hello ppl . i guess most of the people using wm2k5 must b wanting these.
1)in wm2k3 se we were able 2 make 7 simultaneous phone calls.likea fter keeping one on hold and so on.but in 2k5 we can make maximum 2 calls and thers no conference also.
2)and also the PHOTOCONTACTS SAOFTWARE IN THAT WE COULD PERSONALIZE THE ALERT STYLE SIZE COLORS ETC . DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY APPLICATION LIKE THE PHOTO CONTACS FROM 2K3 SE?
3)THIS IS 1 APPLICATION I WANTED.....PLEAASE IF ANYONE HAS IT POST IT EHRE OR PM ME. DO U HAVE A FULL SCREEN CALLER? LIKE WHEN WE GET A CALL I WANT THE IMAGE OF THE PERSON 2 SHOW QUIET BIG OR ATLEAST HALF THE SCREEEN SIZE PLZ GIME SUCH AN APP ILL B VERY GREATFUL THANX....
Photo contacts allows the person picture to be shown full screen if i aren't wrong.
Do you really need photo contacts in 2k5? You can assign photos to all of your contacts when you edit each individual contact through Contacts.
i know we can edit individual contacts but the thing i want is 2 increase the image size that pops up .currently its so small its as good as not having an image coz u cant see the persons face...so if u have any such application in mind kindly let me know thanx

Im having fun with the XDA 2 camera, even though its not a megapixel one but it still produce quality pictures.
What i'm into right now are the templates for the camera, like the magazine and totem templates built-in.
My question is, these templates are GIF in natures, How can they be created and do they have special formats if a make a GIF file in any picture/photo/drawing software?
Also, where can we download additional templates?

But now it is out of market..and site is down.
Unfortunately I don't have any copy of it..Only some templates for Called ID
I've got a copy, but I don't have a server to upload and host it.
If someone can tell me where I can upload it, I'll put it in a RAR-file for you guys.
i would also like to know the specifics for creating these files and does anybody out there have any tips oh and the templates for Called ID where can we get them or create our own

thanks do you have any caller id templates there the ones i want to be able to create from those samples of the camera templates it seems that the picture area is defined by a white border in the last frame and you can create the multi photo template by adding an extra frame so in total you would have 3 frames the 1 st picture or main picture in the first frame then the second picture in the 2 nd frame and then the picture area frame the 3rd hope this makes sence

right then if you open one of the gif files in a animation/gif editing program such as animation shop which comes with paintshop pro you will see that it is made up of at least 2 seperate frames these seperate frames define diferent parts of the template
contents of a 2 frame template
Frame 1
This defines the design of the template basicly what you see when you use a template with the camera
Frame 2
This defines the area where the photo will be visble using a white line marking the area
for more than 2 frames
Every frame after the second shows what area the next phot will be placed in
i have included a sample jpg of what the difference in the frames should be

sorry, but i have a question, which folder am i suppose to put these files on my xda2? they have a .pit extension that my computer and xda2 doesn't recognize. i tried putting them in mydocuments/IACallerIDPhotos.

put it under My Documents/Templates
if you browse that folder, you will see that all kinds of templates are saved there (including Note templates)
Salaryman...put .pit files under mydocuments/templates

I want to know if there is any software available to Auto redial a number in case the phone u r trying to reach is enaged...!!!
Wont it be lovely to have such software. Most of the Nokia phones have such a feature.
Also My wish list is to have a software which will ask me to dial alternate number from your Contacts if the number u r dialing is busy..
Say if I call a contact at his home and the nuber is busy can the software pick up his / her mobile or office number and give a choice to dial the same..
I am sure some smart software engineer around in the forum can develop such an application.

well, it does look as if it is..coz they almost do everything our xda2's r doing regarding the Phone Functions... what added advantages r we getting out of having a Windows Mobile Phone OS ?

infact, even the Last Caller details r so horribly organised! if u call a person's number continiously if buzy, the name gets added the no. of times u been calling ,and it moves the latest calls contacts to a page or 2 back!
it shud also be arranged like in the Nokia fones, where u can tap on the number, and it can show u how many times u been calling them
Windows Mobile , must not show a contact name more than ocne in a Day. all the no. of calls to a particular contact in a day, shud be categorised within one entry!
well, as i see lotsa geniuses here around , making lil lil very important apps, i think, if the geniuses put their minds together, they will come out with a better OS than Microsof'ts...... if not that, atleast a goooood solution for this Call handling
Gurus, please do put a thought at this n try to make some nice app for this.

