It's hardware included the WiFi, when I flash the ROM to Chinese( CHS 1.7.13.102 ), I can not use the WiFi. I've looked for dozens of patchs, but none can work. I think maybe it was suppressed by the ROM. I watched the article(include pictures) which was described the Dopod P100 (CHS Version), and It's WiFi worked fine. So I think if anyone could find the principles of how WiFi worked in the ROM, then drump the Dopod P100's WiFi patch and use it in MDA Vario (Dopod 838, CHS 1.7.13.102), the problem maybe sulved. ^_^

The very first patch is from P100--and wouldn't work...So just go on working with WWE and CE-star.

The wizard is sold as dopod 838 which is Chinese simplified ROM in china. But The Chinese_Simplified(CHS) ROM does not has a wifi module, because the chinese dopod838 phone does not has a internal wifi hardware. That is, The CHS Rom of dopod838 is different to the other wizard which is sold as dopod838 in Taiwan with Chinese traditional ROM or Qtek9100 sold in other regions.etc..
So ..the issue is: I have been flash the CHS ROM(the OS without wifi) onto a Qtek9100(has a internal wifi hardware)....cause the CHS ROM(Chinese simplified.. Windows Mobile operation system) on the Qtek9100 does not has a wifi function...i can not make use of the wifi ..but in fact the Qtek9100 has a wifi hardware...
is there someone can make a software or driver of wifi module that can be installed to the Qtek9100 with no wifi CHS ROM....

Hi it seems that Qtek and i-mate are a bit faster in coming out with ROMs. I was wondering if I could update my dopod 838 [WIZA100] with a Qtek 9100 or k-JAM [WIZA200] ROM, if I recall correctly the difference between the 2 models are the dopod has WiFi 802.11b and the Qtek 9100 and k-JAM have 802.11g. Aside from this is the physical appearance. Has anyone with a dopod 838 updated his/her device with a ROM from Qtek or i-mate?

Actually I did try all ROMs and found out the the best (fast&stable) ROM is T-Mobile.

I was able to flash it to T-Mobile but I lost the Mono BT streaming so I decided to revert back to the dopod ROM. Also I noticed that CVC on both ROMs are a bit different. On my dopod it says: "say a command" with the T-Mobile version it just chimes. I'll play around with my dopod ROM for a bit longer then maybe I will play with the other ROMs as well.

I am new to this forum which i just joined today. Currently i am trying to figure out my newly bought SPV M600 from u.k but i m located in Malaysia. Any errors or failure on my SPV M600 will be a nightmare for me because i cannt get back to U.K and fix the SPV M600.
After i surf through the whole prophet section, i didnt able to get a proper guidelines on updating the ROM in SPV M600 to Dopod 818 pro ROM. First of all is it possible that i update the Dopod 818 Pro latest ROM? Is it compatible?
If yes please teach me the right ways to perform it. I really scare that my SPV M600 will be gone.
Any specific intruction on the update? To make it perfect?
Don't worry about your SPV m600 ther's no need to get it back to UK..You just have to search around in this forum..go to Prophet Section, surely you'll find tolls nedded and instruction
what is the SPL / IPL of your phone?
I have an M600 myself and on an Orange ROM and wonderig if the Dopod ROM is better and the pros and cons of upgrading from orange to dopod.
Also pls be sure that once you have flashed to a non orange rom u cant go back to the orange rom as it aint available nowhere.

when i try yo go through the wiki.xda-developers.com and under the phophet section there is no information. all the links seems contain no information. wondering where to start from.

Be aware that if you upgrade to Dopod, there's no turning back for now with this rom, meaning you won't be able to downgrade until a solution is found.
I have installed myself that dopod rom instead of the orange FR one, and I think it have better speed, but appart of that, don't really see the difference appart from some stuff missing in the dopod (like pvplayer for live tv and the rotate screen) and some useless stuff in dopod like auto config for Asian phone providers.
In my case I've update to dopod because it was the better rom atm and I wanted to get rid of that AZERTY french keyboard config which is far from handy on a phone and have a QWERTY.
Now it's up to you to know if you wanna risk it :wink:

You will need that novendon check exe to install that dopod rom.

cellchamp: currently i am waiting the response from dopod malaysia about the support on SPV M600. because i asked them whether they support it when it is broken or any failure on it. waiting for thier response. Currently my phone just purely for calling only and i cant GPRS and MMS.

For anyone reading this forum, it is clear what are the steps to do that. Can some one tell me if the WiFi functionality is still implemented in the new ROM (DOPOD or HTC ...)

i am running the dopod rom on my hero. seems all wifi stuff is there, but naturally not running on hero due to missing hardware.

DOPOD ROM includes all WLAN functionality.

The rom of my choice for your request
The rom I found best is UDK's syrius r0.
It is fast (very fast), very nice interface, works perfect with exchange
boots up quickly and runs iGo 08 almost perfectly.
I use it with PDAC hebrew wich I find better than eyron
due to less memory usage and better general preformance.

You need to setup the GPRS and MMS - call orange and they will help you, no matter what ROM you are using.
I have some problems in UDK R0 rom, it freeze once in a while.

The told me that they cant help me, i had gprs working but their wap site didnot recognized the ppc as 3g phone... =(

I didn't tell them that I have a cooking rom, I asked the to give me the setup and it all works fine.
the new official 6.1 rom will support "Orange Israel 3G/2G" but there are many cooked ones which already do. like PhamQuang, Syrius R0 and o2.
