.
Thanks for your work.

Freshster,
I've used your second post with attachment to make this cab file.
But used the registry key from the first.
Now I see these dll file from the first and forgot to implement them in my cab file.
This could be the problem for cieplowski.
I will make a new one but should I use the first or second post?
I've use WinCE Cab manager for making these files

Hi Drifter,
Please find attached .zip with all the necessary files, I think. not sure if you know how but many of the .bmp`s are missing transparent corners.
You can see this if you view them as thumbnails or open them. This does cause a problem if you change the background from the default one supplied as some of the buttons no longer have nice rounded corners.
I have tried to edit them as mentioned above but have not been successful.
Can someone advise on what program to use to make these transparent and the process. I am happy to edit them all but just need to know the process.
Cheers.

This does look like all of the files necessary.
For the transparency problem I would take a look at the following link and make sure you are doing everything correctly:
http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_simpleboard/Itemid,59/func,view/catid,36/id,5075/#5075
The two things that I would be sure of is:
1) the transparent color is : RGB=FF,00,FF (255,0,255)
2) you have to create buttons and background in bmp 8 bits 256 colors
Hope this helps, but the original files should have worked for you, not unless your ROM is looking for a different transparency color. Which ROM are you using? Can you post screenshots of the problem images?

Hi Freshter,
I cannot post anything at the moment as left my phone at the office. However if you have time could you change the Bkgnd_Land.bmp file to one much lighter in colour, hopefully you will then see that the corners are not transparent on the Video Call button (and all other vidoe related buttons). From what I can see using the supplied background just disguises these corners. If you open, for example, VTBtnDn_Port.BMP in any editor or viewer you will see that the corners are not transparent (magenta) in colour and they even have a gradient so cannot be transparent.
I am pretty sure the rom and all eles is ok, as the other files, which if examined will show the corners as a magenta colour and these are transparent on my phone, it is only all the Video related buttons which do not have the transparency on them.
I shall keep looking to see why my efforts were not successful in sorting the corners so far.
Cheeers.
Hope this explains things a little better.

I made the background lighter and I see what you mean now.
It seems that the Video buttons may have something to do with a resource dll, but I can't find which one it is.
Check out the following link; it shows how to fix the Video button on a MDA Pro, but our ROM doesn't contain the "phcanlrc.dll" or the "phcanprc.dll" files to modify.
http://buzzdev.net/component/option...view/id,13650/catid,36/limit,15/limitstart,0/
This is something to really think about.
I guess you could just modify the BMP files to match your background, but that would be tedious.

WM5 Themes "Origami Suite" (ROM 2.17 or higher)

Have you ever taken a look at the gallery section over on www.origamiproject.com ? It's filled with a bunch of pretty nice-looking wallpapers for UMPCs, but UMPCs aren't available until much later, rendering these small wallpapers useless... until now. I've picked ten different images from that gallery and customized themes for each of them (creating eleven themes total). I also enhanced the themes to fit in with a somewhat universal layout for the today screen.
Keep in mind that these themes are designed for Wizard users with the latest Qtek ROM (2.17 or higher) installed! The reason I say this is because the date on the today screen takes up two lines in the newer ROM, and the today screen background reflects the position of the date bar. If you're confused, take a look at the previews below, you'll see what I mean.
Anyway, as I was saying before, each theme has carefully selected colors to best match their backgrounds, and all of them work in both portrait and landscape mode. I tried my hardest to smooth out the gradients that sometimes give problems on PPC screens. Oh, and I also thought of a cheezy name for each one. The previews along with a ZIP of all the themes are attached to this post, so go crazy. And if you haven't updated to the latest ROM yet, shame on you. Go do it, you won't regret it.
P.S. - If anybody knows how to skin the Phone screen (where you dial the number and everything), PLEASE let me know. It really, really clashes with a lot of these themes...
AND... if anybody knows how to make the date take up only one line, move the clock to the top, and put the battery back at the bottom, that would be amazing. That way I could re-make all these themes so that they could work with EVERYBODY that has a WM5 device!
very nice. just applied the first theme on my exec
Great job with the themes! I hope you are able to find out about skinning the phone screen and reducing the Date Bar to one line.
Beautiful yanathin! Thanks for putting the effort into these great themes.
very clean look you have going on there.
Are those icons along the bottom just regular shortcuts? If so I'm gonna have to look into how to do that myself.
great work!
Thanks for the compliments everybody! Yes, the bottom basically acts like SBSH iLauncher or SPB Pocket Plus's launcher. It's a single part of the PHM PowerToys ( http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/PowerToys/ ) called "TrayLaunch." You'd be utterly amazed at how fast this device runs WITHOUT SPB Pocket Plus installed, even without a "real" close button.
Amazing themes and even better work yanathin!!
Yes great work !
Thanks
Really nice ones, allready installed, thx !
change background dialpad
I haven't found a way to change the keys of the dialpad yet but i have a simple way to change the background of your dialpad in combination with plain darkgrey keys:
Download the attached file and run it on your mobile to get the darkgrey "keys" from Vodafone, these keys match best with whatever background you want to use:
(file is also at: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/Misc/Vodafone_dialpad.zip)
Next you create in MS Paint / Photoshop or whatever program you like, two BMP image files with the following properties, you can use any file as background.
- name: "Bkgnd_Port.bmp" / resolution: 240x268 pixels (portrait)
- name: "Bkgnd_Land.bmp" / resolution: 320x188 pixels (landscape)
Copy these files to the \windows folder on your mobile and overwrite the existing vodafone skin.
After a soft-reset your dialpad has changed!
I changed mine to plain gray:
I love those themes!
for dialpad skins, take a look at http://www.zombienexus.net/

