Please turn flight mode off first ..... - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

I know you've seen that before, but how do i get rid of it ? It comes up, without ascing it, when i make a call, it's on the screen, when i want to turn bluetooth on, it's on the screen, and i don't want it, how do i move it ?
THX

i dont know, i've got that a couple of times before when i tried turning my BT on.. what i did was turn flight mode on then off and it fixes it. i got that message maybe 3 times and i havent got it in a while now.

Hi there
My guess is that you are using a small proggy to turn on/off the flightmode, right? Well, that program does indeed turn off the BT part, but it doesn't always turn it back on again! Try using another switcher, or use the built in flightmode functionality instead.

XDA 2 always on handsfree (speaker on)

Quote this FAQ from myxda.com :
Q. Is it possible to activate the loudspeaker on my xda before choosing a telephone number? Is it possible to permanently turn the loudspeaker on loud, so i do not have to press the green button?
A. There is a way for doing this. The only disadvantage: after a soft-reset this setting is not activated anymore and must be readjusted. Dial any number, for example the Voicemail Box, so that nobody is disturbed by a phone call. Then disconnect and tip onto the signal symbol in the title bar. Tip onto the disconnect telephone button and then immediately press the green button (accept telephone call) keeping it pressed until the note appears: The loudspeaker is activated. The telephone then disconnects, without establishing a connection. The information that the loudspeaker is activated remains. The next step is turning on the telephone. The loudspeaker is turned on instantly with each dialled number. However, you can always turn the loudspeaker on or off by pressing the green button a little longer BEFORE dialling.
I've tried it and there is no response, even I can not get first step (Tip on the disconnect button ). May be this FAQ is only for XDA I ...
Has anybody tried it on an XDA II ?
Has anybody a way to permanently activate loudspeaker on XDA II ?
Yes, I've tried it, it works.
But sometimes could be difficult to activate due to some lag or slow response time for taps ... Once activated, the screen will look like this:
Can yo please explain it step by step ?
I've tried a lot of times, withou results. Thanks
ok, i found this easier:
- Turn on flight mode.
- Press green button for a few seconds until it says "Speakerphone is on". (Don't worry, as you're on flight mode, no call is made)
- Now, turn off flight mode to use the phone and have the speakerphone always on.
Enjoy.
No way !!
Turn On fligth mode.
--Press green Button while in TODAY opens Phone Screen
---Press green button while in PHONE screen shows Buuble "The phone is currently off. Dou you want to turn Wireless on?
I have ROM 1.60.00 WWE
-- Radio Version 1.10.00
You'll have to PRESS DOWN AND HOLD the green button for about 2 seconds. Not just one click.
Of course I did it
Have you been able to activate speakerphone during a call before?
The procedure is the same, press and hold down the Green button should activate, except that this is done when flightmode is on.
It's strange why your unit doesn't behave the same? Try hold down longer perhaps..
@chriswo
sorry for OT, but PLEEEEASSSE let me know the name of that software you're using for the today screen. i've been desperately looking for something like this for ages now.
thanks
regards ize|man
if you mean
chriswo's screenshot
then do you mean the signal strength
or ?
if you're talking about the launcher, it's called cLaunch, it's free.
Yes I can activate it during a call, and as I like it (it works 'sufficient' for me as a hands free for the car) is because I wanted to have it always activated.
May be there is some installed software. Will try to uninstall what is not essential. Can you post your rom & radio versions ?
boyz boyz you're fast as lightning
i just updated the screenshot. pls reload this page.
and YES it's cLaunch i just googled and it seems to be what i need (BIG buttons on the today screen)
thanks a lot
regards ize|man
Alrught, if you find it difficult to activate Speakerphone while on flight mode. try this:
On PHONE display, turn on flight mode and immediately PRESS AND HOLD DOWN the green button. Don't let it go completely on flight mode, so you got to do it while the radio was shutting down.
try that and let us know.
OK, this one WORKED without problem.
Now I have a 'perfect' and 'cheap' handsfree for my car.
THANK YOU very much !!!
Chriswo?
Where did you get that signalstrenght today plug in from ? looks really good
That's HudsonMobile PhoneDashboard.
Anyone notice if you cancel the speakerphone, then enable your bluetooth headset and make a call, the headset stays connected even after you end the call?
I don't know if this really is an advantage or not, I'll see how much more the battery drains if any.
Also, I notice that after activating the speakerphone "always-on", my ringetone gets almost silent. :?

App to turn it OFF?

