opera 8.5 crashes when in stand by - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Opera is great but I simply can't stop using it
i mean that when i stop using my PDA for a while the program has frozen or has closed itself.
of course I have it installed on my SD
it seems not to be just a problem of mine..
anyone has managed this problem?

i know a lot of you is using this version of opera

When the Universal goes into standby the SD card becomes inaccessible, that's why Opera crashes.

i can figure it out this is the cause
does anyone has the same problem?
any solution?
how is possible that even if a beta the developers have not yet correct this issue?

Pocket Internet Explorer Auto Close

Has anybody experienced this? When I open a link from a email, it launches the PIE and downloads the webpage. Once it's finished downloading, the PIE just shut down. Only a softreset can recover this......
Anyone has the same problem and has this been solved?
Thanks a lot for reading.
Cheers,
I had the same prob. It seems to be a memory issue. Try to clean your memory with memmaid, when it happens, and it will work fine again!
i have this problem too.
i'll try memmaid now and see how it works.
EDIT: no i decided against using Memmaid. i don't think i like it. Any other solution to the problem?
delete your internet cache regularly, some sites are massive and can really suck your memory resources.
pocket hackmaster may also help not that i use it, but read about others that do.

Maybe this is the case:
"The problem is that you moved the IE cache to your storage card. Unfortunately people have discovered that doing that causes this problem. If you clear the cache in IE it will help for a little while, but the solution is to move the cache back to the device."

That's I think is absolutely RIGHT...I have not moved the cache to the SD card and no problem there after........

Phone app not opening

Hi all,
This problem is really getting to me now. For some unknown reason, after my O2 XDA Mini S has been on a while it becomes impossible to open the phone app. I am guessing this happens after i have something else running but am not able to work out what. The only 3rd party thing i have is TCPMP and i had this problem before installing that anyway.
I seem to remember other people moaning about this too and was wondering if anyone had similar experiences or had found a solution?
Thanks
Did you use task manager to close the phone app at anytime? If so then that will cause the issue until you soft reset.
You can also launch cprog.exe manually to reload the phone, or my program VJTogglePhone.

Opera crash bang boom

Hi
Anyone else noticed that Opera is VERY instable. Usually when a download takes too long and I try to abort and load another url it kills the phone totally and only thing left is to remove the battery. Ironically this usually happens when I demo the phone for a friend.. hey check this out oops phone died..
Which build of Opera do you use? Enter opera:about in your location bar in order to find it out. I am running the 2392 build and it works just fine.

I have build 2682
Can I update with downloads from the official opera-site? I read somewhere here that the phone uses a slightly modified version with the zoom-slider.
I took the version published somewhere in the forum here. I think the problem with using other version(s) is the g-sensor. You will need Gyrator2 in order to rotate your screen.
How do you upgrade the version of Opera that is included with the default HTC rom?

Windows Live Messenger Freezing Phone

Everytime I'm on the messenger the application or the phone itself stops responding. I think there may be an issue while trying to update the status of people, but I have no idea. Does anyone knows someway to fix the problem?

If you are using a custom rom, please post in that rom thread about the issue. Otherwise i am moving you're question over to General as this isn't rom dev.

XXJVO (XEU) still has horrible browser zoom!

Hi there
I have this morning downloaded and installed the XEU JVO firmware via Kies and am frustrated that the browser pinch-to-zoom is still horrible!
When I pinch-to-zoom, the centering jumps all over the place. I had tried resetting the browser to default and manually deleting cache/data in manage applications. Still, the stupid thing doesn't work properly.
Has anybody else had this? Does anyone know how to fix it?
Oh, Samsung, how you tease us so.
Cheers
James

Yep! That is exactly what I have resorted to for now... I do like Opera but I find it slightly annoying that when the program is cleared from memory, it forgets the pages you had open (or it certainly used to do this)...
Edit: Opera does save the open tabs after being cleared from active memory. I must be thinking of Firefox - apologies!...
Im on jvh... How come i dont have this issue?