As far as i know it's a cab from German Vodafone. It works perfectly with my Dutch NL ROM, therefor i think it should also work with a WWE ROM because it just gets the language of the ROM-version.

How to make the phone app matching the default Windows theme

Dear all,
I'm just trying to find a nice theme for my Tytn. Up to know I prefer the Windows Defeault (the blue one) instead of the Htc_default. Just one thing, is there a way to match the phone application with the Windows Default theme colours. I mean, when you press the talk button and lanch the phone app (the one with the phone keyboard or the call list) it is always in green (wallpaper, buttones, etc). Is there a way or a software to modify it and make it in blue?
Thanks alot, Diego

Hope it is what you are looking for.

very nice although maybe a bit dark. Is it possible to unwind it.....
Hi,
I guess you could edit all the buttons and change the backgrund to make it lighter in colour but it is a lot of work!
One thing I did notice and have tried to overcome it by editing .dll files with no success is that the Video buttons do not have transparent corners so if you change the background the corners are visible. However once you decide on your background you can then edit the VT buttons and colour the corneres to match.
Google "WinCE Cab Manager", download it (if you dont have it already), you can then edit the Cab file.
Please share any changes you may make.
Cheers.
cheers
OK, here is one with a lighter blue background so you can see the black text better
That's awesome... now I just need to find how to change the skin of the "communication manager"... where you can turn on/off BT, Wi-Fi etc... this is still in red :-D
Thanks alot to all of you... you rock!

[MOD] (25-09-2008) No more Start! Guided Procedure...

Hi everybody,
at the end a contribute of mine... Hope you will find interesting.
I finally find out what is needed to change both the Title and the Icon in the main WM6 taskbar. You can see attached my mod with no text and Htc green arrow icon. I'm building up a guided procedue to act if I find you really interested and if moderator finds it legal . For the moment I can only suggest you that you have to modify shellres.192.dll in order to change the Icon (icon numbers 292/293) and shellres.dll.xxxx.mui in order to change the Start text (xxxx is localization code i.e. 0410 for Italy!).
Let me know what do you think about it and then I'll go on with the suggestions!
Cheers!
Guided Procedure:
---------------------------
What you need:
1 ROM Extractor for WM
2 Res Hacker
3 Siggner (attached)
4 Resco Explorer/Total Commander
5 You can change the Start Title editing the shellres.dll.xxxx.mui at the string table resource number 321
6 You can change the Icon editing the shellres.192.dll file at the Icon Resource number 292/293 (Icon must be 21x21)
First of all you have to extract those two files from \Windows folder of your device. Those file are blocked because ROM so you need the freeware ROMExtractor to copy them from \Windows to the internal storage folder. Then you can copy them on your PC hard-drive to manipulate. !!Keep them safe because they are your original ones!!
To edit them you absolutely need the freeware Res Hacker. Open the files with it and edit the resource as you want. Save. Normally ResHacker make an original copy of the file. If not, be sure to keep safe your originals!
When you save your changes, the dlls lose their integrity and you absolutelly must sign them again to let your device accepts as originals.
Use attached Mssigner to act like that.
If txt log says succeded (not the application, you have to check the txt file to verify if it's succeded!) now you are ready to copy those files back to yor \windows on the device. Use Resco Explorer o Total Commander to do that.
Overwrite when you're asked.
Soft Reset...
Is everything all right!!?
When you'll become confortable with the proc you will probably be able to edit a lot more of Windows resource and customize your system!
Let me know your tries, guys!
that is very nice. I haad never liked those letters, however i would like to keep the windows logo.
Nice! Because I use WkTASKchange, the application icons in the taskbar let me know what is running, but they also cover the focused application title. That looks bad. So, I'd like to remove the application title in the taskbar. Without changing the Start icon, if possible. Although it sure is nice to change that as well
how do i change the "start" text? where do i get images (ie ".ico") to replace the original windows icon( preferably a black logo of windows)?
Thanks.

