reset phone pad skin to default - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hello I have a T-Mobile MDA Pro. It has a very ugly theme, fortunately it is possible to change it back to windows mobile 5 defaults. Only the phone pad and the contactlist still show up in this ugly pinkt t-mobile look. How can I change that back to default wm5 too ?

i have sucessfully managed to reset the phone pad to the wm5 default skin via the registry. But the contact list as well as the call chortcuts are still in the tmobile look and feel. Also the phonepad has an ugly tmobile logo in the top right corner (With ugly white border). What can I do ?

while the above apprach resets the fullscreen phnepad to default, the popup phone pad (the one in the lower that can be used instead of the software keyboard) is STILL in the ugly T-Mobile look. How can I set that one to wm5 default too ?

Problem with eten skin

Hello all,
I did some searching and haven't really been able to find an answer so far. I am using the eten skin with smartdialer with the black glass blue skin. The problem is that all of the buttons have a gray shadow behind them. What's even more funny is the "History" button has a shadow behind it that says "Call History" and they don't seem to match up at all. Overall, none of the buttons are aligned correctly. Does anyone else have this problem and have you found a workaround?

First and foremost the Eten dialer program doesn't seem to work properly with smartdialing. It takes up too much space in the upper portion and causes the replacement of some of graphics like you are seeing.
Second you are using a skin pack on top using the Eten dialer. The Eten dialer replaces almost all of the phone program graphics, then you have replaced them again. The Eten dialer does not put the graphics in the same place as the original dialer program, so things aren't aligned properly with the text.
There's a (hacked?) version of Eten that supports smart dialing.
Unfortunately I'm also suffering from the same problem. WarlockLord, were you using any of paulyA's skins before this? The text looks like "legacy text" from his classic skins. I was using the original Eten dialer with the famous orange skin before this.
I'll post again if I find a solution to this...
I use the E-Ten dialer with smartdialing for over a week now on my Wizard.
(Pauly A) Said that it has some bugs and that it is a beta version, I didn't find or noticed ANY bugs!
It works just perfect on my device (with the standard blue skin).

The problem with th e*Beta* version of the Eten dialler is that, even though the original (non-SD) version used 'drawn' buttons, the new version uses a comination of the two, the number pad is 'drawn' while the in-call pad seems to require system fonts, the PaulyA versions of skins have drawn buttons in both version... there are versions of the Eten Dialler with SD support that use drawn or system buttons here, and also a landscape skin, however I find either one has the same issues on the in-call pad!! Others seem to have had success though...
Has anyone had a problem with the Eten dialer and SPB Pocket Plus?
Every time I have them both installed, once I reboot, my device gets hung on the Windows boot screen. Any ideas?

First I installed pocket plus 3.0 and afterwards the E-Ten Dialer, then I tried it the other way round: first Eten Dialer, then SPB Pocket Plus...same result:
It hangs up in the windows mobile startup-screen.

Never thought I'd want to keep a branding but..

...it seems, if I use the Fit4Cat tweaker to turn off the skinning of the phone, the t-mobile dial pad goes back to being normal windows-look one, but the smartdial no longer works! If i choose the menu option, nothing happens and typing part of a number in doesnt do a contacts lookup. Does anyone know what went wrong?
I don't know the why's and where fores but I hear you on the ugly TMobile Dialpad.
I used one of THESE (the reptile_red one) to change thedial pad and I still have smart dial functionality.

Changing Security Pad on Artemis (Skin)

Hi Guys,
I am just changing my theme over to an all black version and I am having some difficulty with the zombie security pad skin.
The pad I am talking about is when you have a PIN number on your SIM and start the device, the security pad asks you to enter it so it can switch the SIM on. By default this pad has blue buttons, however zombie has been able to change this to black:

When I load this on my device and soft reset, the skin just stays at the default and the new skin is not applied. I have read that some phones skin this pad slightly differently, so the skin I am applying does not work.
I am wondering if anyone has modified this to work on our phones or would have the skills to do it?

i tried to change that too. no chance. the bitmap files which are necessary for changing are locked. (they reside in \windows\ dir.)
I would've thought the dialler images were located in the same place, yet the dialler is skinable. Are it's files in a different location?

Dissappearing dialer skin after changing today skin

I have a dutch HTC P4350 and I hate the green today theme.
But when I change the today theme, the device asks for a soft reser and when its again up and running the dailer skin has disappeared.
I only have grey buttons which are ugly (imho).
Has anybody this problem?
Can it be fixed?
I was thinking that the problem is a invalid link in the registry to the default dailer theme because when I restore the original htc green today theme, also the dailer is restored (after a soft reset.)
Can someone help me???

I have this problem also. I have tried two hard resets and nothing works.
Can't say I've ever used the skin, so don't know what it's doing, but the long way around might be to get the .tsk file (the theme) and decompile it with WinCE Cab manager to see what registry settings it's changing.
Then just ensure that those registry keys stay as they should after changing the theme.

Hmm, decompiling the tsk file, seems to be difficult.
I spoke to HTC support, but they don't know the problem exist.
Think it's a bug in the rom or ext rom because I have no problem with my HTC P3600.

On my HTC Herald (p4350) the Smart Dialer Application skin has a light gray background and the text (caller/callee, elapsed time, etc.) is in white and therefore barely readable.
I changed the following key
HKLM/Software/HTC/?PhoneCanvas/Task0
in that I changed the value of the REG_DWORDs
DIALER/portrait/text:textColor
DIALER/landscape/text:textColor
from their default value FFFFFF (hex) to 000000 (hex). That changed the color of the text from white to black in both orientation modes (after soft reset).
I tried it on my brand new device and dont have this problem. I changed to the standard windows theme and I got a grey dialerskin (with smart dialing working)
Smart Dialing
I had a problem with the HTC Dialler skin disabling the smart dialling. After reading many forums i gave up on trying to get that particular skin working and opted for one of these http://www.zombienexus.net/portal/GH_ShowArticle.asp?HID=35&CATID=1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|9|10|11|12 The black skin is a little too black for my liking and was overriding the "HTC new theme". I just changed to another theme and back again and hey presto, colour scheme as I wanted it AND my smart dialler working. Haven't looked at the memory usage yet but seems to work fine after the initial wait on first use.

[Q] Missing Dialer details

Have been modifying TP2 with many registry changes etc. Running WM6.1
However, seem to have "lost" part of the standard dialer and have trolled through the forums trying to find what files and .dll are being used by the DEFAULT dialler.
The HTC dialler works fine but I do not like it, so when swapping back to the default dialer, the buttons and keys are there, but where the list of previous numbers should be is just a grey area with no entries. Selecting any area WILL bring up the call record as normal.
I must have deleted\edited\corrupted something..........but even looking through back-ups, can not find a clue!
Otherwise, any clues on JUST a plug in dialer (everything I find seems to be a full package with today and other stuff) - I like the dialler on the TYTN2 - both for size and colour and am trying to replicate this if possible.
Colours and size are good for tapping when driving as here in UK must NOT hold a phone as illegal!
ANy clues on files/which registry keys hold the colours for the HTC keypad etc. would be useful as doesn't seem to be HKLM\security\phone\skin
