is the xscale processor always clocked at 520? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi, so I tried xcpuscalar at 624 and i get the crash everyone else get, if you try to scroll down using the scroolbar (say, in roxo explorer, windows folder), it freezed and a soft reset is needed.
HOWEVER, some people have suggested that using xcpuscalar at 520 still hold a performance boost, as somehow the xscale processor would throttle back the cpu to lower speed if it wasn't for that tool.
So my question is, is it true?

The HTC Universal uses the PXA 27x series of Xcales for its running. Yes, it auto-underclocks to save power. However, mine stays on 624 MHz for periods of one weeks, each of after which I give it a one day break at underclocking to 416 MHz. Kinda sluggish, but oh well

Overclock your Prophet

Use this tiny tool to overclock your Prophet!
Just copy and run the tool on your device, the maximum allowable (without crashing) clock for Prophet is at 276 MHz.
The device will stayed overclocked if you use it, it will be changed back to its original speed when you idled for a few minutes.
CPU Benchmark scores up to 1012 (compared to 600 in original)
Cheers!
OOpss... i just found out that this has been posted before...sorry, mods you can delete this if you want

Overclock over 240MHZ...

Hi guys!
I see that my Jamin is stable at 240MHZ... what is, in your opinion, the hi stable overclock for the Jamin... ?
O2 Neo
Hi, i run my O2 Neo at 240 stable. I'll probably try even 252. It's summer so I wouldn't push it higher than that. 252 could be stable, but depends on conditions. Just try it for few days.
Running at 240 MHz, it the battery life MUCH reduced than using factory 200 MHz speed?
My opinion - 'Sligtly' is more accurate then MUCH. But i didn't measure it.
252 MHz for 2 month on my XDA Neo with JAMin ROM, without any problem. Battery life is good, did not really see any difference before and after overlocking.
Well, I have been running my wizard at 264 MHz for 4 months straight and it has never failed on me. i have it on all the time after standby and soft resets. ive also tried 276MHz for a while but i had to soft reset it almost twice a day.
BTW, increasing the clock higher than usual does not heat up your device. the most it would do is soft reset it. temperature running at 264mhz is mostly the same as running at factory speed. (well for me it has) dont know about some of you.

Overclok on Dopod 818pro
Guys, my device is Dopod 818pro, and i was using OmapClock.exe to OvClock my processor, but, when the first time i run this program, the clock speed, says 264 Mhz? is it supposed to be the correct Processor Speed?
I got confused as i read anywhere else that the default factory speed is only at 180 Mhz.
But why is it my device gives me a 264 Mhz on Clock Speed?
also i've tried all the guides and tricks to keep my Clock Speed at certain number (eg. 216 Mhz). such as using a MemMaid and etc. but still, i always got the number 264 Mhz and it won't change at all... neither after soft-reset nor stand-by.
Anyone got the same problems?
I forgot to mention, when the first time i bought this 818pro, i felt that my device run very fast, even faster than my friends HP 6828 and ATOM PURE. Did i get lucky or sumthin'?
Everything on my device is still on factory setting...
i removed the OmapClock and Other Utility Software..
also..... there is one more sw.... 'Pocket Hack Master' from http://www.antontomov.com.... have a look whether it has compatiblity with URs.....
might be helpful.....
Mine has been stable at 240MHz for 2 months so about 6 weeks ago I bumped it to 252MHz and is stable since.
Nir
thanks!

Try installing the demo of sktools - its the only program I know that shows the true processor speed.
i did over clock to my device into 240, and it's works normally, but i don't know how to know that my overclocking was success or not, where can i read the speed of processor after overclocked?

how do i keep my device permanently on at a certain speed thgough omapclock?
also i would like the overlock to work at the set speed even after soft resets. Is this possible?

Yes you can 2 simple methods here
1. Using omapclockplus - see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=56057
2. Use batterystatus plugin - displays Mhz on today screen and has omap functions inc device wakeup overclocking see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=55782
You could also use smartskey or notification queue method but above methods use easy install cabs.