It can be cool to hide the start menu if it helps to put more things in the task bar

Sorry for the off topic.. Yes, WkTASK Manager works fine. I've excluded manila.exe, repllog.exe and HTCActionScreen.exe, through the Preferences - Excluded tab, for instance. Not familiar with your demarrage process though..

Or something like this:
What size does the icon need to have? and does it have to be a .ico or can it be any image?
I hope the most answers are on the first post!
Wait for your replies!
BRICKED!
Well, that didn't go too well!
The first attempt resulted in a bricked phone, I had to hard reset as it wouldn't boot. The second attempt I was a bit more careful but now all my icons appear messed up (in File Explorer folders and files are books and message icons, no start icon at all etc.).
I'm a bit confused by the instructions, firstly, in shellres.192.dll, if I export icon 292 with Res Hacker it is 41x36. If I have a look at Icon Group 4609 it is listed as a 41x41 icon. I know you mentioned it should be 21x21 but this doesn't seem right, I would have expected 32x32!
Anyway, I tried from scratch using a 21x21 icon and it still messes up all my icons. I think I will leave it for now until someone makes an App or Cab file.
I am using SwiftBL v7 ROM by the way
Mmm... Strange...
Since I found out the trick it's my 10/12nd attemp to change icons and texts and everytime it worked fine!!
Anyway, her you are some information (Look the attachment):
- I'm on official rom 1.93.408 ITA (the htc official latest one)
- after a lot of succesfully changes on my device I can absolutely say that icon must be 32x23 16M colors and the right icon is number 292.
I will take some time to understand what's the difference on your ROM...
Let's keep in touch...
isnt there an easy way to change them letters?
I noticed the same issue's as wired69 did.
But in your instructions you say that the icon size has to be 21x21 but later you post and i quote:
- after a lot of succesfully changes on my device I can absolutely say that icon must be 32x23 16M colors and the right icon is number 292.

If so could you please update your instructions.
Do you only have to change icon number 292 or both 292/293? That was a bit confusing to.
Hoping you will help.
P.S. Which certificate do you use for the signing part because the .mui signes just fine but the .dll does not.

Indeed my friend!
Bricked, but solved now !
Hello,
when I had two times bricked my diamond after signing and installing new mui file, I found, where the problem was.
I removed "Start" text from menu for better view of WkTask, then I signed file with mssigner. When I copied new mui to windows folder, my diamond became a brick :O The main problem was in missing SDKCert.cab. Because when you are signing with SDK certs edited mui, you have to install SDKCerts.
Now it looks for my needs, screenshot included.

