Just got my Wizard from 02, Recieved it yesterday so still playing round with it and finding new uses for it,
Its got a lot packed into it however a little chunky compared to my old Samsung D500.
Just brought some screen protectors today from ebay a pack of 6 for £1.99 + £1.99 postage from germany.

How long did it take O2 to get the phone to you ? Strange as on the website it said free next working day delivery and yet when I went through all the payment and it confirmed my order it said delivered within 3 working days ???

Took a couple of days to be delivered to me. In fact, they quoted up to 5 working days so i was pleasently surprised

Just checked on the website and it is now with the carrier.

Qtek S200 in UK

I just found the Qtek S200 at Phones 2U direct for £64 with O2 200 contract. This seems far cheaper than anywhere else for the prophet. I've ordered it and will let you know how it goes.

You gotta watch them on that. I bought my Jam from them and they did the same trick of "in stock" which was not true. Tricky characters. Phone ended up arriving a week later, not next day as they claimed.
Good catch guys - many thanks. I challenged them on the in stock nonsense. I reminded them that they were asked the same question last week by someone here so, if it was a ;genuine mistake', how come they didn't vhange the web site.
Anyway .... I spoke (at last) to someone who seems to know what they're doing. The JAMin is due in today so I switched the order ot that. You can bet I'll be riding them close over the next few days Thanks again for the warnings.

i rang them to query my order for the jamin today, they told me they got the stock in today and will be sending it out today.
ordered mine yesterday, still no email informing me of dispatch...

OK the good news is the JAMin arrived today. The bad news - it's way slower than my XDA II and I can't figure out how to voice dial using the BT headset (the main reason I bought it). Hopefully it'll get better

cracks in display, can it be repaired in UK?

dropped my phone from barely 2feets , the outerlayer and the digitizer seems to work fine but it had 2-3 curved cracks along the display, and from the sides of those two , display started to become dark , pixel by pixel they just turned dark.
my question is : i live in London UK , i was wondering if i should send it for repairs to USA?Taiwan? or Slough? i have sent a couple of emails to google and HTC , it was over weekend so no response from them yet. mt second question: if anybody might guess how much repair fee are we lookin at?

My understanding is that HTC have a repair centre in Milton Keynes (based on posts I've seen on other forums)..

thnx , i have already contacted them , but since it's sunday i guess i have to wait another day to hear from them. i assume after 4 months of its release , HTC europe must have repair parts in stock , since it was officially launched for UK as well.
anyway i am going to update this thread by what happened. in the meantime , anyone has any other suggestions for repair? ebay still has nothing on it

it doesn't matter! when your screen break, HTC is extremely reluctant to repair it for free, and it makes sense , if you , like me , let it slip on concrete , there is nowhere in manual that said it is suitable to be thrown, and they have every right to charge you for repair. so don't worry and unlock it

by the way , i have been contacted by HTC UK first thing in the morning , asking me to call them and the estimate on repair is 64 pounds.yay. i however think the price would go up.anyway , you should call HTC hotline for UK to arrange for pickup.
I broke mine yesterday, it was a sad day indeed. But HTC agreed to repair it and whether they charge or not doesn't bother me. It's still at least 1/5 of the cost of a new one.
ordered pick up by UPS yesterday , they picked it up today , but not in time slot they were suppose to : before 1pm was mentioned by HTC , and i had the guy around 5pm at my door. anhyhoo , the HTC hotline is really really busy and they almost never reply to your emails.so you have to call , wait for half an hour to speak to someone, but they are very polite and cooperative, although at times they might not have a clue( they sent me back and forth when i called to ask why device hasn't picked up to UPS)

today i received an invoice by HTC via email , asking to to pay for charges. it is said that since it was determined that your device was broken because of you and not the device, i have to pay for it ( duh! ) , and guess what , the part (AMOLED) costs like 40 pounds , another 30 pounds for plastic something ( i assume it's the gluing back the digitizer to display or something) and like 15 quid for worksmanship and the total of 122 uk pounds!
damn it , it is still a fraction of a new device, so i paid it immediately , in hope of having my device over weekend. though i don't think it will be back to me.
by the way , they charged 8 pounds for delivery as well. it is not that bad, considering it is handled by UPS
now the repair tracking website of HTC says the device is ready for delivery , i should be getting it tomorrow, i hope. 122 pounds for a sorry mistake.

[Q] HD2 been in for repair over one month!

My touch screen died on my HD2, it was one of the older versions bought in Jan last year. I sent it off to HTC in April and they've had it over a month now. They say the parts are in Taiwan but have no idea when they'll ship. I simply can't beleive such a big company can happily take my phone off me for over a month and still not be able to tell me when they'll repair it. And to top it off, they sent my proof of purchase, which had my name/address etc on it, to a totally different customer; the numpty repair shop had clearly shoved my paperwork in to some elses repaired HTC phone.
Anyone else have the same issues with them at the moment? Anyone managed to get a replacement handset out of them yet???
This is a high bureaucracy if you want something repaired under warranty...

At least they've offered a free accesory up to 50 quid as a way of saying sorry so that's not too bad. Still, this whole debacle makes me think my next phone won't be a Sensation but a Galaxy S2. I hope Samsung do better repairs!

Got the same call today - repaired phone will be back with me next week & I chose the Bluetooth Headset for £50 as a freebie from HTC (as an apology for the delay in returning the phone to me).
The experience has not made me want to jump from the HTC brand (been with them since the old days of the SPV) - therefore I will still be grabbing a Sensation when my contract expires in the next few months.
Mine got picked up 6 weeks ago today and I got the same email yesterday. It was a Desire that I sent off.

