Universal / Wizard screen ? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Is there a diffrence in resolution between the two screens. Have seen people mention about running the Universal in VGA mode. Can the wizard do this ?
Forgetting size, what are the main differences between the two devices ? I am wondering should I put up with the size for a much better device in the universal or is it not that much better ?

The Wizard,KJam, Vario has following screen specs
2.8" 240x320 TFT LCD
The Universal, JasJar, Exec has the following screen specs
3.6" 480x640 TFT LCD
Other than that the Universal has 3G, the Wizard does not.
Thats pretty much it....

Display from s100 in a s200

Hi everybody
I became a s200 with a broken display. Now I changed the display in the s200 with a display from a s100. Because there are the same specifications. The touchpad is well but the sreen resolution is like 8bit. Have someone a idea Or is it not possible.
When I take the broken display the color are well! But the touchpad is broken .
Sorry for my english...
Thanks
the screen on the s100 in a low res one (well, lower then the one on the s200)
try changing between the two digitizers (thouch pad) of the screens, and then you will get a s200 res screen with the working s100 digitizer.
It's really quite easy, you just solder the 4 conectors to the new touchpad and thats alll!!!
If you need instruction on hot to do it feel free to PM me
TEL ME WHERE DID YOU BOUGTH THE S100 SCREEn

Lcd compatibility

I was wondering if anyone knows if i can take a wizards lcd and put it into my hermes that has a broken one?
Probably yes.
80% of wizards use Toppoly lcd screen also hermeses.
240x320 2.8" lcd screens are commonly samsung and toppoly.
well i tried putting the wizards screen in and the device would either not boot, or the screen was completely white. I am not sure if it is a problem with the d-pad connector, but who knows, any suggestions.

Jasjam Touch ?

Hi.
I'm new user here... and a newbie with ppc.
I Was wondering...
Do you think that by changing the Hermes LCD to HTC TOUCH LCD, will make Hermes be more sensitive to finger touch ?
Or maybe it will not work at all ?
Oren
If this is just theory, I really dont think that changing the lcds will help in sensitivity as the touch is basically a jasjam without the slideout keyboard. as to whether it will work or not, chances are it will (keep in mind it needs to fit and cables need to be compatable) but I'm not going to experiment on my $1000 baby....Cheers

[Q] Is it possible to change the type of screen the tablet has

In that if a tablet has a resistive screen can you change it for a capactive screen, if it is obviously the same size and the connector are the same?
Just curious as have an old resistive screen tablet which is cracked but no replacements are available.

Unfortunately no you can not, the electronics are different as is the actual sensing screen itself. Typically the cap sense might be connected/communicating to the main processor via an I2C bus, resistive might also (you can find chips that handle either cap sense or resistive screens), potentially given a lot of work (I have done this once) you can substitute a cap sense screen and interface chip for the res screen and interface chip by intercepting the comms bus between screen interface and processor - this requires extensive redesign and build so for typical commercial items it is not really on.... sorry.