Just tried - I agree, there is no big difference in battery life - similar autonomy than factory settings when running at 240 MHz...
Hi,
I really don't recommand to overclock the prophet over 240mhz.
I overclocked my first prophet @252mhz.
I had no crash problem with this overclocking, but it burned the bluetooth chipset.
Now i have a new one and have a permanent overclock @216mhz, and sometimes i overclock it @240mhz, but usually it' only to do some tests!
The 216mhz is more than enough to do what i want.
Bye

Ive clocked my 9100.....now I need to test the speed

Guys,
I just clocked my 9100 to 264mhz and its running very stable and fast. Howver Id really like to have a small test program that can tell me exactly how many mhz its actually running at.
Who's got a small application that can tell me the speed in mhz ??
I use BatteryStatus.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=55782&highlight=batterystatus
You can also use a product like SKTools which is a great util for WM devices.
HTH!
Thanks dude......Im apparently running at 286mhz......even though Ive only clocked it to 264
Which application did you use to overclock your CPU? I've tried OmapClock (and went upto 220MHz), but it freezes frequently...
not all wizards can go much beyond 240, mine is fine at 240 but my friends only goes to 220MHz without crashing.
Luck of the draw i guess
guess i got lucky... constantly @276 and stable...

TCPMP showing a processor running at 100 Mhz

Hello,
I changed a little while ago my device from a Prophet to a Trinity (mainly because of the bad Prophet Processor overlocked at 140...)
But I'm feeling quite disapointed with the Trim as even basic action take as much time as before with the prophet... moreover, I tried some game from Resco which are lagging as hell.
I was expecting better.
Now I just looked into TCPMP oprtion and I'm seeing that the Proc clock is 100 mhz... sometime it reach 404 Mhz but it almost always 99 ~ 100 Mhz. What the hell ?
Is there some good program to monitor that behavior. Any idea of what could be the problem?
I already tweaked the device by removing animations and I also removed all heavy today plugins like SPB pocket plus...
Thanks !
try Xcpuscalar
works great u can eahter adjust the cpu speed yourself, or u can select auto scale with cpu load, and let the device decide when to provide a fast cpu (when doing a lot of things) or a slow (when just standing in standby, and save battery)
If i am not mistaken current version of Xcpuscalar does not support the Samsung CPU.

Ipaq 614c cpu speed

Have you ever wondered if your ipaq really works at 520mhz? Well it doesnt.
It uses a "battery saving" technology so the cpu can run at lower speeds when not used. But tha thing is that the top speed allowed is 416 mhz. That's it.
The cure is a program called xCPU scalar, many of you may know it. So if you want to play some demanding games or watch unconverted Divx movie you have to use it and if you are lucky you may get even 624mhz. I ran a benchmark from skTOOLS and first it gave me very poor results. When i clocked the CPU the test showed that at some points it;s even faster than omnia and almost as fast as dell axim. Speed comes with a price though - tha battery wont ;ast even a day. So it's recommendet either to let the cpu manage it's own speed or use the stepping of xCPU scalar. If you want to save your battery you may set top speed 312 mhz. I tried to play a mp4 movie converted for qvga at 100mhz and it plays quite well.

i lowered the speed to 104mhz. one day usage, still 76% power. usable for normal calling and messaging.
Yep. That's it. You can try playing a 320X240 Mpeg4 movie or playing Asphalt4HD - still quite acceptable framerate.
i bring it to that low i.e. 104 mhz, it freezes. The only reliable one is 312 mhz
I use 612c, on winmo 6.1
Always amazes me how much everybody else gets from their batteries with this device.
I routinely get through three batteries in 24 hours and sometimes four (i.e. one battery every 6-8 hours). Admittedly I am quite a heavy user of the device in general but this battery consumption is with minimal use of wi-fi or GPS.
When I get home every evening I have a handful of flat batteries and an array of chargers to plug them into, ready for the next morning.
I have not had a touch-screen phone that gave me a full day's usage, ever.
I really know what you mean!
I'm a light user, with processor UNDERclocked, screen turned to dark (level 1) and i still get 5-8 hours of use. The pocket pc becomes hot like lava when used for listening to music and doing other stuff. It's crazy. Getting a replacement soon.
912c is not compatible with xcpuscalar or PHM. it was good at the first run. but after soft resetting the device, it becoming not stable. so i have to uninstall or even hard reset the device.
i haven't find any good (or stable) solution to over/underclocking for iPAQ 912c. is someone can help me out. i really need the capability to change the clock speed.
How to change the clock speed of the iPAQ 6xx?
Thank You..

pocket hack master or xcpuscaler, however beware it may cause the device unstable
