Click to collapse
If you search in this forum for "hardreset.exe" you'll find a small program which makes the hardreset w/o key. I can't remember where it was.

Or download a shipped-rom from the ftp & extract all files from it. Enterbl.exe should be one of them. Put that one on your magician with Act.Sunc. Execute it from within File Explorer on the magician & your device goes into bootloader (you know dark screen reading serial v1.xx). Now soft-reset & your done.
Cheers, M
Handy Menu Software can do that...!
Tweaks2k2 can hard reset your device too
Thanks to vijay555, who showed me this tool wich also can do a hard reset.

HARD RESET AND/OR CLEANUP QUESTION

Hi everybody,
I have been trying out various softwares (install/uninstall) on Jasjar and was planning to do a hard reset to go back to original factory settings (like a format and complete reinstall WinXP on my desktop PC) and only install the selected few I liked and need.
Reading these threads for hours gave me the hint the hard reset is not going to do that for me. I am still a little confused; would somebody please describe what HR is on a Jasjar?
If not a HR is what I am looking for, how should I clean up all the tracks of junk (former programs that I deleted or tried to delete, but got an error message).
(Please, be easy on me and detailed, I am not a tech geek, have not even gone into registry yet…)
Thank you for your help!
IZ
A Hard Reset will do exactly what you want. As long as you haven't been playing silly buggers creating your own ext.rom.. -- given that you haven't touched the registry yet, I doubt you have..
Hold down all the required buttons, and press the Reset button at the back, wait 20 mins for it to rebuild itself, and you'll have a nice fresh Jasjar ready to go.
The only thing you may be confusing it with is a Soft Reset, and that's literally like turning your PC off. Nothing is gone, no information lost, it just reboots it.

Help with reset problem

Hoping you guys can help me out with a problem I've encountered with my cingular 8125 (wizard).
My wizard is brand new, about a week old. No modifications, i.e. box stock. I'm still playing around with it, trying to figure out how everything works. Just out of curiosity I performed a hard reset, to see how that works. And guess what, the thing is not booting up now.
It's stuck in the cingular startup screen with the radio and os/rom info on it. I've tried to perform another hard and soft reset, but it's not working. What do I need to do to resolve this issue? Help!
Thanks in advance!
Take battery out for 2 hours and leave device not plugged in - for good measure take out the minisd card. should boot up then or you will be able to do hard reset.
let us know how you get on
Okay, I'll give that a shot. I was totally like, wtf? Now what did I just do?
Nick
Okay, that didn't work....
Any other ideas out there? I don't see any other way to get this thing working again.
There are some other threads about this issue but with no simple fixes - search 'stuck on boot screen' or 'wont hard reset'
but i think you have a faulty device and quickest thing is to go and exchange it.
Okay, I figured out how to do it. Evidently I didn't press the hard keys in the correct sequence and/or coreect length of time....
Anyways, thanks for the suggestions and help. I'm back to playing with this cool toy some more.

Alltel ppc6800.....PLEASE HELP

I put a cab file on to make the 6800 to make it look like that diamond. I have decided to sell the phone and and want to take it back to the original everything. I have went in and deleted the cab file but it didnt take the look away. Can someone please help me so I can get it off of the phone. I dont know what to do. Thanks and hope someone can help.
YOu are looking for instructions on "Hard Reset" Im pretty sure.
You are gonna want to remove EVERYTHING that you have done to the phone, phone numbers and everything, well if you Hard Reset the phone, it willl make it like you just took it out of the box.
hold the 2 software keys down, while sticking the stylus in the reset hole, keep holding the soft keys until you get the message to (Grey screen) that states: Do you want to erase all user data and restor to MFG default?
This leave the current Operating system in tact, but it will be like you never used the phone.
Thanks for the help. It worked!!!!
