8125 unlocked? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Maybe I,m not getting it!!! I have read and read some more about sim unlocking. As you can tell I am new at this! From the SPV-Developers Wiki I ran their helpful tool HTCUnlock application. On the screen of my 8125 it now shows Device unlocked. Then I read to unlock your sim you have to run Lokiwiz you get an unlock 8 digit code to unlock your sim. Yet when I run Lokiwiz02b I get a DOS screen giving me these options to choose from:
U. unlock
L. lock
C. CID unlock (SUPERCid unlock)
Q. Quit
So is my sim unlocked or not? I am really confused at this point. Taking any suggestions or help!!!
Thanks ucajun

copy the Rapiunlocker cab file to your device and run it manually before trying to unlock.

Thanks for posting back kyphur but I did what you suggest and I still get the same response as in my post August 17th. What else could it be? I think it has something to do with "The system cannot find the path specified."

uCajun,
On your PC where have you installed LokiWiz? Did you extract the files into their respective sub folders?
I would look at that as a possible cause to this error...

Ok, I'm going to do an inventory of the files that you should have from the archive. In the folder Lokiwiz03 you should have one file and one folder. The file is LokiwizMsl.bat and the folder should be named Utils. You may have two other files named dec_cid.bin and lock_backup.bin if you have run the program before. In the Utils folder there should be 12 files named: (in alphabetical order) cecopy.exe, Cert_SPCS.cab, cerun.exe, cerunner.dll, EnableRapi.bat, EnableRapi.cab, itsutils.dll, lokiwizMsl.exe, pdocread.exe, pput.exe, prun.exe, and wizardunlock.exe.
If all of those files and folders exist and you still have problems, try unxipping Lokiwiz03a to your root directory maybe his program can't read past a certain number of characters in the path-name. I remember that for 0.2b it was recommended that you unzip to the root directory of C (C:\) before running it. Well, I hope this helps you out some ^_^

unlock 8125 with newer ROM
ucajun,
I figured out the problem, thanks to another post for another device that worked on my 8125 running ROM 2.25.
Copy the Rapi zip file AND the Cert_SPCS zip file to your device. Run them both on your device, then run the Lokiwiz on the PC.
This worked the first try and produced an unlock code. After running the Lokiwiz, follow all other directions as posted.
I hope it works for you!

Sure Thank you, but I have got the problem to find out the rom file and figer out where in the memory is placed cprog.exe. The problem is, how to write the command to read cprog.exe from the image. I have tried it 100 times and always getting the same error, that the image file cannot be found. I would like to see cprog.exe to try found out how signal strength is cooperate with cprog.exe. It's just for this reason, so if you have an idea what functions are called to refresh the signal stretgth I would be greatful.
Thanks a lot.
Michal.
Oh. I see what's the problem. I can't find the dumprom tool, just the dump tool. Where can I find dumprom.exe file, please ?
Thank you.

Can we create the ultimate ROM???

We have the technology we can rebuilt it.
It occured to me that we should be able to build the ultimte "base" rom to use in the kitchen.
I would propose that it be based on the TMO 4.01.16 but make the installation of all the additional apps such as TMO toolbar, myemail, pdf and ppt viewers optional. I would also propose that sample windows media files and be removed.
Such a rom would give us the maximum space into which to add the appilications we chose but still allow us the flexibility to add some of the apps and settings that service providers supply. (much as the old Devlopers ROM did)
Just a thought
maudc
PS 3 cheers for Lumpistefan and Makis!!! :!: :!: :!:
That is a good idea. I think we can do it with mkrom.zip. We will need a linux op. but I think it will do the job under windows with cygwin.
I started to see the txt files, ini files etc, but I am at the beginning.
I want to make a good rom, like you. With no helps, no unneccesarry files, custom files (my ringtones for example) in the rom.
I only need time.
how
can you actually remove files from ROM ?
I couldn`t do it.
It will be great indeed.
Re: how
decebal said:

We want to build a ROM without some files. Not to remove files from a working ROM in the devices flash memory.
There is a file in the mkrom/cfg folder:
initobj.txt
It contains a filelist. I think there is a place to delete the files. But I have not tried. I have not time now.

Until now it´s not possible to remove Files from the rom....
What should be able is overwriting files from the ROm. But i think this doesn´t make much sense....

You're wrong.the initobj.txt file just conatins a list where to copy some files out of the rom. All Files are located in \Windows. The initobj.txt files contains the list, which file should be moved to wihich directory.
90% of this are the files in "Start Menu" and Help ....
So i see now chance to delete files out of the rom....

