Hello,
I installed the english Test Rom with the Bluetooth stereo function on my VPA compact II. After changing the keybaord layout to german here my next problem. In the german version Rom, the input of text begins with a big letter like B in english it is b - the T9 words are in english...
What must i do to change this things - german T9 and big letters at the beginning of sentences?
I hope anyone can help me...
Thank you so much advance
T9 language:
Start > Settings > Input*
Input method: Phone Pad
[Options...]*
|Languages|
Database: German
Capitalization of first letter of sentence:
Starts > Settings > Input* > |Options| > [ ] Capitalize first letter of sentence
Hello,
thnaks fpr your answer - but this tipps don´t work.
I go the the settings menu and macke the changes - softreset an when i got to input settings again, the menu is keyboard (the keyboard is out and in use) and there are only standing english words. When i go to settings and phone pad there is standing german - but i input the SMS with the keyboard, not with the phone pad.
Can i do something else to get the words in german?
Ah, well - that's not really T9 then is it? Are you talking about the word completion/replacement feature?
If so, try reading through all of this:
http://pocketpcmag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18262
Or buy a third party keyboard that has the language of desire:
http://www.pdamill.com/prod_tk.shtml
Or just disable word completion / word replacement (especially the latter is annoying).
Good luck
P.S. I tried topkey a few days back when I tried about 15 SIPs, and I might end up buying topkey, myself because of the full keyboard customization option and sleek looks Only $10 - might save you a lot of hassle with those dictionary files.
does an english wizard have the same physical keyboard (letters in the same positions) than an italian or french or german wizard?
Are the keyboards all the same?
thanx
nope.. T-Mobile germany's keyboards are QWERTZ:

While here's a French AZERTY:

well...i need to know the italian and the english...do they match?
as far as letter and number keys go, yes - IT and EN are both:
QWERTYUIOP
ASDFGHJKL
ZXCVBNM
There may be some difference in the other keys, due to the italian language making use of extended letters a lot (thus putting them on the keyboard would be useful for users of it).
Haven't spotted a picture of an IT one yet
if the underlying question is: Can I use an english ROM with an italian device? The answer is : yes. You will find other posts that explain what registry changes will let you map correctly the keyboard. Like in France we use AZERTY keyboards, so making the correct registry changes, we can use our french keyboard and use the A key and get an A instead of a Q
yes but the problem is that in italian qwerty there are buttons for à,è,é,ò,ì,ù ...very used letter in my language...i just wonder if on english qwerty these letters/button ar present and primary.
Its' the same in French! If you have an italian device and if you update correctly the registry you should have all keys functionning as before. I've not tested it yet on my phone (still a french ROM) but I do it on my PC: french keyboard and english OS. I can use all the accented letters like if I were using a French keyboard with a French OS. I don't see why it should be otherwise on the PPC.
i can't explain...sorry!
what I mean is if the letter/button "è" (for instance) is NOT PHISICALLY present/written on the phisycal qwerty english tkeyboard BUT it is present ( and IT IS PRESENT because I use it everyday) on the italian qwerty...this answers to my question
Not quite sure what you are looking for exactly. Anyway, maybe this will help:
go to \HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd
There should be a "Locale" string value. If it's not there create it! and give it the value "0410"
To get the accented letters like e
press e
then the blue dot (left bottom corner)
then the space bar
I hope I'm making sense.Good luck!
:x
He's asking whether the keys are physically there on the slide-out keyboard. I.e. is there a little label / sticker with "è" on it?
There isn't one the English version (you can still get that character by means of the Sym key in combination with the 'e' key).
just to add confusion to this problem.
i have a t mobile MDA and a frien has a O2 mini and the keyboard layout is different on both. the Mini gets the benefit of a '£' sign whilst i have to get the electronic keyboard out for this. i suppose i could do a reg edit, anyone know how???
WWE ROMS doesn't have Polish language support so here there are some useful files.
eT9.Rhodium.wwe.kmap.txt
- this file adds Polish support to hardware keyboard. Fn + latin letter should be used. Because originally some combinations (oln) are used for other symbols they are moved to the first free letter on left so "-" can be get by Fn+Y, ' " ' by Fn+G and "/" by Fn+B.
Additionally Polish opening and closing citation marks („”) can be get by Fn+Q and Fn+W
Installation: the file should be copied to Windows folder in Main Memory.
Polish T9:
Attached CAB file was used for Raphael (Touch HD) but works on Rhodium (Pro 2). I don't know who made this CAB.
I'm still looking for onscreen SIPs to decrease number of suggested characters after long button press - to have just Polish letters no western accented characters.
Hi There!
I (and I think a lot of others too) would be interested in something like a hack/mod/app ...whatever is needed for the hardware keyboard of the Motorola Droid aka Milestone.
You get a selection of special characters when you long press a key.
e.g. a long press of "o" offers you ó ò ö and some more over a popup on the screen.
But in German we only have 4 special characters: ü ä ö and ß
So, it would be much more useful that if you long press "o", that you get a "ö" directly without having to choose it on the screen.
o => ö, O => Ö
a => ä, A => A
u => ü, U => Ü
s => ß
Is this possible?
(I hope you can even see the special characters in this post)
Yes. Does anyone know if this could be done?
All Scandinavians could use this too.
For Norwegians the following would be nice:
o > ø
a > å
e > æ
There are so damned many å's in our language that I have to keep holding and tapping the screen all the time, it really defeats the purpose of having a great hardware keyboard.
Hi everyone...
I'm new in the WM world so i'm asking for your help:
How do I get PCM Keyboard to work in Portuguese?
I tried the 0.14, with a portuguese layout I found on the web (the only one I found!!!) and iphone skin... it works but... it has some bugs:
- missing the "_" in the layout
- when I try typing the name of a contact in a SMS so I would normally get the contact suggestion, the list only appears when a click on backspace button (ex.: I want to send a SMS to John, I type "J" (nothing appears), I continue typing "JO" (still nothing), then I click on the backspace button (and ONLY THEN, a suggestion list appears).
I installed the new version (0.24) but it's impossible to find a portuguese layout!!!
Any portuguese in the room (or others you may know where I can find the files I need...)?
Thank you so much!
