How do read Chinese on my MDA - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I just got my T-mobile MDA on 21.02.2006 at Chicago, but it is English version of WM5, when I use the wifi to go Chinese website, I can not read it and I transfer the Doc file to my MDA, when I open the Chinese contexts Doc file on my MDA..all I can see is like" #&%@%(&!%&"
Is anyway I can read the Doc file or go Chinese website and read the Chinese contexts?

Or there is a program you can buy called "CE Star" which has many input methods, including handwriting recognization.

I am now using MONSTER Chinese

Try searching on the Trends mobile website for a chinese reading software which is free. Note that it does not include a chinese input method (It does but requires an internet connection). The address is www.trendsmobile.com

Chinese/English

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can help me with this question?
If I were to buy a Chinese Jade (Chinese windows etc.) I would obviously be able to receive txt messages in Chinese, but if I flash the ROM to English, would I still be able to receive Chinese txts? If not, if I then installed Chinese language support for the windows mobile as in "Monster Chinese" etc. would it then be possible to receive these txts?
If that would work then I assume the following would be the same (Is this correct?)...If I bought one from England which would obviously already be in English and installed the Chinese language support would it then be possible to receive and send Chinese txt messages?
I guess my confusion is between the "PPC part" and the "phone part", I had an IPAQ before and I know I can install Chinese language support, but I am just not sure if that would allow the "phone part" to use it
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am in England for another week or so and not sure if I should buy one before I go back to Taiwan.

Since it is one system, yes, just install the chinese support software. I prefer the fast, convenient and FREE ZTA4 Text input. http://www.a4user.com/A4_down_sip.asp
Works very well on Jade. But you still need the chinese font file for actually displaying the hanzi. Use sunglobe: http://www.trendsmobile.com/downloads/sunglobe.cab.zip
Greetings from Berlin and Beijing
Thanks
Thanks S200 for the quick answer.
Great help
I will check those links now
why the first answer is a no ?
i found some tutorials on a Chinese site, it says you need to install font to display chinese characters, and an input method to type chinese, even if you are using an english rom, and isn't this correct?

and you can also use ce-star to get chinese support, but current version is reported to be unstable and could lead to crash constantly.
yeah thats what I meant, just install the font I mentioned in my post, then of course the answer is yes. but without modifying the english ROM, it is unable to DISPLAY (but of course receive) chinese chars..
I had installed the "CE Star" for handwrite and display the Chinese Charater. I found it still cannot display on the TouchFLO. Can any expert help? Many thanks!
my jade comes with ce-star 2.8 r3. i think this is the latest version works perfectly with jade and wm6 phone.
buy an English Jade and installed PlumSIP and Monster Chinese, works better than CE Star

Footprinter on Jade.

It's possible add footprint function at our JAde?
Thanks.
Yes that's possible, i have it installed and it works, read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3346963#post3346963
BTW...you could have used the excellent search button of this forum and would have found your answer in a minute.
I have installed the file tomtom compatible but not work.
It's perhaps my rom is in italian language?
Thaks
Yep tatoone, rename the 2 footprintfiles (windows directory) with language code in the language code of your device:
FootCam.exe.0409(original, english) --> FootCam.exe.0413(example for dutch)
HTCFootprint.exe.0409 --> HTCFootprint.exe.0413 (also dutch)
I dunno the Italian code, but i'm sure its around here somewhere
which cab did you download and install, Nirak? I have installed KDKobes Footprints TomTom Supported.cab and it indeed works, but the app seems to be upscaled for VGA instead of Jade resolution QVGA. When I get the window after taking a photo, I only see half the dialogs and cannot read what is being asked
Furthermore, my phone seems to be sluggish after install of this cab.
Edit: I found and tried this QVGA version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340932 which works on my Jade! But you should change the region as Nirak mentions, though, before it will work on your phone. The menu options are in English, even after changing the language code..
Also: this cab is only 4MB instead of KDKobes 16MB. ONe thing to remember is, that this cab doesn't ask where to install (Phone or SD) but installs on the phone. It also by default uses Google maps for positioning. Haven't found out how KDKobes' version uses TomTom, but I prefer using TOmTom instead of Google maps. Can't find how to change that.. but I'm playing with it..
BTW: The Footprints icon can be found in Programs > Multimedia > Footprints (I thought it wasn't in the Programs section, but found it!)

sas_sas....this is where you can find the files you need to rename, just put your own language code instead of the default english one.
Ths a lot Nirak,
Renaming the two files to our own language code...
It seems it is easy, but is not it silly?
I am Turkish, living in Azerbaijan now, visiting several countries business purposes from time to time..
What language code I need, Where to find the all those code nos?
Is there a way to remain in English code which I am much more customised ?/
Sas_sas you only need to rename those two files once to the language which is installed on your device, i guess (am not very technical) just to enable the application to work with your country specific ROM.
If you have a WWE (WorldWideEnglish) ROM on your device you shouldn't have to change it at all, it should work.
If you have a Turkish ROM your language code is: 041f
The papago version is also for vga too.
Pity...

Ths Nirak.
It is clear now. It should fit to the Rom language. Need renaming as per to the Rom language..

