I have just taken receipt of my Tytn from HTC and was wondering if it would be possible to perform a rom upgrade so that i can get the O2 front screen which includes access to O2Active.
My current system details are as follows:-
ROM Version 1.18.255.3
ROM Date 22/07/2006
Radio Version 1.03.03.10
Protocol Version 32.34.7010.01H
ExtROM version 1.18.255.106
Any help on whether or not this is possible and a brief outline as to what i need to do will be greatly appreciated..

Igor, how do you access the internet if you don't use GPRS? My XDA automatically starts a GPRS connection when I start to surf the web.
Via GSM900 network. It offers its own access , though the speed is only 9,6kbps. But quite acceptable when you desperately need to go on-line.

I have downloaded the xdaunlock.exe file to unlock my Austrian T-Mobile MDA (you say XDA ;-)) - but when I start the programm the message tells me "error getting unlock code" - did I anything wrong? Can anybody help me please????

Costs you US$99.99 to get your phone unlocked. Just downloading SER v1.2 or cooking a 3.17.03 ROM with XDAunlock in the ROMkitchen is cheaper. Really.

Now that I think about it: it would be nice to offer the same functionality they seem to offer if we had the relationship between IMEI and unlock code, which appears to exist, at least on SX-56 phones. We thought about sending the IMEI and unlock code to a central depot back when we built The Manipulator. Maybe we should have...

You have a Qtek version, and you're trying to upgrade to O2. Just get Jeff's XDA-developers Special Edition ROM exe file and run it. It's a 3.17.03 with extras, and it will make you happy.

A diy on extracting AND restoring would be sufficient though - I know there are tools to extract ROMs but I was missing the part on how to resotre / build a .nbh from extracted information.
Next question would be on SPL - we would need a complete factory restore.
Still waiting if T-Mob will provide an update one of these days...
