I just bought a new qtek9100,and it has a french rom.
ROM version: 2.17.7.6 FRE
Rom Date: 2/21/06
Radio version: 02.07.10
protocal version: 413.1.03
ExtROM version: 2.17.7.108
Everytime i try to update the rom with ENGLISH ROM,i get ERROR(300)INVALID UPDATE TOOL .
Is it something i doing wrong?
I have already try this 3 ROMS:RUU_Prodigy_2170702_21707102_20710_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe
:T-Mobile_RUU_Wizard_2241010_224_22511_ENG_US.exe

you need to unlock CID FIRST....to be able to install any rom.

You use LokiWiz (on this forum) to unlock CID and THEN you can flash Roms of another brand (like Qtek, or T-Mobile).

i downloaded lokiwiz02b and i run likiwiz.bat, my qtek 9100 rebooted .
but still can run any order ROM.

u have to downgrade as in the link i posted above then run lokiwiz .02, read my son.....read

hi dmoney, I'm having the same problem that you are. Lokiwiz just doesn't seem to CID unlock new 9100's, I get the same error [300] message that you do. Hopefully somebody will crack it soon, otherwise we're stuck with the roms that we have.
There is a newer version of lokiwiz then 0.2b...you need to get the latest version.

Hi folks just found out about the forum and the advice and information is excellent. I was wondering if anyone can help. I recently purchased a 2nd hand XDA. It appears to be locked to the O2 network and was wanting to use your software to unlock. I downloaded the XDAUNLOCK.exe and executed this as per instructions. But keep getting the message ‘Error getting unlock code’ can you please tell me if you have any other programs that will perform this for me. My details are as follows:

You have 2 possibilites to unlock your xda....
1.) Use the XDA-Manipulator and a serial cable
2.) Upgrade your Rom to version 3.17 and use the xdaunlock.exe program

Also, you can try the XDAunlock.exe alone without upgrade. It worked for me but I had 3.18 at that time.

Thanks Stefen, sorry for sounding stupid but how do I upgrade my ROM to 3.17? Is there something I can download, buy etc ? I already tried the XDAunlock.exe as stated on my original mail but keep getting error message ?

I would like to know if someone unlocked its phone by himself.
All we read is people from everywhere except with AT&T.

Does the Rom Update 3.17 from xda-developers works with Rogers AT&T?
Can we expect our phone to live after that update?
Is the new ROM functionnalities user friendly? Would you rather keep the old ROM version both UNLOCKED?
If you got your SX56 unlocked, can you tell me what you did?
I'd like to have your comments on what you did before I do it.
After spending that kind of money, I wouldn't like to kill my phone.
So let me know how you did it and what did you need to update it.

I tried XDAunlock and it doesn't work...
Now I downloaded SER but I don't have access to Unix.
So if someone would be kind enough to send me a copy of image.

Why is the need for Unix ?
just try to cook a 3.17 based ROM and flash your XDA using the exe method. it will unlock your device with the first startup. in case it doesn't work you can cook it as .nbf file and use SD card flashing.

I tried the XDAunlock tool and it didnt work,
the boot screen shows pocket pc 2002,
So i Dont understand why im getting the "Error getting unlock code"
can anybody tell me if i need to downgrade first, or upgrade, or what!!

Get the Unlock Code and also Unlock the Phone
then Upgrade to Pocket PC 2003

Sometimes the XDAunlock tool didn't work for SX-56 especially with A20 ROM ... it's better to flash your ROM using SER v1.2 and it will unlock your xda with the first boot ... then you can upgrade later to WM2003
That did the trick....
A20 seems to be a newer version of 2002 and does not work well with XDA unlock...
for those of you looking to unlock your phones out there...USE THE XDA SER 1.2 (Special Edition Rom)...
It will Downgrade your Rom to version 3 (dont be affraid of the word downgrade, its painless) and once it restarts, it will ask you to unlock, and VOILA... you are ready to roll

You need an Serial Cable and the XDA Manipulator, or you need to upgrade your ROM to Version 3.17.03. With this ROM VErsion you can unlock your phone using the xdaunlock file....

Have you ever tried reading a bit in this forum?
Just downlaod and install it as exe file, you can use SD-Card-flashing.
Maybe it will be fine for you using the XDA Developers Special Edition ROM, or you cook your own ROM at http://www.romkitchen.de

Lockiwiz can only unlock your Prophet device if your Rom version is 1.XX.XXX. For the new AKU2 ones there is no solution yet.

Ok, had a modicome of sucess with this, converted it to a Imate Jamin and then used the wizard unlocker to sim unlock it. Its works fine for voice but have not got the gprs to work yet. Although i am using a dual sim and this may be the problem.

Has anyone tried the Imei check site (http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m600unlock.php) I know you have to pay for this, but that is still better than having your phone locked to orange (nothing against orange, just that I have an o2 contract...)

If this is the case, then can we use A-Wizard or the hacked romupdateutility to FLASH back to a pre-AKU2 ROM and then use Lokiwiz to unlock the device, and then flash back to a 'latest AKU2 ROM' (Dopod one is latest and greatest atm) and continue to have a SIM UNLOCKED device???

No lokiwiz can unlock the newer version, i have one and its done it fine, the problem is to achieve this i had to convert the unit from orange to either a dopod or an imate jamin.
Once flashed with the new rom lokiwiz quit happily unlocked the sim.
The only problem i have is i managed to disable the gprs connection detection. I think its something to do with the radio update and not quite getting the conversion right. I have been following the instructions from this and other sites and might have made a mistake.

thanks popeyesfx, but which ROM version did you flash to and how did you do it? Was it the new AKU2 Dopod rom specifically?
Did you have to use A-Wizard first to change CID or did you use the hacked romupdateutility to flash the rom from Orange to Dopod/I-mate?

I used the modified update util of the ftp site and then used the latest jamin rom from the ftp site, this updated fine and i didnt get any operator errors.
I then used lokiwiz and it unlocked the sim fine.
just as an aside, the problem with the gprs turned out to be a thing with the orange unit itself. I tried a non flashed on and it has the same problem (doesnt show the connection but will connect to it fine when triggered by other software)
there is another link on here that gives you a full discription on how to convert the unit just cant remember it (old age im afraid lol) :lol:

1. Copies Cert_SPCS.cab, EnableRapi.cab to spv
2. install in the spv; 1. Cert_SPCS.cab, 2. EnableRapi.cab in order. . .
3. running the LokiwizMsl.bat which give you the code which you enter with not accepted simcard. . . enjoy. . .
