Duplicate contacts in Call history; How to delete/fix them? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I found it very annyoing; so please someone help:
First of all: in call history; it alway sets to all calls; that means showing missed/incoming/outgoing everything; Even if you put filter to missed calls only; next time you open history; it again reverts back to All calls filter; So QUES IS: how do you make HTC remember call history filter which you set up earlier (like show call history only)
2ND QUES:
even dumbest fone of Moto's shows this; when you call xyz from your ph.book, and called again, its shows 1 entry in call history (not every time you call it), but in HTC it shows 10 entry if you try to call 1 number and it's busy or not connecting; so how do i get rid of these duplications?
Help appericiated; ques sounds dumb but i'm rookie using PPC 1st time in life

same issues as above is there a fix? also is there a way to save text messages or lock them?

replace the caller ID notification screen

Hi,
I need to develope an application that basically replaces the caller ID screen that pops up when you have an incoming call and show some more information on the caller, then let the user answer or decline the call.
any help on where to look first (or maybe code snipets if i'm lucky) highly appreciated.
Cheers,
Shafa
I think you may have a hard time if it is truly a seperate application you wish to write. I have written a program to try to be used at the same time as cprog.exe and when that incoming call window comes up nothing I have tryed will let the user interact with any windows I create. You could stop that process but most users will not want to do this. I ended up having my program automatically determine if it wants to accept the incoming call and answer it itself. This was particularly anoying because my incoming call interest was set to data only and cprog dose not normally even register an incoming call that is purly data. But after I had initialized tapi with my settings cproc unexpectedly shared the same interest for incoming data calls.
Just as speculation - if your program was constantly running, when an incoming call is offering, you could enumerate the desktop windows using EnumWindows and its associated callback function to get the hwnd of the ballon that comes up. Then perhaps you could close the incoming call window or send it to the bottom of the z order and use your own to replace it. I do not know what effect this would have on cprog.
code related to tapi tends to be long so your not that lucky

Contact backup_Call history

thanks all for their help and wisdom
two teaks which i'm lookingsorry my search string didnt work for these questions)
how do you set filter in call history? it's set to all calls by default; can we change this default value (to miss calls or outgoing etc); also, why call history shows same number repeatedly (say you try to call 1 number 10 times, it shows you 10 times same number in history istead showing 1 time; it's pretty dumb as compare to other basic fone whr they only show 1 entry)
Other:
all contacts on phone; none on sim: how to take backup of only these contacts (pardon my ignorance; but i couldnt find way in outlook which is default for address book and contacts thru active sync); is there any 3rd party util especially designed to keep contacts saved in original format? (means 3 number/entry; 200 entry and that util keep exact copy and produce duplicate on restoring)?
thanks all to everyone

Good Call Register for Wizard..

Hi
Can anyone suggest good CALL History / Register application.
In the wizard in the calll history it lists all the incoming/outgoing/missed/all calls on one page , rather than proving TAB version for each.
does any one of any free apps..
regards
You can view the calls by incoming / outgoing / missed / user by using the menu > filter option in call history.
Not quite what you were after, but I am not sure if you had seen the filter option before.
Is there anyway to get the recent call list to display the telephone number and number of calls from tht number on the side rather than list every single time of call from tht particular number.
It's quite irritating... when i'm in a meeting there are times when i'll recieve like 10 missed calls from one single number and it's quite painful to browse thru soo many calls.
Hi
You are right , there is a filter option , buy I would rather prefer a tab option
without going into Menu->Filter , I have a Sony Eric Phone and I got addicted with that interface and quite like it.
So may be just asked the Q in the forum.

Reject Call With Text Message

Does anyone know how to get this to work?
It can be found in Start - Settings - Phone - Advanced Tab
Mine is ticked but doesn't seem to do anything when I choose Ignore to an incoming call (i.e. the caller is not sent a text message saying the above)
Any ideas
I have wondered about this for a long time, but haven't come up with anything to make it work, sorry.
I usually disable it sooner or later, just in case.

Click to collapse
I have unlimited text messages so charges isn't an issue for me.
All I can find is the option to send a text message when a call comes through, but nothing to automatically send a text message on an ignored call.
Hm, I think it's like this. Someone is calling you and if you wan't to ignore/reject the call, put your phone upside down on a table(with screen to the table), the call will be automatically ignored and I think THEN the message will be sent try it, not sure
I think, I have figured it out.
On an incoming call, you have the option to click on "Send text" in the lower left corner. The call is then rejected and you can compose an SMS to send to the caller.
I use an app called SMS Minder to do this myself, and I'm quite pleased with the results. You can have it respond to all missed calls/texts (select BLACKLIST & leave the field blank) or only to missed calls from certain numbers (select WHITELIST & add the numbers you want to respond to).
I've been using it for several months and it makes my work so much easier. I'm a cabdriver, and when a call comes in & doesn't get answered for whatever reason SMS Minder sends a message that says "I can't talk now, please text me".
For the longest time I didn't really trust Texting that much, but it's become an integral part of my work now. So much easier to read&reply to an SMS (10 to 15 seconds tops) than it is to dial voicemail, listen through the prompts & recital of the phonenumber, then listen to the message...and finally after all of THAT is done, then return the person's call. Texting is just that much easier.
Especially if I use a program like this to automate my responses...and a program on my desktop to send other text messages just like they were an email (it's got an interface similar to Outlook). I plug the phone into the computer & tuck it away...then any interaction I have with the phone is done by using Jeyo Mobile Companion (SMS interface with additional cool features) and/or MyMobiler (fully manipulable screen-shot of the phone's screen) on my desktop.
Of all the apps I've tried and/or discarded, these three have become almost indispensable to my work.
Use QSMS To Buddy:FullFeatured Free app from android market
Posted Android app on non Android forum by mistake. Sorry!
i believe, given the age of this thread, that it is about the native windows mobile feature to reject calls with an sms and there was no need to bump the thread with an app for another operating system. also, on android, depending on your phone and rom, this feature might also be pre-installed and available from stock, w/o the need for a 3rd party app.

HTC TOUCH HD Caller History (register tweak)

Hey you guys and ladys,
I have a nother thing with the call history on the htc touch hd. ive installed spb phone suite 4 (thinks it does the same as phonealarm) i like it verry much only nog it also chance the call history to a picture call history, nothing wrong with that, but it is ugly (my opinion) so my question, is there a way (or a tweak) to get the original touch hd call history list back? (i love that one) oja, and i still want to use the phone suite, anyone?
thanks in advantage.
Dee
go to phone suite options, uncheck "dialer extensions"
Not to start a new thread.... I'm going to post my question here...
Do you know how we can show "call duration" time in call history? Right now it's only showing the date (and time if it's today) of all calls, but not the duration.
The same thing I missed in the main phone dialer screen. In the old dialer (from original touch with manila 2d dialer) when you or the other party ends a call - it is showing for a few seconds the "last call duration". Here it just logs the last call without any timers.
The only way to find out call duration times is to open all calls for a specific contact, which is highly uncomfortable....
