Change Keyboard Shortcut - Anyone know how to? Thanks - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I realize that you can launch CommManager and File Explorer using Fn+"OK" and "->" respectivly. I had installed Resco File Explorer and want to use it as the default File Explorer instead. Anyone know of any tweak so I can launch Resco with my keyboard shortcuts?
Thanks

I was digging in the registry to find a way too. SO far I got nothin. Anyone find anything?
Later; Lew

perhaps you could overwrite the windows file explorer exe in the windows directory, with resco. I know it's not pretty, but it shoudl work! I've doen it before with voice command, to get it working through the headset bleutooth button.

This issue has been discussed many times. I've commented on a number of existing threads. There's also a partial solution out there. I have another solution too.

Just thought I'd say that using Fn+OK on my keyboard enables WiFi straight away instead of just going into the Comm Manager.

Regarding PHM Registry
Unzip this file on your desktop then copy it and then run it on your device and i think you will not have any problems running PHM Registry Editor
Regards, Zimo
Thanks Zimo
Found an alternate one that worked
Cheers m8
Re: Regarding PHM Registry
I am a beginner and also suffering with the same problem as Puff. After downloading the zip file the phm registry editor still seems to act as a sort of software remove/install program.
It is obvious something very simple yet at this time very annoying!!
Tascal Registry Editor works

Changing the busy icon

Hi all. Is there anyway to change the busy spinning animation (the circle w/ four colors)? I've had a look around to find the GIF for this but couldn't find it. Is it hardcoded? Thanks!

Looks cool
Well.. I have searched the whole Windows dir, and I couldn't find (gwes.exe.0409.mui)
I found gwes.exe however, but it could not be renamed
I even searchثي many .dll in windows to see if the gwes was changed in WM2003SE, but with no luck
I am doing it wrong?!!!
these things look really awesome.. and it can give your PPC a new look.. I want it so bad
EDIT: I gave the the program another try... and I had to hard reset my JAM...it was stuck on the booting screen!!!
even thought... after the hard reset I copied it all over again after hard reset... and it works now...!!! just copied the file (gwes.exe.0409.mui) to windows and then soft reset..
this is weired, but it worked out eventually.. so thanx alot vijay555
Thanks vijay555 but looks like those are for 2003. I'll have a look around but seems that I'll have to stick with the old circle animation :S
Yeah, I noticed it says Pocketpc 2002 and 2003!
I'll have a play later, but looks like it might not use the same hack.

Seems to work fine on my Wm2003Se.
Should also work on VGA if you mod the wait images.
Just download the gwes.exe.0409.mui file, modify the number 0409 to match your settings in registry at HKML > MUI (in hex, not decimal). 0409 is fine for me in English.
Copy the gwes.exe.0409.mui file to \windows\.
Reboot.
Not tried it on Wm5.
gwes.exe.0409.mui

You want to have the bluetooth shortcut on the today screen?
If you'r running O2 plus, under the "applications" tabs it can be done.
Click on O2 plus icon in today screen
Click on applications tab
Click on add button
Find bluetooth under the settings list
Done
If you'r not running O2 plus, sorry can't help ya

I think he wants to remove it entirely? I dunno, trying to figure out the posts in this place is pretty hard sometimes.
It would be pretty cool to remove that icon though, since phonealarm duplicates all the functionality I need from it.

That is easy. Do a backup (or registry backup only), whip up that friendly regeditor and locate the string "BTIcon" using a search function or walk there manually, it is in HKLM\Services\BTIcon. Remove the entire BTIcon branch and there you are.
This is coming from memory, hence the strong suggestion to do a BACKUP!

Getting the Rotate icon back

I wonder if there is anyway to get the rotate screen icon back in to the tray on the Hermes?
You can use Spb Pocket Plus.
With this program installed you can hold where OK button is and get the option Rotate left and Rotate right.
Thanks for that tip, but I don't like SPB Plus.
What I was really after was a reghack.
Anyone?
Coercri,
You're not the only one who wants this icon back.
I had a wizard but after a upgrade the icon rotation of the WLAN was gone.
So if there is anyone who knows how to get this back we would very grateful.
Cheers,
Drifter
phmkeys and traylauncher are your friends, vijay555 also has a software that can do that. The only reason I use phm software is cause I was using them since before, but vijay is a pretty active member on the forums so using his software has many advantages. And best of all they hardly use any resources, do a search around for either set.
No one with an answer for a registry tweak?
Cheers,
Drifter
I tried copying across ScreenRotate_Service.dll and ScreenRotate_Service.dll.0409.mui from the Windows folder of my WM5 Himalaya, and imported the registry settings for the service, but I can't get it to work. This is the service which creates the rotate icon in the tray, and isn't present on my Hermes, so I think I'm heading in the right direction. Maybe someone can find the solution?
I think it has to do with the service not loading at startup, but I'm not sure how to fix this with my limited knowledge...
I readed ther's an application at address
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=45953
but I'm not able to open this page!
Someone can post here the application please?

very nice, ty, any updates icons for that 10 button?
I am not exactly sure what you mean updates icons?
I have a thread over at PPCGeeks with (2) more of theses comms with different icons here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=16282
10-Comm 3D
10-Comm
I am always tinkering around and will likely be posting some more. I have .cabs for all (3) comms but I dont have the .cabs for these two above on my work comouter. There is a thread at PPCGeeks where everything is but of course the site is down...
Here is another I made last night.
10-Comm 3D Oval
Note: Regrdless of the comm manager you currently have (10-8-6 button, etc) this will give you the 10-button comm shown above. Fully functional with landscape...

Very very nice work.
Is there a way to change the fonts? I like the comm managers that are out there but my fonts suck.
