ok i'm slightly confused???? Do u wanna download this rom from o2? I have downloaded this rom from this site no problem. My mini s messed up and i had to re install original rom. No updates as yet for the mini s. This is the original rom that was shiped with the uk mini s.

I had the same problem and it said my IMEI no. was invalid.
Can't you see, he's in Greece and the O2 site asks for a O2 Phone Number which he obviously won't have.

It's the OS that ships with the device originally, V1.5.4.102.

Check my post here. My guess is your previous upgrade set your operator in the device to a non-O2 value.

First of all you would get a error code 101, a country error code.
If you get past that. All your gprs/mms settings wil be set for O2, your startup screen and today screen will change to O2.
your OS will be 1.72 and your radio will be 1.17. and you'll get those apps that o2 has put in this update.
I would recommend to take another 1.72 / 1.17 update with your existing extended ROM or an extended rom from Orange. Extract the extended rom from this O2 update and use whatever CAB you want to make your own extended rom.
For manipulating extended rom do a search here, also check for ER2003EDIT.
My backup of xdaII mini english rom is accidentally deleted after fresh to dopod 818 CHS rom. I can't download the rom from O2 website because they say my rom is up-to-date. Can anyone do me a favour and help me ?

I have a Taiwan Dopod 818 and would like to flash it to English ROM because most of contact are in English and Traditional Chinese contact are too hard to look up... any suggestions ?
There is a lot of discussion about backup of your rom at this forum. You can use search to obtain the result. :lol:

Really ? The chinese version of xdaII mini was launched only few days in HK. I believe the rom in my friend's mini is updated one so I disappointed.
If you are right, do you get one ? any fix to voice quality ? where can I obtain the updated version to test ?

Oh, I discover that what you mean is the version of ext rom, yes you are right, the version of ext rom is 1.03.174CHT

May I know how I can get the english ROM too? I don't know how to access the FTP site.
I want to flash my device as I believe my poor battery performance could be due to a bad ROM...

O2 have withdrawn the 170 rom as it had issues!!! (like the others don't!!) That is why it is not there any more. :lol:

It was withdrawn because it was crap. Blackberry didn't work.

I downloaded it one month and a half ago and i don't see the difference between v.1.11.169 and v 1.11.170 except Backberry v.2.0. If yours is good,I think you enjoy it.That's the best way.

The radio in rom for Alpine v1.11.170 is v1.04. Check it again,pls.

Another question - on next page O2 asks for IMEI and phone number. Somehow I can find IMEI on my device but how can I obtain valid UK O2 tel. No??? It was bought on ebay... So is there any links where i can download this latest ROM ver. without tel number? Thanks.

I had no trouble to download the O2 ROM from that address before, even tried now and no problem, is your phone an original O2 branded phone? (box, O2 logo at faceplate) if not you won't succeed.
Anyway, you can find many ROMs here, as O2 Xda Orbit 2 == Polaris.
My phone is orginal like here http://www.my-xda.com/devices/xda_orbit2.jsp, but I can`t download rom, wrong serial number.

The previous Vodafone UK rom 1.72.161 was very fast and very stable!!!

I know i'm a flash addict, but one thing still confuses me.. If i extract the .nbh and flash using CustomRUU will it overwrite HSPL?
with my call log to o2 cs i am shocked they have not called me yet to say this is up lol maybe my one man crusade finaly made o2 get this out of the door !!

This Rom DOES have O2 branding, it has the O2 boot screen. I have just flashed my device successfully
This rom is for O2 users who cannot update with a generic ROM, unless you used HSPL to flash it.

Would it be ok to install on my HD2? Its a UK verision so to speak, ie. My Serial Number won't let me download it.
of course be carefully; you need to make a Hdspl2, and then you can flash to any rom. These rom are uploaded by xda in the official rom's post