15 Tab Icon Sets

This thread is to share your 15 tab icon sets. I didnt create any of the icons, I just sized them and put them together in the manilla files (see my screenshot below). If you like them just run the cab on you HD.
** Update 12/6/2008 ***
Added a game systems icon set. These are icons of game consoles (NES, Dreamcast, Xbox, PS3 etc.) I will add a screenshot later. THey dont match up with anything specific to your phone function lol, just cool icons.
For icons that do not have a cab pelase follow TTDeg's advice for installing in the quote below:
TTDegs said:
This is some info I've picked up along the way, which MAY help anyone else thinking of playing here
First up - there are 2 manila files per icon.
I've called them Big and Small, just for ease of Ref
The Big one is the one which is displayed in the main 'window' of the phone as you drag over the tabs.
The Big one is displayed along the bottom of the screen
The Small one is displayed as you move your finger across the tabs, and is displayed 'in front' (over the top of) the Big one.
The Big ones are 128x128 pixels, and the Small ones seem to be 64x64 (but also seem to work if you use 128x128, so I need to dig further on that...) <<Mallman prefers 128x128 on both so the sizes dont change but that is just a preference>>
To use your new icons, you need to:
create them on your PC (Paintshop Pro or whatever)
convert them into manila files (Manila Editor for example)
Copy them to a seperate dir on the HD
Stop TF3D (Start, Settings, Today, Items [tab 2], untick TF3D)
Use a file explorer prog on the HD to copy them over the original manilas in the /windows dir. You can't do that from your PC, must be done on the HD itself.
Restart TF3D (reverse of above to stop it)
I strongly recommend you take a copy of the originals first, and put them somewhere safe
The 30 manila files are (in no particular order):

I've not installed them yet as I'm trying to ascertain whether it is possible. What would be ideal (for me) is to have 3 or 4 additional "Program" tabs that could be renamed so that I could add my applications / settings / tools etc. (i.e something approaching the menu panel/s in sbp mobile shell).
Judging by your icons I think not, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Let me know.
Cheers.

no sir, sure havent because i have absolutely no idea where to start If i were to try it I would simply copy the program tab and rename it to one of the other tabs but I dont know that it is that simple nor do I know if each tab is actually just 1 file. You should start a new thread dediacted to just that topic and have some folks brainstorm it. I will join in the fun

This thread is to share your 15 tab icon sets. I didnt create any of the icons, I just sized them and put them together in the manilla files (see my screenshot below). If you like them just:
1. Extract them to your PC
2. Stop TF3D on your device
3. Copy them to you device into the /windows folder
4. Start TF3D
5. Enjoy

Nice one sir
Ok, I think I'm up for this... *gulp*
I'll have a play, work out which pair relates to which tab, and see what I can come up with!
Watch this space (but please don't hold your breath - first attempt at this sort of thing, so might take a while...)
Cab in post #1 for this Linux icon set.
can t copy files
i tried to copy them to my /windows folder but my computer say i cant cause its protected or something. Anybody has a solution for this?
download total commander and copy them from your phone. dont use your pc to copy them to the /windows folder, use your phone to copy them

Here's me, struggling to find some pretty icons, AND work out which manila file is which, AND get my head round manila editor (ok, fair play, that wan't tooo difficult ).
And while I'm doing that, here you are not only posting up set number 2, but mucking round with the backgrounds aswell
Talk about moving the goalposts!
LOL - very nice work sir, nice one

LMAO, thank you I find it strangely addictive. I hope the work I have done is helping you. Simply unzip the files I have posted and you an "open path" with manil editor and see all the files and what they match up too in the TF3D interface. Get a good handle on it because I want to install some of your creations as we My goal is to completely overhaul all the graphics. Just takes lots of testing changes of manila files. Not hard, just time consuming
hmmm - this is harder than it looks! LOL
I'm having problems getting nice clean lines on the edges of my pics
What res are you saving them as before converting to manilas?
I went with creating a 128x128 pixel .png file
Dumped in the icon to pretty much fill it - which looks good at 1:1 view in paint shop pro, and saved that as the big version.
Then resized to 50%, pasted that into a new 128x128 .png, and saved that as the small version.
But when I convert to manila, then drag to my HD and restart TF3D, the icon in the tabflo looks good, the bigger verson (when you drag over it) just looks 'ok', and the biggest version (middle of the main screen) looks frankly pretty poor

I am using 128x128 exclusively. Some pics I get are not sized that way so I just change them in photoshop to 128x128. I also use PS to make transparency. Post a few screeners showing what you mean becuse im a little slow and having a hard time following what you are describing
my bad
My last step was to set the transparency, and the option I was using to go down to 256 colours was resulting in some jagged edges (couldn't see them in PS).
Working better now - will plow on now I know where I was going wrong LOL
cheers again!
I can confirm however that this isn't going to be up to production standards just yet...
Pretty close now...
mallman, could you please confirm the manila name for the small stock icon?
I've updated 34588a9a, but it's the only one which is still displaying the previous (std) icon instead of one of my new ones?

