Magician as a bluetooth headset for pc skype??? - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi,
can i use my magician as a bluetooth headset for skype, voipbuster and so on?
I'm using latest bluesoleil stack on my ppc and widcomm stack on pc. On the PC i enabled the bluetooth gateway service but when i search for available services from bluesoleil's bluetooth manager, it cannot discover this one.
Did some of you succeeded in this? Should i use a different bluetooth stack? (i know that there are three different stacks for magician: MS one, bluesoleil and another one i don't remember the name).
Thanks for help,
I will call you @home to thank you if you find a solution (but you'll have to excuse my POOR english)!!!
Bye,
Isidoro

If you just want to use skype, try it this way. Use active sync via blue-tooth or if you have gprs it would be even better. There is a PPC version of skype available. Download and use it.
Visit www.cartystudios.com for more ppc stuffs

Thanks but my problem is: i need to use voipbuster since it allows me to call home numbers (like skypeout) but FREE. Voipbuster can be used with any SIP compatible softphone and sjphone is one of them.
Unluckily, sjphone won't work with an activesync passthrough connection (that is: a bluetooth serial port conn to ActiveSync with the latter acting as a proxy to the Internet) since ActiveSync doesn't allow UDP connections.
Then i tried installing bluesoleil stack and creating a PAN connection with my pc (in windows server 2003 i bridged bluetooth and LAN NIC together). Now i can use sjphone but, don't know why, call quality is ORRIBLE!!! Maybe bandwidth is not enough.
Weird thing: when i browse the Web through AS (via bluetooth serial connection) i have a 220-260Kbps throughput, with PAN i can only reach 120Kbps!!! Maybe Bluesoleil stack is not so good or maybe PAN connections have a way greater overhead!!!
Anyway, i've just bought a new MDA Vario (Qtek 9100) WiFi enabled PPC so i hope i'll be able to use sjphone in a decent way.
Thanks for your help,
Bye,
Isidoro Russo

Sharing GPRS connection on XDA2 with IPAQ using BluetoothGPS

Hi,
I'm trying to share my GPRS connection with my friend who has the IPAQ 1940. I'd like to use the Bluetooth connection.
I am using the BluetoothGPS.zip bluetooth stack which is basically the IPAQ one.
Can I just initate a SSA connection on the IPAQ and it'll automatically dial on mine?
To share Xda II intenet access to group of ppc or PC, I use pocketpcproxy (I named it ).
But that program are not perfected yet. If you are interesting, please check at http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=72
or http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/default.asp
Thanks, that's what i'm looking for...
BUT I noticed that the Widcomm bluetooth hacked drivers cause a lot of problems with the Pocket PC... Once you install that, your regular bluetooth gets messed up.
Also, you cannot use the Widcomm for SSA.
I'll email him anyway, thanks

Bluetooth Network Access, Please, Please, please Help....!!!

Hi there,
I have an Qtek 2020 and I've installed WM2005.
ROM version 1.60a.00WWE
Radio Version: 1.14.00
Protocol version: 1337.24
I want to use newtwork access service but I cant.
when I want to setup this service in My Bluetooth places. it sais no Device found. and when I find manually it sais that your device has not network access profile.
I tried to install WIDCOMM BTW-CE but it didnt installed. it sais that no bluetooth radio found!!
I really need network access. Please help me!!!!!
if you can sync with activesync using bluetooth then you can connect
not sure if 2005 BT stack support the bluetooth PAN profile
and not sure if there are any widcomm out for 2005 yet
I had this problem also before I install WM2005 with the same error.
I thaught maybe I should upgrade my radio versio !!!!
the radiostack is only related to GSM not bluetooth
these are guides as to how you activesync with bluetooth
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?ContentId=3163
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=2417
Most of the time.. its more acurate when you connect from PC to PPC not PPC to PC.
I think my English is very bad
I can connect to ActiveSync without any problems.
My problem is to use Network Access service.
I have no problem with other services sych as Audio Gateway, Headset, Ativesync, Serial port and...
when you are connected with activesync then you have network access!
if you minimize activesync while it's connected then you can just open IE or messenger or what ever
that is unless you disabled it in activesycn on the pc or the firewall on the pc block it
or if you have set it to use your isp network insted of your my network in connections on the pocketpc
No... you didn't understand me.
I want have an IP address for my pocket PC as you connect with WiFi.
And explore the shared folder of the network PCs with Resco File Explorer.
Wee this picture.
When I connect with USB my pocket PC get and IP address and I can ping it.
I want to do this also when I connect via bluetooth.[/img]
oh dident know that activesync using bluetooth did not assign an ip to the xda2
well then there are 2 options i guess
1 find a widcomm or another bluetooth stack that works on 2005 which support the PAN profile (pan is network over bluetooth as in not using activesync)
2 downgrade to 2003SE or 2003 and get the widcomm stack which works for it and support PAN
I've installed the WIDCOMM. but the previouse BLutoth stack did't remove. and now I have too icons of bluetooth!!!
but widcomm did't work properly and it sais that: "The Bluetooth radio failed to turn ON due ro insuffivent driver menory available. [!!!] you must perform a normal reset before you can turn ON the Bluetooth Radio.