Is there an app or something that can turn the device completely off? I hate this alway on mode that WM insists on :?
Cheers
btw. using a qtek9000
Why do you want it completely off?
I think that's normal for pocket pcs isn't it? I know the XDA2 was the same. Feels weird at first but you get used to it.
Putting it in flight mode then turning the screen off is the closest you can get. Or you can take the battery out to turn it off completely, but that's just ball ache

Well, sometimes I don't use it for a few days, so I'd like it off...
If I take the battery out, then out it back in, it stays off until the power button is pressed, that's the kind of app I'd like. Like psshutXP, but that really turns it off...
Maby there's no way to do this though

Yea, I'm used to it, having owned a few different PPC's, I just figured that a device that doesn't lose all info when the battery runs out should have a proper off button
I am not sure but maybe u can take a look at SkSchema (commercial).
A lot of functions including POWER OFF but I!m a user of Wizard (has off function itself) so nor sure works for u

Press the power button several seconds and you will see a popup showing ...."the pda will turn off". Then your pda will be completly turned off (no phone, no energy, etc)

Profiles for Wifi/GPS/BT etc ??

Ok,
I was on eXpansys some while back, and read on the HP 6915's page that you could change profiles on the today screen to change wireless protocols.
For example you could setup the following.
Home - Wifi On, BT off, GPS off, GSM on.
Car - Wifi Off, BT on, GPS on, GSM on.
Work power - Wifi on, BT on, GPS off, GSM on.
Work no power - Wifi off, BT off, GPS off, GSM on.
Would make my life a lot easier that's for sure.
Is that something that HP came up with themselves ?? Is it a download somewhere?? Anyone HELP!!
Not a built-in/free solution, but PocketZenPhone is pretty good for this:
www.pocketzenphone.net
Cheap too, EUR$8/USD$10...
Yes that's sort of what I'm after, but I really want something I can setup and just leave on the today screen, with the option for GPS aswell (I don't think that has it).
Phonealarm is what you need. Haven't not tried it on my Trinity but was pretty erractic on my P800W(Artemis).

I don't think you need to worry about GPS, it comes on when you launch a program that needs it and turns itself off when the program closes.

PocketZenPhone installs an icon that sits at the bottom of the today screen - either tap on it or or use the scroll wheel/button to change profile. It also has a today plugin, but it takes up a lot of real-estate... You can also use Voice Command to change profile by fiddling with the shortcuts.
You are right about GPS - it doesn't handle that, but since the GPS doesn't actually transmit anything there is very little to be gained by switching it off - not even sure if the various GPS ROMs for Trinity have this option.

My phone screen does not turn off

Does anyone try before that the screen wont turn off?
I didn't install anything new in these 2 days, but the screen started on all the time.
I need to press the on/off to turn it off manually.
( I dont have the always on setting on, and no matter I changed the timeout to 15s, or 1min, it wont work)
My gf's one had the same issue before, but we dont know how but it fixed.
Looks like a random bug
It is so annoying that if I had notification at night, it keeps on for the whole night!!
Anyone has/had the same problem?
My wife's phone is having the same issue, but since she doesn't want me to check .. I just kinda left it alone.

Whenever I switch from LTE/3G to wifi the Hands Free starts by itself. At first I thought I was touching the home button every time I came home and left the car, was "driving" me crazy... But finally figured it was when I changed to my home wifi that it started automatically.

Everytime when i return home and the phone automatically change to home wifi, the hands-free mode turn on automatically
But I want to use my home wifi when i am at home, or my office wifi when i am at office
but i DO NOT want the hands-free mode turn on.
Is there any solution to solve this??? Is this a FLAW ?? a BUG ??
I have not seen a solution or any widespread problem reported. I have confirmed it auto starts when switching from 3G/LTE/4G to WIFI.

Hands-free mode bug
I have the same issue. I bet they call it a feature but it is a bug. I do not need hands-free mode while I am connected to my home wifi. Why would anyone want to have that mode turned on automatically again, after I turned it off?
This is a bug - looking for a solution!
Problem Solved
I found a solution to the problem - at least it worked for me.
Go to location services under settings, chose my places, chose car, select method - none, save.
Now the hands-free mode does not turn on automatically.
Hope this works.

Was having the same issue on my Tmobile N3.
This Works. I remember at one point adding these settings in. Would have never thought that it would do all that. Either way thank you! :good:

You, my friend, are some kind of genius! This thing has been bugging me for weeks! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I hope this helps someone...
I found this thread via a search for my issue, which is that I have an S4 (SCH-I545) running MK2 and Hyperdrive and when I put it in the iBolt xPro car dock, 2 instances of HANDSFREE show in the notification panel. A screenshot of the screen when docked.
Itried the actions described in this thread, buit those boxes were already unchecked.
I found on another thread that disabling the S Voice app would help.
Well, turning off the S Voice app did get rid of one, of the two instances of HANDSFREE, in the notification panel, when docked.
Now to figure out how to remove the other....
I have the same exact problem and it's very annoying as it read out messages and answers phone calls sometimes too when it hears people talking in the background
Really stupid I'm thinking to switch to iOS