My HD2 finally arrived back today with a nice new working touch screen (just as HTC said it would).
Although the HTC website says that it is awaiting pick-up by the courier service
Now I have to find another screen protector & try my best to apply it minus dust bubbles & turned up corners.
Well, well.... Got my phone back today after 6 weeks and 5 days unrepaired, exactly with the same fault as when I sent it and with my battery missing to top it off.
HTC have now told me that I will be receiving a brand new Desire S for compensation, its supposed to arrive today or tomorrow.
Anyone else been offered a brand new phone for compensation?
Lets say that my experience in the Benelux area is not much better.
The first time my HD2 got into repair, 1.5 months ago. 3 appointments to pick it up and not showing up with the most lame excuses.
Device was fixed after that in 1 week time which is good to me but the delivery back was another thing .... again.
The guy on the phone also asked me why I was angry after 3 missed appointments. Well if I do that in my current role I will not make it untill the end of the week.
Now after a month my phone has a MB problem and I already feared the support thing when it started happening. Needless to say I was right again!
Called in on Monday morning and was asked when it should be picked up. Two choices Tuesday 9am-1pm or 1pm-6pm, so I choose 9am-1pm.
They picked it up at 4:20pm. Not so funny when you think that I have to arrange my working day (and customers) for it.
To top it off. This morning I get an email that the device they received is not a desire hd as mentioned in the case but a hd2. sighhh

And I won't go into detail on what happened to my Touch Pro a year ago which went into service a couple of times and wasn't fixed at all.
... and we have a winner ... again.
Got a message last Friday that my HD2 was ready.
Now this morning I asked Dynafix (the company that 'fixes' it in the Benelux)where it was and what was done to fix the issue.
'installed the latest rom' I was speechless.
I already told the HTC guy what was done before it was picked up and ofcourse installing the latest rom is one of them.
About 20 minutes later by coincidence I get customer care on the line asking me if I was satisfied with the repaired phone. (That I still don't have btw)
I mention what I just heard from the repaircenter and that the device will not work like it should.
It will have to come in 1 more time and then they can do a swap if it gets approved.
The device has not been working like it should since March the 27th.
I asked if it could get swapped for another model and I got a straight 'no'.
HTC is seriously getting on my nerves. Spending over 2000 Euros on phones over the past 3 years and not doing something in return for customers is not a good thing.
I was tempted to ask for a Sensation and pay a part of it myself but now I am more than tempted to get the Samsung S2.
Edit: The thing arrived 15 minutes ago ..... pop in battery and 5 minutes later ... stuck

This really .... me of. They concider the last repair not a repair but a software upgrade so they will not exchange it.
Strange since I sent it in for a repair and already mentioned that I did a rom upgrade etc.

Yeah call them up when you get a chance and they will refund you £30 - I haven't done this personally as I didn't buy from JL but people on this forum got refunds when JL dropped price from £450 to £400 and @bu11d0g is saying he has got price match refund from the initial £480 price.
Thank you. I received the tablet under complex circumstances anyway. I actually didn't know I'd receive it since I got a cancellation email and was waiting for the refund from paypal (still waiting) to buy one again. I was initially going to wait, but then I got an email saying my tablet was being dispatched and effectively got charged for this tablet and right now my bank account looks like I've bought the tablet twice. I figured since it was too late to cancel and it would be arriving anyway I decided to keep it. I kind of regret it now lol but I do hope I'll be able to price match with them. White is all sold out online, but call your local store and you might be lucky. They will put it aside for you. My local JL had 3 white only left.
Okay I was told to do a price match form so hopefully they'll get back to me. If not I guess I'll call them up again.

Thanks for this info, otherwise I wouldnt have bothered walking into the store where they had loads in stock so bought a white one ... however the assistant first brought out a box with one seal broken (can't say for sure if she knew or not but I will give benefit of the doubt) but when I told her about it she seemed a tad shocked and got me another straightaway. Don't get why samsung don't just have that plastic film like on ipads or other devices as it would be plainly visable if it had been opened/tampered with. Oh well i have mine now so all is well :good:.

Wasn't sure where to put this but since it says 'John Lewis' on the tin I might as well. I got this tab from John lewis so if I were to return it or if it broke within the 2 year warranty with the Knox counter tripped, would they check it or would they just repair/replace it no questions asked. So I called up my local John Lewis to check the store stock, they tell me they have the Note 10.1 2014 in stock so she says its reserved for you now so come into store and pick it up within 3 days. Me being all excited I head out for JL straight away. I get there, find an assistant...she pops into the back and walks out with a brown wooded box so I get even more excited - on closer inspection its a Tab 3 10.1, I tell her its the wrong one, she apologieses and pops back into the stock room and returns empty handed once again apologising that there is no Note 10.1 left. So that was a wasted journey and go home sad and empty handed.
So try 2...I call up on wednesday and once again I'm told they have stock and its on hold - I repeat many times "Note 2014" and even mension I've already had a wasted trip and she goes " I have personally placed it on the shelf myself", I was catching a domestic flight home and as soon as I land I make the way to the shop and the exact same thing happens, obviously I was a tad annoyed by this stage, I didnt really mind the first time as mistakes happen but twice!
The assistant understood my annoyance and in the end he said whenevever it comes back into stock I will get a £30 discount...so in total the tablet will cost £340...I left tabletless once again but atleast I will get a good deal whenever I do buy it. Patience is a virtue haha.