Are you absolutely sure that you copy this file as it is to your device ? and you have not made an attachment to cab. extentions on your desktop, so that it renames the file in transfer ? The only time you will need to click the file, is when it is in your mini, "my documents" folder, not before...!
If you are sure about the above, I mean sure..!!! Then maybe it's time for you to do something serious about your OS, 'cause then you have a problem..
...use cab installer and associate files with it!
...then try to disable the setting and see if system setting is restored
Its now fine, i was doing mistake ....Actually i was unzip the file first then i transfered the file, you mentioned AS IT IS helped me alot.
I really appriciate your help...and THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!!!!!
With this small tools, you can specify the folder you want the CAB to be installed to.
Just copy it to you PPC,and run it.You can associate this tools with CAB file so that next time you click a cab on your PPC,the cabinst will take over the rest work in your will.
Thanks alot mate, its really helpful !

Im trying to upgrade my jammin with the latest dopod rom ..Ive got hold of the romupdateutility.exe which bypasses the vendor id but now when i run the .exe it comes up with the error

Any ideas would be great.
Thanks in advance
Ive managed to get the awizard tool to work and does reset the jammin but when i go then to install the dopod rom update in bootloader mode it comes up with ivalid provider id error ...... :? :? :? :?
Download and install WinRAR

In this folder, you will find 2 folders. You need to copy the files from both folders into one folder only.

You should expect the process to pause at 80% and 95%. Fear not, it will run its couse to 100%.
The new ROM is a lot faster. Try starting and stopping Blutooth. You'll notice the change in speed.

[APP] ReCOOKstruct - "all pkg in one" cooked ROM reconstructor

Hi!
This tool tries reconstruct cooked ROMs, that have been cooked using the "all packages in one" feature. It does this using a scaffold ROM, that should be as identical to the cooked one as possible for maximum recookstruction.
How does it work?
In theory
It loads the filenames and registry entries from the mock-up ROM and from the dumped ROM (using rgucomp to get the registry informations), then it tries to set up the same file and registry structure that the scaffold ROM had, but with the files and registry entries from the dumped ROM.
In practice
Copy the "oem", "sys" and "packages" directory from a non-cooked ROM in a directory. This will be the scaffold. The more identical this is to the cooked ROM the better. You can of course use a kitchenized official ROM too.
Next extract the contents of the cooked ROM. (using imgfstodump or something similar). Put the contents of the ROM in a "dump" directory besides the "oem", "sys" and "packages" directory.
Delete the dsm file from the dump, you won't need it. If it has an rgu file, delete it too.
Next copy reCOOKstruct into this directory, and run it (you should do it in a console, so you can see what it is doing). After a while it should create an "_output" directory, with the "oem", "sys" and "packages" directories recookstructed. All files and registry entries it couldn't handle using the scaffold will be put in the "Unknown packages" package in the "packages" directory.
Recooking
If you want to cook the recookstructed dump, then move everything from the "packages" directory to the "OEM" directory (they won't have an option.xml so buildos won't recognize them is they are there). Add ".ROM" and ".VM" to the "sys" directory from the dump (because they weren't copied). Next load up buildos, and cook. Be careful though! You will need the same (extracted) XIP in your kitchen as the dumped ROM had! Copying and porting XIP's in not in the scope of this topic...
Legal
If you recookstruct a ROM and use information from it to create your ROM, then add credit to the original author even if he didn't release his rom in kitchen form

see attachments
EDIT: forgot to include rgucomp.exe, added
Awesome concept if it works. Ill give it a shot later when I get by a real computer thanks
hey sztupy great tool bro im gonna take a look at it (sector)!

I've tried with two of my favorite ROM's (that have no kitchens) and it worked fine. Just don't forget to use the XIP/os.nb/"etc stuff not related to the imgfs section" from the cooked rom.
ugotta try this. thanks

always re-inventing the wheel. Gonna use this methinks....
Thanks as always bro. Hope you keeping well!!
Ok so if I read this right what needs to happen is you have to find the DONOR rom which is most likely a stock or leaked rom and then the actual rom your want to depackage and follow the rest of the directions?
Can someone please verify this for me before I screw something up. Thanks
Would someone be willing to do a rom for me I think this is above my skills but I have a base rom I'm dieing to add too

Yes, you're right. You'll need a donor that will be used as a pattern for the recookstruction. You can use anything ranging from official ROM's to kitchens with extracted ROM's

Thank you sir for such a speedy reply. I've given it a shot but I dont know what the heck is going wrong I think its Vista even though I have full admin "hidden admin" user rights.
I'm going to have to fire up the xp machine see what happens there. But I would still love if someone could do it for me hehehe

Very much appreciated. I was in the process of developing the same exact thing. But you seem to have beat me to the punch. At least you made my job easier. lol
