I have bought a new SD card for my XDA IIi, a PNY 2GB SD (133x) (ID: EMET1064) and I formated it in my Cassio exilim z-55 camera..
I don*t know if this was stupid or not, but the card only showed 954 MB. I tried again to format it in the PDA, got the same result. The card shows only 1 GB out of 2.
Any of you got this problem with 2GB SD cards?
On the datakits.co.uk site they point it is compatible with XDA and XDA II (don*t know it for XDA IIi, though)

By the looks of things mate, it looks like they have miss labled the SD card, although my SD card is a 1Gb and it shows as 975.41 Mb.
In any case it isnt showing the correct capacity so i'd be more than tempted to ask for a replacement. Just be prepared for a wait.

Sure ... use the EXE method, and if it doesn't work (most propably won't after any T-mobile ROM) then get a ROM backup using your SD card from another working XDA that has 4.00.05 and flash your device with it.

If you need to use the SD card method, I think you need at least a 64 MB card, probably a 128 MB. From memory the low level image you need to write onto the SD card is 64MB, even though the image you are writing is only 32MB.

I bought a sandisk 1g sd card for my XDA II. During copying files (+- 500MB) via USB, activesync gives me an error (A device stopped functioning...) afterwhich the XDA doesn't see the card at all.
The supplier replaced the card and the same thing has happened the first time I wrote to the new card.
I can't format the card because the XDA doesn't see it.
What can I do?

My 512MB card works perfectly
I find that transfering anything to an SD Card on my XDA takes forever. Whenever I want to transfer anything over, I use a card reader.
It may be worth investing in one, as they're only around £15-30. The speeds will be MUCH faster, and I recon you may be rid of this error.

You may have to format ur SD first, I recommend formatting it to FAT32..
U can format it using StorageTools or Pocket Mechanic.. U can Google them, I can't remember where I downld them..
I recommend format it using Card Reader on your PC not on your pocketpc

You might post the brand of card & more details about exactly what is happening.
I'm using a SanDisk Ultra II 2 GB myself.
just put this card in card slot on your device - thats all... i do this just when open the new card from box - and thats work in my magician

Tomtom 5 w/ CA+NV map ~ 110mb
IGuidance w/CA + NV map ~ 170mb
Mp3s ~200mb
Music Video ~300mb
.... Not much left for programs, games ..... etc even for a 1G SD.
Only magicians with version windows 1.06 and 1.03 can work with SD cards 150x 2 Gb. All other versions can't do this. My magician offers me to format the 150x 2 Gb Transcend SD card. How can I fix it?

I have a similar problem, the card works, the device asked me to format it, but after the format my S100 detects it as a 135 MB card. I don't have a card reader totry formating the gard in in , but while in the phone i tried to format it from my PC - no change - after the formating it's still detected as 135MB. How can I fix this?

Try Softick CardExport II - use trial to format SD with PC.
I've tried Resco Explorer, Softick CardExport II<both format on the device and from my PC in card export mode> and Pocket Mechanic- all the three of them detect it as 135 MB card. The card is working great with Universal, so it's OK and it's realy 1 GB....

mine is a 1.03 version. even a 512mb 150x ridata pro wont work with it. can't be detected.

Use the utillity Pocket Mechanic, it going to help you to perdormance your SD. The last version is 1.60 or the Pro version is 2.10.
Based on previous posts, I have just purchased a Sandisk 8Gb microSDHC, and a Sandisk microSD -> miniSD adapter.
The card works in my Trinity, without installing any drivers, editing registry etc - simple plug and play.
I would like to use this thread to gather experiences with the Sandisk 6 and 8Gb microSDHC cards - do they work for you or not? + system details.
My details:
Sandisk 8Gb micro SDHC (code: SDSDQR-8192-E12M) (Write speed: 13Mb/s - Read speed: 17Mb/s, according to H2testw.exe)
Sandisk microSD -> miniSD adapter (part of: SDSDQ-2048-E12MK)
MARY 3.3.5 SL (OS 5.2.1933)

Card formatted to FAT32
Works without installing drivers or editing registry.

I suppose that MARY 3.3.5 SL might have some SDHC "patch" or something included.
8GB SanDisk card is still quite expensive for me but today I'll try the 4GB Kingston SDHC. Hope it works (after all I'm using stock Dopod ROM).

Yep ... just figured it out myself ... WM6 really works with SDHC I bought one.
8Gb Sandisk worked for me
Just got my microSDHC 8Gb Sandisk today with a mini-SD adapter. Plugged it in and it works. No additional drivers or formatting needed.

My ROM 3.00.707.17, Radio 1.46.00.11 same as yours, upgraded to WM6.
But my 4GB microSDHC show 0.00MB, device don't recognise card.
How you solve your problems?

when i first bought a 2 gb generic minisd card, my trinity won't read it. I got an exchange for a sandisk 2 gb minisd and havne't had trouble with it. Try using card from manufacturer (brand name)?
Now i use 8 gig microsdhc by sandisk with a generic micro to mini converter and haven't have trouble with it. Though I just lost all my media files (probably because i soft reboot it while the windows media player and/or htc music player is running). But this is not an issue with the card as I have TOMTOM gps on it (the card) and the program still runs.

Iv'e got my 8 Gb (Sandisk micro+adapter) over the internet, from www.optize.es (spanish, but should be everywhere, anyway)
It works pretty nice, (WM6 Faman ROM) but you should have A FULL BACKUP of your data, as for some reason WM6 seems to trash folders from time to time.
I don't know if this is related to large capacity cards, but expect this problem every other month or so. I got my TomTom map folder corrupted in the middle of a trip!
