Getting an XDA IIi very soon - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi guys,
I've only noticed this forum over the last two days (and only decide I was getting an XDA on 5th July) but I have found it to be very friendly (unlike certain xbox forums) and I think you guys want to make us n00bs enjoy our XDA. Here we go then
I've decided to opt for an XDA IIi over the IIs due to the better proccessor.
So, I'm going to get one over Ebay unless someone on here can help.
So it's likely to be running WM 2003 so is there a thread on how to update it (english lang). Any decent apps and whats the latest version of Quake??? I love that game
So, Thanks guys

XDA 2 virgin pleas take advantage of me.....

Hi,
finally found a forum that deals with XDA II`s.
ex 6600 user growing up, and now purchased one of these xda II`s.
Knowing nothing about it, i was wondering if the windows 2003 that comes with it needs to be upgrade (if possible)
Also any essential software i should get, and any guides to follow.
Any info muchly appreciated
Thanks
Well I dunno what you're into, but the second I get mine I'm getting Snails ( www.snailsgame.com ). Excellent Worms clone.

Up to date, Up to speed ...

Hi folks, its almost time for my annual upgrade for my O2 contract so im very keen to get myself an XDA Mini s.
So without having to trawl through another 6 million threads on ROM updates and which is the best, would someone please be kind enough to tell me ?
My current phone is the XDA IIi which isnt too bad but i want a phone sized device now, the IIi was far too bulky for me. The Wizard (variant) will be used simply as a phone, ie i wont be installing TomTom on it, i'll use the XDA IIi for that instead.
So programs i would run will be SPBPocketplus and nothing much else (unless recommended)
Cheers in advance, and yup i had been looking arround to find Info before i created this thread, after the 10th thread ROM versions kinda blur.

XDA II/IIi, difference, which one?

Hey all
Wasn't sure where would be best to post this so thought id post it in the most likely one!
I'm close to buying a 'pda-phone' and i have a choice between the XDA II or the XDA IIi,
i know (from the forums) that the XDA II can be upgraded to WM5, and that development is pretty much 'current' (i.e there are AKU3 roms available) so would it be best for me to go with one of these?
I currently have a Qtek 8310 and an I-Mate SP3i (which is of course running a WM5 rom!)
could users of either of these PDA's please advise me which is better.
I'd be using the PDA-phone mainly for calling (have sim with free minutes! ), reading E-Books (do a LOT of this, so quality of the screen is important) and watching movies if the device is fast enough!
could anybody who has/or does do any of the above please tell me of your experiences with this device.
THANK YOU!

best cooked rom?

hi guys, im new to the world of pdas/smartphones and have recently purchased an alpine (o2 xdaIIi) that should arrive tomorrow so i've been looking at upgrading before i start putting info onto it and wiping it in the process.
i've read as much as i can take in over the past couple of days about upgrading the software before posting anything too stupid.
my question is, out of the two rom updates i have managed to find active links for which would you recommend as the most stable?
alpine-1.11.171-radio-1.04-bluetooth-patched-camera-fixed.rar
Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed.rar
personally i dont really mind if it has the 02 stuff on it or not as i'm with that provider anyway, going on version numbers i would say the first one would APPEAR to be the one to go for but experience tells me newer isn't always better. i appreciate any input from senior members.

happy new year
Happy new year 2012 for all people
I got a Nokia X6 too. And as far as I have researched, its not possible to have any android on X6. Amongst the reasons, I learnt that the hardware is not good enough. Plus Symbian is not open like android-so its not that simple. If However, I am wrong-and I would be overjoyed if that were The case, then I would really really be extremely grateful to anyone who would enable us to run android or even the apps properly on Nokia x6..