i used to havea handspring treo..a dn it had this programthat let u play a smal clip when somebody called.. it was somehthin like photo contacts but with video instes of photo.
an idea if this is possible with the JAM. or any other 3rd party program .

think i have itsort of figured out
well i couldnt get it exactly as i wanted but this is close.
the photo contacts rpogram in the jam had a feature called assign default picture. this alwasy the use of gif files also.
gif files r sort os image sequence that palyed at a certain speed depict animation. old school yes, but it works
so there r tons of gif files online. but if u want to maek u r own here is how.
teh downside to this is that u cant load big file. i haev a 440kb naimationa nd its just right.. anything bigger slows the caller id feature on my jam.
i use a mac. ( the best !!!!) so i haev quicktime pro version. here is feature called export so u export ur clip as an image sequence . set frame rate at 1 per sec. keep the quality teh least. this all keeps teh file size small.... u can messa round with this if u want..
then u get a string of files ( jpg ). save it a folder.
i use a program called GraphicConverter. load teh folder into teh pogram. adn click on convert to gif. set teh settings as gif movie. adn fidle around with the delay rate till u get it right..
now the movie u get the size is as big as ur original animation. shrink it too 218 by 164. this is the max the caller id take.. anything bigger and till will still kepp it to that size.. so no point makin it bigger.

you can try macromedia fireworks mx. I use this to make animated gif files but I make them really simple (just 2 frames)

what's the max. size of the gifs and in what folder to put it in?
there is no max size... but i noticed the bigger the file size the slower it loads. i thik anything below 500kb is good.
now it can u put anywhere..either in the sd card or in the main memory.
but i noticed that if u put in the main memory it loads faster too.
u can put in anywhere.....photo contacts searches everywhere
the next problem is: how to display the text (name caller and phone number) in front of the gif ?
Caller ID Template
I use XDA mini and I can create a calling template using a gif file.
Try this software then copy the created template to \My Documents\Templates
in xda mini.. there is program called caller id... go to ur particular contact then click edit adn click on assign photo... u can see all teh options there to add name etc
hey the gif files i loaded before were backgrounds. if u want a background PLUS a photo of a person at the saem time i thought it wasnt possible.. but it ispretty simple...
all u got to do is make a group and add ppl to that group.. then u assign a pic the the group using the program caller id again... then u assign individual pics teh each contact..... Voila....

I’m having a different problem altogether.
I can’t seem to get my called id template pics to work nor does it show the assigned pics when I use the photo contacts prog.
In which folder should the caller id folder be in? I might have changed it’s place while moving stuff to the memory card, but anyways shouldn’t the photos appear instead?

1)video call make sure your 3G is enabled.. when at the dailer, it is a "handset by the photo " icon..
2) not sure wat u mean but the photo is small
3) try under search like "big start menu " or something.. there are freeware out there for this
4) yes.. when in camera mode, u can find it in the settings

Ok
TCPMP (Core Player) and DivX player are the only solution so far to playing avi natively.
Otherwise one of the tools threads here has a converter from the TouchHD that will let you convert them nicely to run on the Xperia with Media player. Found HERE
The HTC Enlarge Start Menu is what you need to make it bigger.
Please find them all (except the converter) attached below.

Ok, To make a video call, select your contact then just press menu-> video call.
The dialing thing seems to just be the standard dialer. I tried increasing the screen font size from the setting but it has no effect on the dialer.
It's not really that small anyway? But then my eyes work perfectly and I can't speak for everyone.
Maybe you could try the Touchstone dialer from the HTC, it's a bit nicer looking. (I can't attach it right now like i have other files because I keep an archive of the cabs on my laptop which I'm not on right now (but was earlier).
You'll find it in one of the Sticky's for the Touchstone stuff.

i researched on Phonex 1.3 for the caller id problem which is i finding the caller id number appearing whenever theres a incoming call is straining on my eyes. but i saw the screenshots that the Phonex will actually add-on alot of icons and programs on the panel that i using. is there any program that only enlarges the caller id and nothing else?
read from the forum ppl saying about the antenna on the bottom back of the phone, suggesting pasting a clear body protection on the back. any recommendation on the brands to use? does it affect the screen sensitivity?

Phonex can be configured to not add the icons to the Today Screen and still have the display for incoming calls. For me, the reason I bought Phonex was the dialer, it eliminated the fustration I was having using the default dialer for conference calls.

Try " Photo Contacts Pro 5.11 " . I'm using it since a few days and all is customizable. I wanted a program to enlarge the call id screen only, and this can be configured for that. Best regards
