windows media player - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

been using the player for some time now listening to music on the way to work. just today when playing from the start of my playlist there were little pause all the way through each song, so bad that i had to turn it of.
does anyone know whats causing this, could it be a virus or something as am always tranfering songs to and from, or will the card need re formating if needs be.

Too many apps running at once?
Have you tried doing a soft reset?
I didn't think anyone used Media player anymore, try:
http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download
Much better player, loadsa codecs for all types of movies too.

WHy dont you use TCPMP? It's way better than WMP... If it still has the same problem with TCPMP then something might be wrong with the unit itself..

Good mp3 player without static?

im currently using pocket player, but on some of the songs i play, i always hear these audio glitches and hits.
but when i play my sons in WMP, i don't hear it.
i hate using WMP cuz i can't save a playlist, and it keeps reading from the phone instead of the memory card. i'll have to reload all my songs everytime i load WMP.
thanks
that last stuff is something that I think was mentioned fixed in AKU2.2 - not sure though.
As for an alternative player.. TCPMP and MortPlayer come to mind
ok i tried out mortplayer cuz it's free, but when i was listening to it on the train, it keeps pausing on me, i don't know y, i wasn't even pressing any buttons.
any other good mp3 players?
does anyone know how to fix this?
mort player keeps pausing when i use it underground.
why is that? the music is on my storage card, and im not streaming any music, thanks
Mp3 player
Well for the playlist issue you can use a freeware app known as' PlayList Editor' it stores your playlist in any format you assign it too,and the WMP player can directly read ie from the sd card,as for the players you could try the GS player or TCPMP both of them are very good. I hope this helps.

HTC album music player

Hello can anyone can tell my how to avoid annoying crashing of that music player (i get error that audio_mannager.exe crash)and why when it don't crash after couple soft reset i listen mp3 every 20-30 min i have 2-3 sec silence... its any way to fix that things because i very like that player and i dont wanna use that windows media player but if this things cant be changed i probably stop use that player from htc...
You can try to hard reset your divice. You can contact HTC, others could have had the same problem, so they might have the way to fix this.
Try disabling MS error reporting.

It's because of Album Art. Make sure all your files are mp3 and if you have album art, make sure it's not bigger than 256x256 pixels and it is embedded in the mp3 files. If you follow these steps you'll be alright!

Music player says "no"

Hey felas
To start with, I'm a fresh virgin in WM and just bought the Leo, flashed the ROM with 1.48.405.2 WWE and it's all a dream except ..
I go to the music player tab, play a song and in 5 to 20 seconds the song just stops playing. It doesnt pause it, just halts and when i hit the "play" button twice it plays from the start. Unusable..
I am using an 8GB SD, tried formatting it twice ( through win7 and WM ), tried uploading the songs via Media Player and by just copying them into the folder. Its all the same. Soft reseted the thing a gazzilion times and it still doesnt like me.
I searched trough the forum but didnt stumble upon anyone with a similar issue.
I give up. help?
Thanks in advance
That's frustrating. What's the format of your music files? And what's the bitrate? How do you have organized your music files. In seperate folders or in one large folder?
Just curious.
BTW, does this problem occurs constantly. I mean, if you leave your phone alone for a couple of hours and try to play the same music file then, does the same problem occur again, or is it just after an update of your music library.
appelflap this problem has been noticed by others. You might want to check out this thread which documents several solutions.
Slow Music player
try to erase the Music maps inthe sd card and create a new one,put music inthis first, more less like 200 tracks and start again the player,if this work put more music
Thank you for the assistance guys The problem were the mp3's I guess.. or the dumb HTC developer that coded the Media Player. Anyhow, I reckon i might like this forum after all.
Happy holidays
The solution ?
Hi. I experienced the same problem with my music player. I noticed that EVERYTIME I connect my LEO with a computer, whether or not I add new music files, the music player would just "stuck", find no music files, display the message "No music found" when I turn it to landscape.
Found the answer on another forum. Actually, "our" music player is unable to read some MP3 ID3 TAG... It seems to be only reliable with ID3 version 2.4 UTF-8 type tags. So what you should do is "simply" convert all mp3 files on your storage card to the appropriate ID3 format. It's not very long since you don't have to recompress the audio files! You can use mp3Tag to apply change to all your mp3s at once. More info in this threat => http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=42474
One definitive solution would be to convert ID3 tags of all your music collection! It would take quite some time... unless somebody find the way to fix this with a magic cab?
This just adds to the very long list of issues of this "wonderful" piece of technology. Thanks who?

HD2 Music player questions, suggestions needed.

Okay, so now that I'm committed to the HD2, I'm also committing to fix or remedy the issues I have with the device. I've gotten it to run smoothly, except for the Sense music player.
First, is it normal for it to scan for music every time it's powered on, or unplugged from USB? You would think it would save an "image" of your library to run off while it scans the SD card for new files, but no. Instead, it scans for several minutes, in which time it won't display any artists or albums and lags horribly. Am I missing a setting, or have my library sorted incorrectly? Right now it's setup as root/music/artist/album/mp3, fwiw.
Also, the gap between tracks is terribly annoying. It totally kills mix cd's that are cut into tracks, and ruins the flow of a lot of albums. Is there a way to get rid of this, like the "skip silence" function in iTunes? I knowIf not, is there an app that scans and removes silence from the beginning/end of my mp3's as a batch process? For example, point the app to my music folder, and let it scan/trim silence from each mp3 automatically?
Other than these problems, I really like the music player... but these things are serious dealbreakers for me. If there's no way around them, is there a music player you can suggest that does these things?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I really don't think these things are a lot to ask from a music player, and I'm hoping there's a way to make it happen.
+1 i too has this same issue
Yes, this happens. People have suggested a music player called nitrogen, but I haven't really messed with it to know how good it is or not.
Yes the HTC Sense music player can be one of the problems with this phone, especially for larger music collections, and/or ones stored on the card....mostly due to the less-than-efficient way it indexes the music. The two cabs I have attached should help you with that somewhat. The first one adds indexing to the startup group, so it should be pre-indexed by the time you decide to open the music tab. The second one turns on caching on the card, which should also help speed up the indexing and access times on the music tab.
As for the gaps between tracks, I've never seen a solution for that other than manually trimming the files...but even that won't totally remove the gap. I listen to a lot of full-length mix CD's too and the way I get around this issue is to just rip the CD as one full-length mp3, instead of as individual tracks. EAC (Exact Audio Copy) is the free utility I use for that

Hey, thanks for the help!
I have several mixes ripped as a single track, but it's hardly convenient. I just hope HTC is aware of this, and working on a solution for an upcoming ROM release. I definitely won't be holding my breath, though.
I've tried a bunch of different music players and the only one I have found that doesn't have the silences in between the songs is Pocket Player. Its a paid music player but if you have a large music library or listen to music a lot its by far the best solution out there.

I actually tried that out last night, v4.1, and I found it really clunky, with poor sound quality compared to the stock music player. Maybe I don't have the latest version, but I really didn't like it much.
Is there any other music players that have an interface similar to stock? Even if it doesn't have gapless playback, it's more likely that a dev would update the app more frequently than HTC.

Music Playback Issue

Hi All,
Anyone else having issues with MP3 playback using the defaul music player (and also using the Cubed player? About half of my mp3's on the device stop playing after about 1/2 a second. I initally moved my music library via simply drag and drop into the device storage from my Win7 PC. I then deleted the entire library and tried syncing via WMP. Made no difference. Files play back fine using PowerAmp. I'm really digging the new android Music player though, and would love to get it working properly. Any ideas on what's causing this?
Thanks,
Tony