Try to use PocketLanCe: www.pocketlance.com
I have the same problem... htc p4350, wm5 aku3/3.5 the wm device doesn't see the Network Access bluetooth service which the PC is running. (pocket pc doesn't seem to support Bluetooth PAN correctly). This is crap. In the year 2007, simple things like bluetooth pan shouldn't go unimplemented in an operating system built by the richest software company in the world. on a device i paid $500 for. i could implement this stuff myself in less than a week if the code weren't closed source. gosh i hate hate HATE our world.
also the pocketlance website is password protected..

Wlan via bluetooth

Is it possible to make a wlan via a bluetooth dongle?
The type of my dongle is ES-388.
Does anybody has experience with this type= I only can use bluesolei and I just want to use the standar MS drivers but MS doesn´t see the dongle???
Generally Yes - although not technically WLAN.
And more specifically i havent tried it on my Wizard, but did have it working on my Ipaq.
What you need:
PC with network/internet conex
BT dongle
Decent BT stack for PC - i found a lovelly guid with a "version" of a Widcom (i think) stack and a lovelly guide, trouble is the files were removed off the site shortly after i read it for "breach of copyright".
Bridge BT network (PAN) and network (LAN) to make it work.
Fraid i cant share the files as i dont have any install files. but sure Google can help
The Bluetooth Stack on the HTC Wizard does not support Personal Area Network profile (PAN), so unless you manage to hack a different stack into the wizard, no, bluetooth networking will not work.
i think.

no PAN :-o wtf is the BT stack there for? i cant see many things it CAN do really :'(
i was about to continue to bash the qtek for not having PAN, when a thought came to my mind...
IF YOU HAVE CONNECTED THE QTEK WITH CABLE AND SYNCED WITH ACTIVESYNC THE QTEK HAS NETWORK.
IF YOU CONNECT THE QTEK TO ACTIVESYNC WITH BLUETOOTH, IT HAS NETWORK, TOO!!!
I AM A D U M B A S S!!!!!

I know it's true. But I can't install my bluetooth dongle (ES-388) with the original xp drivers. So I only can use Bluesoleil and this does not work with activesync.
Bluesoleil does work with activesync - at least the version I have does with the BT dongle I have.

This one is rather old Toshiba's proprietary BT stack. nothing good. I have used it with my TOSHIBA E800 + TOSHIBA SD BT card combo 2 years ago. And had many problems with it. Anyway.
here is some info for you:
Profiles supported by your Toshiba Pocket PC
Headset Profile
Serial Port Profile
Dial-up Networking Profile
Object Push Profile File
Transfer Profile
LAN Access Profile
Personal Area Networking Profile
General Access Profile
Bluetooth specification
V1.2 Not compatible with Bluetooth V1.0B
devices.
as you can see - this one is not even BT 2.0 compliant.
do you mean that it's a useless software
what about blueSoleil, bluetooth adds..... and other softwares
comparing to that which one is better, :?: :?:
and i've sayed that it worked well on my i-mate jam. i don't know what about other devices.
Hi,
i'm testing the bluesoleil stack (bluesoleil_r2.arm with switch from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=36395)
since 2 weeks on my magician (qtek s100 rom 1.12 FR , radio 1.13) and i'm very happy with it;
PAN network works fine for accessing my LAN (files, internet, activesync),
and file transfer with other mobiles works better (i didn't test others BT services like dun, fax...)
Just have to switch to ms stack for GPS use with my BT338 and TT6(very laggy with bluesoleil stack)
Regards.

Browsing a intranet web using Bluetooth

Hi.
IN my company we have many BT antennas covering 100% and they are connected to the enterprise intranet
I am looking for a way to surf a entreprise intranet web with a PDA using bluetooth but I ve several problems:
1) MS stack cannot connect as PAN client role.
2) Even if the server connects the PDA (so PDA has server role) when I open INternet Explorer and write "http://192.168.0.6..." I CAN ping or telnet the web server but IEXplorer CANT do it because It doesnt consider this connection as valid and try to stablish a GPRS connection. Even if I remove the gprs connection then IExplorer cannot connect the intranet web. Any idea about how to do it?
Thanks
Dani
what an impracticable network.
On devices with Widcomm BT Stack I can do it because It implements PAN Client but MS Stack doesnt....
Install Widcomm BT Stack. Then you can connect PAN. Make a backup of the PPC before installation, 'cos that you cannot uninstall it. It also produce some 'Out of memory' problem in certain PPCs.

Thanks shiranmotha.
I used WidComm BT Stack in the past with my IPAQ and QTEK 9090 and was nice. I cant understand why Microsoft doesnt make an effort and publishes a decent stack. Unfortunatelly we can hack/install other stacks in the user's devices..
