Force Program History? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Is there any way to force the history of the last used programs in the start menu? A Reg tweak or something? Or a way to delete the entries? That would be very nice.

I've put this into a new version of VJEschaton.. but check out
HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Shell > TaskSwitch
V

thanks for the tip.
I tried to delete all the entries in the reg key, but WM simply writes it back, even if i don't make a soft reset!
EDIT: I got it. Delete TaskSwitch, wait a few seconds and soft reset. you must wait long enough that windows can write changes into rom but if you wait too long windows writes the changes back

How to make a cab file to modify the registry ?

I'm trying to make a cab file that deletes the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TaskSwitch] key or that imports a blank key in the registry but my MDA won't have any of it
I'm using WinCE Cab Manager. Any pointers ?
Mine works, but you have to soft reset to see the effect.
doesn't work on mine If I run my cab it clears the list in the registry but upon soft reset the list is back ! It's like it uses some backup copy, I don't know....
yours leaves the reg settings intact even after soft reset
succes ! I replaced "" with a space in the keys value and that did it. Also needs a soft reset. In case anybody wonders: it clears the recent programs list.
strange, I tested mine on my 2.06.00 and it worked fine,
after soft reset : gray Recent Programs in menu.
must be a difference between 2.06 and 2.20

Yes I did.
A real pain in the b..
It will not upgrade existing version nor overwrite it.
Uninstall existing Pocket Plus by first, Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Today -> Items -> disable Pocket Plus
In Start -> Settings -> System -> SPB Pocket Plus turn all options OFF
Then in Start -> Settings -> System -> Remove Programs - Remove Pocket Plus and good luck. If it doen't work, don't let it delete itself from "Remove Programs" list - say no to that option.
I then used Start -> Programs -> File Explorer to remove \My Device\Program Files\PocketPlus directory
(Warning see note in next Paragraph)
Then removed \My Device\Windows\sbp* files - 6 of them.
On Soft Reset it complained about not finding spbservices so I loaded up SKTools and did a registry clean of dead Keys.. Maybe I should not have deleted those \windows\spb* files...
I then Soft Reset and I was able to do a clean install of SPB Pocket Plus 3.0.1.
See my sig for more details.
This is how I did it:
Start the installation procedure up to the moment when asked where to install
Keep "Device" checked and SOFT RESET
On restart, PocketPlus will install

Remove recent program

Hi,
Anyone can help, how to remove the recent program in start menu? Because too many program show up here.
Thanks.
Chopel
The list is stored in the registry... you delete the keys and then soft reset.
I think VJEschaton will do this with the option -clearstart
(you still have to softreset)

So, U mean I have to clear it all the time? any way to disable it?
Thanks.

Contact & Calener Soft Key Won't Display

Hi,
I installed the program DciNobar to "play around" with tweaking my K-Jam. I wanted to bring them back so I tried to uninstall the program from Add/Remove programs and it gave an error and asked me if I wanted to remove it from the list which I selected yes to.
I have since installed SoftKeyAppletEX which has given me the option to reset everything to default or remap the keys manually which I have done yet they still do not show on my screen.
I'm thinking that the DciNobar is still starting up, but don't know where to find the key in the regsitry to remove it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Ari
Not to worry found the solution. Removed dcinobar from the windows startup directory

GWES test

This is an another GWES.
Installation:
1.Install certificate SDKSamplePrivDeveloper.cer
2.Copy GWES2.EXE to \windows\
3.Run registry editor and go to HKLM\init
4.Find parameter with gwes.exe string and change it to gwes2.exe.
5. flush registry
6. do soft reset
inform me what you see and what kind of bugs you have.
NOTE: a lot of programs isn't working, other working incorrectly.
Mouse
if you want to control mouse, run my mouse.exe.
It will show message box without text.
Minimize it. Use direction pad keys to move mouse around screen.
Use action key to left mouse click.
If you want to disable mouse, close message box.
Uninstallation
you can run registry editor and change value in HKLM\init back back to GWES.EXE.
If no, do a hard reset.
Be sure that you have backup - probably, you will need to do a hard reset.
Please test it!
Can you please explain for which devices and OS, is it for?
Thanks
yeah.
you must have point in making gwes,uh, something...
it is so close thing to core, that it may be useless for 99% users.
i am curious, why are you doing this?
Install something (what IS it anyway?) that's likely to need a hard reset? Not gonna happen!

hi THEVK,
please give more infos to users, otherwise i don't think you'll find someone who installs it (with the hardreset risk)
I've tried it on my Atom , but it stucks at the bootscreen
This for WM 5.0 and WM 6.0.
No WM 2003 SE.

hey, do you read topic title?
it's say exactly "test".
This is based on Microsoft original stuffs, I do it for one project.

Yes I read it. You still haven't said what it is, just that it's "based on Microsoft original stuffs" and that you might need to hard reset your device. If you want people to test your junk for you, you're going to have to provide a LOT more information than that.
i do "hard-reset" every now and then...
i did it again because of this testing gwes...
this is what i had after installing it (see the screenshot below), and i didn't get any "mouse" with the "mouse.exe"...
but the worst of all is that i still have no idea about what it is for....
