Using as general modem via TAPI (or RIL if need be)

I am trying (unsuccessfully so far) to develop a program that will create a data (modem) connection to a modem connected to any other phone. I then want to transfer a small file using xmodem.
I have done extensive searches and tried solutions with TAPI calls based on samples I have found. I can dial the number of my laptop from the i-mate and the laptop on my desk rings. I tell it to pickup the line (ATA) and it does, but there is no "LINECALLSTATE_CONNECTED" from the "lineInitialize" callback function on the imate. All I get is a "LINECALLSTATE_DISCONNECTED" with the type as "LINEDISCONNECTMODE_UNREACHABLE". finally the it all hangs up, no connection.
I seem to be banging my head against a wall at the moment. There must be many of you out there who have done this or very similar.
I can post source is you want that type of thing, but I dont expect anyone to debug my app, but any pointers or others experiences are appreciated. I have come across the RIL interface, but I get the impression that TAPI is the "correct" way.

Have you got data enabled on your SIM. I was also banging my head against a wall until I thought I would check that with my service provider. There are 2 data things they can enable, one is fax but there is also data. Without data enabled you will never get a sucessfull modem connection.

Well sorry to say that was not the issue, I still only get repeated
"LINEDISCONNECTMODE_UNREACHABLE"
errors. I am starting to wonder if I am just getting really bad lines. Can someone who has made a modem connection from the PPC to a desktop modem please post their experience on how reliable it is and what type of connection speed it should connect at (9600? 1200? 300? any connection?).
Is their any working sample code for creating a data connection from the PPC using the TAPI?
I will be happy to publish the code to the small project I am doing so future developers have something to work from as I havent been able to find a working example so far. (when it works that is)

Figured out why it would not connect, for anyone else who has similar problems. Mine was the "CSC Line Type" option in the connection settings area.
It was set to "9600 v110" and "Non-transparent".
Im in australia, I understand the v.110 is the american standard, I changed it to
"9600 v.32" and "Non-transparent" and it connects fine. (dont you hate this type of bug)
Im still unsure what the "Transparent" and "Non-transparent" are todo with, if anyone could expain it would be appreciated.

I am glad you got it working. So I guess your code must be OK. I did not set any special communication mode so I guess that my XDA must of been set correctly anyway. It seems sensible that you are supplied with a setup for the country your device is meant for. I say this is bad of the provider.
How do you get to this setting ? I can't even seem to find it on my XDA. I have got a CSD setting that has a choice of 'Analogue' or 'ISDN' mode, mine is set to 'Analogue'.

The code actually worked almost first time when I had all the connection settings right. Ive got the XModem transfer working now also.
The "CSD Line Type" on my device (an i-mate) is an icon in the setting connection tab. In the same tab there is also
"Beam" - allows you to turn on recieve all incoming beams
"Bluetooth" - on/off/discoverable and bonding
"Connections" - normal connection setup
"GPRS Settings" - PAP/CHAP auth and class 8(4RIT)/class 10(3R2T)
not sure what the different GPRS settings are for either, but that side seems to work.

I'm trying to set up a CSD connection via RIL , AT commands and TAPI!!! You seem to have accomplished the TAPI solution which i have not started yet, could you advice me on the necessary TAPI functions to use in order to make this work ?

O2 Xda Stealth, Wifi card not detected.

Hi guys,
Inherited a Stealth few weeks back but i realised that the Wireless option (to turn it on and off) doesnt work, nothing happens when i try to turn on my wifi, so i did a hard reset, but after the hard reset, it doesnt even detect or show up my wireless options. Any ideas guys?

What ROM are you using ??? I had a similar problem with my stealth for over 6 months after upgrading ROM....I tried every thing including careful changes in registry ....the problem was only solved after downgrading to the original ROM more than once ....I still get minor problems when WIFI wouldnot load but works after repeated soft reset ....I suggest you try to soft reset few times an see if this solves the problem....best of lucks....

I am using WWE_RM061208. Everytime i restart the phone it says, "Unrecognized card in slot" i am assuming this is the wifi card? any ideas? which version rom should i be using? It asks me to enter the device driver/name or something. thanks.

The unknown card is the wifi card....I used to get this notification daily for over 6 months when the wifi was not working .....Try soft-reset few times and if the notification disappears then wifi should work.....Is your ROM Original or cooked???? have you upgraded the ROM at all??

Yes i have upgraded the ROM from www.mwg.com but it doesnt really do much, some of the settings still are around. Any suggestion which ROM should i use? What ROM are u using man? I tried soft reseting a few times but it doesnt work, it still comes up.

The ROM from mwg is original and I used it for downgrade from wm6 (YUC)..... is the wifi working when you hard reset the device ????....I used yuc wm6 but because of wifi problem there, I downgraded from mwg and then upgraded again to yuc wm6 from here

Hello All,
Since a fortnight, am observing strange problems within Network (clogs) and Virus Attacks on my Internet Cable based connection. This is a 256 Kbps line.
Problem I can see is:
a) A script or attacked is launched from a remote server/machine. It's domain address is 222360.com. Attacks happened from union.222360.com, s.222360.com and now with v.222360.com.
b) Once the scripts is launched (.js script), it gets hooked within my browser (Firefox 2.0.0.11).
c) Then, my internet activity will be disrupted severely for some time!! (can't open any page). I am using "Adblock Plus" within Firebox to block this script off.
d) Is there is no script, an attacked is launched on the open HTTP ports or on Yahoo Messenger.
e) Ultimately, an attack is made in form or Trojan or Exploit to gain access or to steal information from my system.
I can see the following logs from the NAV 2007 firewall.