haha i know your pain. No i cant actually because i gave up tryign to figure it out when i finally just updated 4 manila files and of those 4 the icon was changed. i didnt feel like doing the research of replacing them again to figure out which actually did it. I resolved myself to just changing 4 files when i want to update the stock icon I know, im a slack ass but that is just how I roll
LOL!
ok.............
Thought I had it - but I don't.
small icons are 64x64, not 128x128.
And I thought I'd sussed which one was used in the main screen...
And my stock one was right up to the edge...
resized everything, dumped it all back in.
And now it looks worse - the background icons (small ones I think) are resized to bigger than my big ones.
and the stock STILL doesn't work right.
and it's midnight.
So I'm off to bed before I end up staying up till silly o'clock LOL
Hi.
Could those icons themes be used for the standard tabs?. I haven't installed the 15 tab set (well I tried, but I finally didn't like how it looks), so I keep the standard tabs.
I suppose that if I install those iconsets the new icon will appear in the standard tabs anyway....
Thanks.
yes (I think), and no...
I haven't tried, so I can't confirm that they will - but as I've been replacing the manila files left right and centre, of the 30 I've replaced, most of them gave a 'the file you are replacing is part of the ROM, are you sure?' message.
Which I take to mean that they are the ones used by standard TF3D.
The extra files just won't be used
I can't see any reason not to try it - but as ever, I would suggest taking a backup of the manila files you are about to replace, just in case
In the interim, whilst trying not to give into temptation to pull the rest of my hair out, this is some info I've picked up along the way, which MAY help anyone else thinking of playing here
First up - there are 2 manila files per icon.
The Big ones are 128x128 pixels, and the Small ones seem to be 64x64 (but also seem to work if you use 128x128, so I need to dig further on that...)

[THE] Make a Rhodium/HTCTouchPro2 MyMobiler Skin

Hi all
(Excuse me for my very bad english, I'm french )
I would like to have a skin for MyMobiler, which looks like Rhodium devices.
I have tried the Diamond skin, but it didn't match for the screen, because the resolution is different (640x480 for the Diamond and 800x480 for Rhodiums)
The Diamond skin is available here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466565
I think you can easily adapt this Diamond skin for Rhodium resolution values (400x800px).
I don't know how to do this, so if someone would be able to make one, it will be a very good thing for all MyMobiler users who have a Rhodium !
Thanks !
Sam

Hi salucsam,
give me a little bit time and it is reday for the TP2. I never know that it is possible for the TP2. But i have changed some things in MyMobiler. I have a very nice grafic for that (link).
Waouw Nice skin indeed ! I've download it immediately.
Well, I think you know MyMobiler software, so if you can do a skin for MyMobiler as beautiful as the skin you made for Manila, its gona be perfect ^^ Take all the time you need !

Hi salucsam,
it is ready for 80%. But i have one problem. About the grafic is
a BMP file the background i have is white and i cant make it
transparent. Ok i have one more idea but i must test it.
At least the 4 little control button. But this i a case of time .
I love the hacking and modding stuff.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Edit:
It is ready. A little bit quick and dirty. At this time only the background
and the zoom factor to 70%. You can change the factor in the xml file.
So be my guest and test it please....
Very good ! But.. Not perfect, as you will see on the screenshot I have take :
http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=842663screenshot01.jpg
Now, you just have to find a solution to have a background which is at 800x400px and not 640x480 like it is on this first skin you made (the white you see under. The screen is not complete)
And to find a solution for the white corners that you can see around the application. Look on my screenshot..
I really don't know xml code, so I can't help you for this -_-
Thanks, and good luck
Sam
Hi salucsam,
look at my screenshot. It is perfect.
And here the code from the XML file:
<form
position="0 0 480 800"
backgroundimage="tp2d.bmp"
clipcolor="FF00FF">
<control
id="200"
text="MobileView"
position="44 130 480 800"
zoom="70">
</control>
</form>
As you see it is 480x800 portrait mode.
I don't know whats happend on yor system.
Please check the xml file. You can open it
with the notepad or gvim.
Ok, its good for me now, for the HTC screen.
But for corners, I really don't know how to clear it...
Look at this new screenshot :
http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=575298screenshot2.png
As you see, the problem is those 4 black corners around the picture...I can only color them in black or white.
Do you know how to clear it ? I want them transparent, invisible.