Enable Chinese and Japanese Regioanl Settings & Fonts to PDA/PPC

Enable your wwe Chinese and Japanese
a year ago I just have my PDA Phone and I had to go study abroad to China, I had looked every where for a packet that could make my PDA able to read and write Chinese. I found a solution package from "PDA Mobiz" solved me out of this. Now I learned some thing new and I learned about Registry I found a font that make the Characters more Clear and more beautiful from the Official Chinese Dopod ROM. So I made my own package! and it works! (although the font file is a bit big - I still like it (^^) )
So, I want to share with any other who need it!
Download:
Simplified Chinese
For Chinese Keyboard I am using...
Handwriting:HWPen Olympic Version (Freeware)
Pinyin Keyboard:ZTA4 (Freeware)
All Regions
Vivi - All_Region
Is this Chinese Font included in your ROM WM6.1 M2D?
actually there's another one IME called MeiHua
It's much better that A4 !
Using it you can input number, english or chinese easily
and you can also diy your own word library with tools
supplied by the offical website.

I have not run into any Korean language related developers on this xda forums yet.
I was able to install and run Korean language with help from some of Korean HD2 users group forum,
but that was when I had Touch Pro 2 phone.
Now, I bought HD2 last week and have been trying to Koreanized(한글화) my HD2 with no success.
NO, I take it back. I was 75% successful on HD2 compares to Touch Pro 2.
I was using HD2 method on The Touch Pro 2 and got 99% working.
Only a few menu items are not in Korean and input method was excellent in both Korean and English.
I've posted results of Touch Pro 2 on this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=644091
Now, with my new HD2, most of bottom menus are unreadable (small squares) and input methods locks up in Korean and can't type English.
I've posted problems and only recomendations so far is to soft reset up to 3 times. I have soft reset many times. Still NO GO.
PHP:
This is one of Korean HD2 forum.http://www.mymits.net/zboard/zboard....page=2&no=5757
Perhaps, You'll have a better luck. (Good Luck )
Please post with any results you'll get. It would be greatly useful to everyone whom seeks for Koreanized (is this a word? )
How to install Korean language on HD2
Hi All,
I was gonna edit prior post, then it may get messy so here is another post.
I've tried installing Korean language on my HD2 for couple of days and finally made it happen. WooHoo
I was having troubles because I tried staying with roms I liked. Then I finally gave up and installed "Lost in Asia" rom.
The Lost in Asia rom is already multi-language (Eng. and Chinese). Therefore (I believe) it had necessary files to accept Korean installation.
After the installation of rom Lost in Asia, I've installed 1 to 6 of MyMits Korean installation steps then I've installed Moa key cab and WALA. All main menus are changed to Korean.
Let me see if I can help you guys out...I'm Korean myself and had been trying to install Korean language support on my hd2 t-mo US for awhile now. Now...I'm not sure exactly what you wanted...the ability to read Korean font and text in Korean font? Or...like the previous poster, are you trying to change the entire UI (menu's, etc) on your hd2 to complete Korean?
If that's the case you will probably have to install the lost in asia rom...I'm almost positive with other rom versions or stock US rom's it's just not possible, but don't quote me on that.
If you want the ability to read Korean font and message (type in Korean) go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=646728
Follow those steps...download and install the Korean font .cab => than install the moakey .cab
Than go into start menu -> settings -> personal -> input settings and change it to moakey. You can change the settings on moakey to your tastes as well.
Don't forget you can hold down the keyboard icon when typing to open up the message options screen and you can switch back and forth between the different message input methods on the fly.
I'm personally using the newest version of Energyrom April 1st, hspl2, T-Mo US w/ no issues.
One other thing to note, you can definitely read Korean fonts now...but when you put mp3's etc into media player or core player (whatever you use) alot of the Korean titles won't display properly...it's not because the K-language support isn't working, it's just that those programs need separate K-language support.
Hope this helps =_) 좋은 하루~!!
thnks all!!!!

[Q] Looking for ROM "I8000HZHIL2"

I want to flash my i8000H.
Anyway knows where I can find the Rom "I8000HZHIL2"...
Please help...
Or any other stable ROM (in English but also support Traditional Chinese) is recommended...!
Please help...!
most stable ROMS are i8000NXXJI1 (6.5.3) and i8000NXXJJ1 (6.5)
you can download them from here
http://filecrop.com/search.php?w=i8..._r=1&engine_m=1&engine_h=1&mod=dec&order=size
and here
http://dfiles.eu/folders/J102PNBEO
if you can find a suitable (6.5.3 or 6.5 acconding to the version you will choose) csc file in chinese language you can have your latest rom and also menus, keybord etc in chinese. You are interested in traditional because you are from TAIWAN, right ?
have you tried to upgrade using the latest version of KIES ? it still supports i8000 phone.
Another info is that a simple search on google.com typing "I8000HZHIL2" gave me many results with your ROM
one of them is here http://dl.vmall.com/c0l2jdab0j
try yourself also on google or baidu and you will get what you are searching for.
Million thanks for spkraul...!
I can download the ROM at http://dl.vmall.com/c0l2jdab0j but it is password protected. I cannot find the password to open it...
KIES is not more supported for GT-I8000
At last, I am checking for the ROM of "i8000NXXJI1" and try to find corresponding files of PDA and CSC which can support this ROM and traditional Chinese...
If I have any result, I will update my experience in here...
any result?
just dont install the original ones
they suck