I have similar problems with my stealth..
But worse...
My wireless manager only shows Bluetooth and Phone..
No more Wi-Fi thing..
It happen when i downgrade it to WM5,i got it from mwg..
When i'm using Yuc's WM6 sometimes the wifi works,sometimes it doesn't..
So i decided to downgrade it..
But now i can't use my wifi anymore..
I've been Downgrade and re-upgrade it like 4 times and that long processes did nothing for me..
Anyone have similar problems?

I had a similar problem with wifi for over one year . I had to down and upgrade my stealth 3 or 4 times and finally worked alone after repeat soft reset ...another problem is that you may see wifi icon but doesnot work on pressing it...try removing the battery for 6 to 12 hours and restart again...now at this time I did soft reset for my stealth and the wifi didnot load but iam sure it will work after few hours or tomorrow

Actually i would like to ask somebody's help about ZiIME.CAB.. i deleted phoneime.dll but still can't delete zisip_Opt.dll.. it said "Cannot delete file ZiSip_Opt:the file may be in read-only memory,on a write-protected disk,or currently in use by another applications"
is there another way to delete this file?
Secondly how to kill "cprog.exe" in Task Manager?
Another silly question is can somebody upgrade O2XdaStealth GPRS Cellular Data Link to 3G or 3.5G..or is there any Booster for Internet connection?

How does Bloover work?

I have a question regarding Bloover, if anybody can help it would be much appreciated!
Overview:
Am In trying to write an app that does some snarfing using the AT commands, similar to the way Bloover does. But I'm only interested in getting it working for the Nokia 6310i because its a school project. I'm not trying to hack the world of Bluetooth as I know its near impossible these days! And the reason I'm talking about Bloover as I used that as a base as I've seen it working from my SE K750i attacking my Nokia 6310i, so I decompiled the code to get an idea of how the AT Commands work (most of it is crap as its obfuscated, but you can get an idea of how the hack works)
My problems:
Currently my code will discover and connect to the phone and I am able to send AT commands to it via outputstream and or OBEX Put. Problem is, I'm consistently getting a return error code of 195 (OBEX_HTTP_FORBIDDEN).
So, what I need to know from more seasoned and experienced programmers and hackers out there (you guys! ) is:
1. Does the phone need to be paired before I can send the commands? Its saying its connected, but not paired?
2. Does it need a special AT Command to open it up to accept all commands, e.g. open a port or some kind of way in?
I think thats all I need, (so far!) if anybody can help me with these couple of questions if anybody has done anything similar or just knows how it all works it would be very much appreciated!

OK, Sorry about this, its a bit of a bump, but...
I have some more info, that I don't need to pair with the device, but still can't get it to accept any commands. Does anybody know if a buffer overflow is required for this hack for the phone to accept the commands?

I recently purchased a spy software package to track my childrens phone usage and I cant get it to work on my phone, It installs and I can start Bloover2 but it says faital error just before the splash screen shows up and then it shuts down.
I have the program and can send it to anyone that might want to help me with it. and it may have what you are looking for ''' other programs in the package'''

well I have to tell you that you must have bought a scam. all cell spy apps need to be installed on the victim phone, there is no real tool that can install on your own phone to spy on another phone. my advice would be claiming refund right now. for trusted cell spy apps check the review:

Internet Sharing....

OK I hsve looked all over these threads for the answer to Sprints Touch Internet threading issue. Ive tried deleting the registry that doesnt allow the drop down menu. I have installed cabs that modify the registry for me. This is a brand new phone with WM6.1 Could there be a fix to our previous way around this on the new phones? like an updated software that requres more that just that registry edit? Anyone else having this issue? Anyone been able to fix it?

Check the registry again for the proper name of your provider in the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings\ForceCellConnection=Sprint PCS
For weeks I suffered trying to correct my issue. Hard reset, following edits, making new connections etc. Then I noticed, my "ForceCellConnection=Sprint". Check your connection name. Once I discovered this and changed the name - all is perfect. I have used my Touch many, many times for tethering and it drove me crazy when it stopped working. Good luck!

I figured it out....... When deleting the registry, you need to soft reset afterward, THEN when your phone restarts, you run IE or HTC weather or something to open a connection, THEN you run Internet Sharing, select Sprint PCS and it will connect =) Finally a way around a brodband card, and whats sad, is that it ran at 1158kbps for download test, my home dsl only runs 1320 LOL!

0 upload speed

Hi all.
I have searched in this forum but could not find the issue I've encountered.
I hope somebody could help me with this since I have also googled and found no answers to it.
My phone is MiNote2, just bought it few days ago. Whenever I connect to Wifi the download speed is normal, no problem at all but the upload speed is 0 constantly. There is no problem for me to browse through websites or download, only when I upload the speed is 0. Even a simple connection to Airdroid will take 2-3 minutes just to make connection, let alone uploading to the device.
There is no problem with my other devices like my Old Mi NotePro, my PC and another old Android phone, all of them connected to my router and get normal download and upload speed.
And there is no problem with my mobile data as well. Everything works on mobile data.
I've checked my router settings and it seems all okay too.
I first encountered this since ROM v6.11.10, at first I thought is was the ROM's issue and waited for 2 weeks because Note2's update was suspended for 2 weeks. But when I tried on the latest ROM v6.12.1 the issue still persists.
I hope somebody could shed some light on this matter.
