NO SIGNAL - Networking

hi im using Qtek 1010 and she do not get any signal and i did use the http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/ to flash the rom i have every think look good but still i cant have signal and im in Lebanon so please can some one provide me some help

you may get better results asking in the wallaby forum
this forum is mainly for wifi and GPRS networking not gsm networking
you may want to look at radiostack related stuff since if you flashed your device with a 900/1900 radio stack and your country use 900/1800 that would be the cause

RSU upgrades for Qtek 1010

I have upgraded to PPC2003 v 4.00.01 ENG from FTP..lycos.uk...and am very happy with the speed of the Qtek that has greatly improved. I have radio V. 3.19.01 that did not change with the upgrade ..Is there a better version of the Radio Stack?
If so where is the link? I use Qtek 1010 in Oman. ME
Ravi Radh
Hi,
my advice to you if your Radio is working fine with the upgrade dont change it.
Generaly the 3.19.01 was a good Radio version for QTEK when i upgraded to 3.23 i had problems in Lebanon. If ure device is working fine keep it like that.
Hi,
Thanks for the advice @ Arzleb. I think its better to keep it going this way as its difficult to have a stuck QTEK with an improper Radio in it.
Its just that this version of Radio I feel has a falling signal strength!! Could be the OMANTEL GSM network too!!
Its too early to evaluate as I got 3.19.01 ver just a week ago
Thanks
Ravi Radh
Well Ravi i tried every RSU possible on the QTEK in order to track the signal problem which i also have in Lebanon. Currently i am using the o2 4.21 and i can assure u its the same as 3.19 & 3.23.
I think sometimes the signal bars arent always right! i will give an exemple sometimes the bars shows 1 or 0 and i could still receive a call. Dont always trust the bars but also that doesnt mean that the Signal is good and i dont think its the device's fault. U could blame the operator 50% and the device 50%.
Now what is happening with me is that the bars change very fast on the same Cell i mean they drop to 1 then go up to 4 very fast like crazy lights and also in places were the signal on other phones are full on my QTEK is 1 or 2.
Anyways as long as no one is telling you that we are calling you and ure phone is closed i think ure safe.
Salam bro
Hello,
does any one have an executable file with the 3.13 version?
Thx!

Only for a better signal !!

Hi all ...
I am trying to decide should i sell my Qtek to buy the new XDA II or not :? , i thought it over alot, and i think the only need for upgrading is a better GSM signal, so could any one confirm that this is what i am going to get with the new XDA II ?
or could i get a better signal with my Qtek? knowing that my radio version is 4.16.00 and i am in kuwait.
waitting for your answers ...
You could try upgrading to Radio Stack 4.21 to see if it helps. Some signal strength issues were resolved from 4.16 to 4.21, I think.
Also: if you're using a 4.x (WM2003) ROM, signal strength went down when you switched. This is just a change in how signal strength is displayed, and does not reflect a change in the level of signal received.
(Please be aware upgrading your Radio Stack comes with certain dangers, and that the procedure to do so is not well-understood, and that we, or anyone else, can't help you in the event something goes wrong...)

Is there way to have signal in EU with T-Mobile Radio ?

Hi everybody,
i just do some updates to my XDA ...
first i do the 4.00.16 ENG T-Mobile US rom... end all ok.
after i do the T-Mobile RU 6.24.00 and i never take the GSM service (i live in Italy)
after i do the AT&t A 20.10 and i never take the GSM service also
last i return at O2 4.21 that i hate because every time that i lost the GSM service, he never come back until reset...
Is there some way to take a european GSM service with some T-Mobile os AT&T radio stack please ?
Thanks all
Denis
did you switch to the 800 band? if its set to 1900 (for the us) you won't get a signal. you should get coverage on the 800 frequency.
This is a well known problem among many users. I have been "fighting" against this since some weeks. I almost tried everything. Even when I tried a T-mobile radio stack together with a T-Mobile SIM-Card (Austria) it did not work properly. After some hours it loses the signal and a soft reset is required. I never had any errors during installation of ROMs or radio stacks.
I am wondering if it would make sense to bring it in for service.
My last hope is an update of the radio stack (maybe together with the WM2003 update).
At the end of the day I can say that the XDA is not the thing I need. Maybe the XDA2 is better.
Exactly for this reason i want to change my XDA with XDA II... but in Italy is only some XDA II buyed from Germany... well have german language os.
Anyware... if somebody now how to make funntional the T-Mobile radio stack in europe ... please let me know.
Thanks all
Denis
It appears that the best thing going right now for you European users is the latest Qtek 1010 Radio Stack Upgrade.
It can be found at:
http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads/asiapacific.htm
Download Radio Upgrade File : RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG).exe
BTW read the WARNING
Also from the looks of the site this RS might be pretty close to the one thats being used in the XDAII....?
HTH
How do you know that this is the best RSU for Europe ?
Any personal experience ?
Romania (yes ... it's Europe)
Here I'm using a T-Mobile US phone with 6.24.00 with no problems, including GPRS.
I've also a custom built 4.00.21 (and I can't wait for the 4.01.00  )
So it should work without problems on the 900 band. The 1900 is no use and also you cannot get to the 1800 since hardware defaults.

low network signal on my new ROM XDA..y?

I updated my new ROM and cook a win2003 4.01.12 euro xda dev data. Im living in Asia. Ive found out that my signal in the network is quite Low compare before. From playing w/ my devices (with the same radio stack and the phone in the same physical place), ROMs with 2002 seem to show more signal bars than 2003 ROMs.

Time for a few more questions....!!
Hi,
Does your phone display the "U" (or 3G) symbol to denote that 3G coverage is available?? I looked at your website to get your location and plugged it into http://enableoci.orange.co.uk/uk/UKCoverageSearch.htm (I used the town rather than the postcode to get an overall coverage map) - it looks a bit patchy to me (for your work postcode, the local area looks pretty good); I guess it depends on whether you're using the phone at work or when you're out and about?
Do you know what radio version is on your phone; has it been updated with one of the radios and/or ROM's from this site or does it have the standard issue Orange radio? You can find out by going to Start | Settings | System tab | Device information. If the radio version is >= 1.38.x.x then you should be fine (although some people on Orange have reported that radio 1.41.x.x is not as good as 1.40.x.x - opinions vary ).
Do you or any colleagues have another Orange 3G phone that works where yours doesn't?? We need to establish whether the problem is just with your phone or whether it is in fact related to the 3G coverage generally.
Let me know how you get on
Mark.
Hi Mark,
My mission is to get this phone working on Vodafone 3g. I was testing Orange to see if it was a network problem.
I am now at my office and when in phone mode it now displays
UMTS Orange and the 3g signal, calls and browsing are now allowed!!
Here is the device info:
Rom Version 2.11.255.1
ROm Date 03/07/07
Radio 1.38.00.10
Protocol Version 32.71.7020.12H
ExtRom 2.11.255.104
I am just waiting to get a Vodafone 3g Sim Card to test, to see if it was only a matter of location.
Many Thanks

Have you tried the radio engineering test application?
I had a similar problem using my Vodafone with an O2 SIM card. I'd installed the O2 settings cab but still the data stuff wouldn't work.
The problem turned out to be that the data connection was still trying to use the Vodafone settings. To resolve this I installed Daniel Herrero's Bandswitch. This allows me to disable connection settings and only leave the settings active for the current SIM.