The grafic is a BMP file. So there is no transparence possible. I can't change it to a PNG format because MyMobiler doesn't knows the format yet. Possible you can ask the author on http://www.mymobiler.com/.
Hi salucsam,
you found out more about your issues?
Did you guys get the hard buttons to work?
Awesome, I love this app, nice job!! still need some improvements.
I think MyMobilier need to be updated, with more skins and more functionality, but its great like is, specially WIFI

I think there is a way to get transparencies with a bmp file using an added Alpha layer to the original .bmp.
Ive been trying to get this skin to work but i can't even get it to show, any pointers?, as i can't work on the transparency if i cant test it!!
There is also a thread over on HD2 skinning my mobiler
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618050
EDIT got it to show! working on tranparency with Gimp!
I've only just noticed this thread!
I made a TP2 skin myself for MyMobiler a few weeks ago and I can tell you that MyMobiler has a bug that means the corners show when you use any other zoom level than 100% - the 'magic BMP colour' doesn't work at different levels. But, at 100% zoom, the bottom of the phone is cut off
I've tried e-mailing the MyMobiler author about these bugs a couple of times but he's never bothered to reply

Hi iridium, i was tried what i said above both in ginp and photoshop and although i can get the bmp to show transparent i can't get it to work on mymobiler, i have studied the HD2 thread on this and the touch pro and diamond threads, all the phone images seem to use this pinkish colour..what is this "magic colour" you speak of??! i have read what you have said about the bug and zoom etc, i am just interested to know as i spent a whole evening trying to work this one out!!!

Yeah, I spent a while on this too
If you have a look at defaultskin.xml, you'll see
Code:
clipcolor="FF00FF"
which is a kind of pink colour - this is the BMP colour that is treated as transparent and that's why the phone skins have that colour background in the corners. The only problem is, is that MyMobiler only shows the FF00FF colour code as transparent when it's at 100% zoom Drop down to 75% or 50% and the corners show.
Hope this explains what I've found out, please let me know if you find any more info?

Thanks for bringing me up to speed! ive just been testing the other skins as well and i now understand the same problem is for all, so unless you have a very tall screen it will always be the case.
I don't know about Xml but is there not a work around that we can trick the program into thinking it is displaying at 100% when it is displaying at 70? i'm guessing that would be 2 easy!!
My TP2/Rhodium Skin
I played around with this to get a skin to work. I am still having trouble with the start menu hard key, but the other buttons seem to work.
To get this skin to work, follow these steps:
1) Unzip the attached file to "\Program Files\My Mobile\MyMobiler\Skin\" directory. (It will extract to its own folder)
2) Edit the "\Program Files\My Mobile\MyMobiler\mymobiler.ini" and change the line for
Code:
SkinFile=Skin\DefaultSkin.xml
to read
Code:
SkinFile=Skin\TP2\skin.xml

Thanks man! I just tried it out, and it works almost perfect
First, I also had to change the line below that in the options:
"Showskin=0" to "Showskin=1"...Once I did that, the skin loaded fine.
There's just one small glitch, as it looks like the image has shifted "up" in the frame...it's cut off a bit at the top, and leaves a band showing down at the bottom (I'm including a screenshot to demonstrate). Hiding the toolbar improves it a bit obviously, but there's still a bit cutoff at the top.
Zoom works great though, no "squares" in any of the ratios I've tried
The "call" and "end" hardware buttons work just fine too...but the "home" and "back" buttons don't seem to respond.
I don't know if any of the issues are related to the fact I'm running a T-mobile TP2 instead of an unbranded or AT&T model like in this skin.
Anyway, thanks again for the effort, just wanted to give you some feedback from the field

Two questions really quick:
1) Which version of MyMobiler are you using? (mine is 1.25 Build 00122.0205.46)
2) Have you tried activating the skin through "View" -> "Show Skin"? Doing it this way turns off the toolbar completely leaving just the skin.
Thanks for the feedback!
