im using wm2k5 on himalaya.till yesterday my fone was working gr8. now i cannot sms messages i hav tried sim cards of three different networks . it just says ur message cannot be sent as soon as i click on send . it doesnt even try 2 send the message and saves it in draft auto plz help illl die without messaging..can any one reply asap ..thanx in advance
Have you checked to make sure that your SMS settings are still correct? Did you attempt a ROM update or a reset at some point? It sounds like it's a problem with either your PPC or the network you're using it on.
no i didnt do a rom update that was done 3 months back. n i soft reset my device arnd 5 times a day coz it hangs wen it is in standby mode but very rarely...n i dont know wat the problem is it seems as a prob with my ppc coz the same sim on other networks works exceellent

Check to make sure that the format of the number is correct...especially if you are using international dialing codes?
Eg make sure it doesn't read 44 7777 123456 instead of +44 7777.......
Let us know which way round this is.

I have 2 SIMS on Cingular. Is there anyway to show the phone number active on the today screen? This would help quickly identify which SIM is active. I've been looking without success. Thanks!
There are a few products that allow you to have 2 simcards in a phone ( you have to cute the little chip part out on both sims and put them in an adapter) I have heard that you usually get a pop-up on the phone saying what sim card to you want to use.
its something I am looking in to after I found out that T-moible allows you to get prepaid wifi/t-zones. I would get a tmoible prepaid and use it with my phone (cingular) but I dont know if I will be able to switch back and forth ( I know it requires a restart to switch)
there are alot of adapters that can be used to switch the SIMS. but what i am looking for is a program that shows the SIM phone number on the today screen to show me exactly which SIM is active.
SIM manager (in programs), can show you the number, but i have to load it each time. pain in arse. i just want to see it on the front page. any program that can do this?
there is a program called WIVIT that shows the number, but it doesn't work on WM5

i want to write a plugin (homescreen eg.) that shows me ok sim 1 or sim 2 ...
maybe there's an internal sim serial or so that we can readout the phone and use??

I had the same thought when I got mine.
I just use phonealarm - the scroller can be set up to display the current phone number.
Takes a couple of minutes to update, but works well.

Dual sim adaptor 10th generation (with Sim Tool Kit) and two 64k or more SIM cards, network doesn't matter.

hi, have one without dualsim stk...
had worked... not really long..
now i only can switch to one of the sims...
doens't matter if the sim is in sim1 or sim2 slot of dual sim...
today i have received the 2nd sim card of my operrator ... a new one.. same like sim1... maybe theres the problem...
but id had already worked... with this 2 sims... don't know why now not works...
in all other phones i have the dualsim and the 2 sims works...
the dualsim with the stkkit needs allegedly lot of battery? who can this confirm??

only problem i have is that i don't become a phone nr. of my sim???
what is the problem??
did not all operators show the number??

to view the nr. i have to add under program /sim/ extras/eigene nr...
but how can i read out that volume in programming???
the sim swichter tools is very unstable...
i only want 1line in today wheres the nr. displayed nothing more..

I saw many apps showing IMSI code of the SIM. This code is unique for each SIM.

anyone knows a programm that reads such fings? and shows on home screen??
or is there any app available that reads out the phone nr. of the sim and shows on home screen??

Apologies for delay in replying.
PhoneAlarm does do what you want, you just need a skin with a scroller region. Not all skins have them, including the ones you get by default. Try the SWIIQVGA or HGS6 skins. You'll also need to go into config to set the Telephone # as being displayed in the scroller.
You can create your own skins too. If you want you can create a skin with only a scroller region and set it to only display the tel # I suppose. Should be able to set the size of the text too.
BTW I use the sam as Pof. Works OK, if you can overcome your fear of taking a pair of scissors to your SIM cards.

I Just came to bahrain from pakistan..in paskitan my imate was working like a charm but when i came in bahrain i came to knew abt WM5 in himalyas..so i hooked up ma device wid llbashas and C_Shekars rom..now the problem is that when i insert a SIM card in the device..it says INVALID or MISSING sim card.i have tried xda2unlock..xda2unlockall..when i press the call button it displays a dial pad..when i press the numbers on it..they appear in the form of ASTERIKES(*)..when i insert some numbers a couple of time..it says UNSUPPORTED PIN...
NOW PLEASE HELP..any one who helps me has my prayers wid him for his entire life..i cant live wid out ma ppc

I have used HTC Tytn with Windows Mobile 5 previously... today I have bought another one with windows mobile 6 professional...
It was prefectly alright... I tried GPRS/Edge... Msging... Calling... Everything....
I tried to install persian language... it asks for reset... I do it... and after that my HTC stops at Windows mobile logo for a long time... I reset thrice and then take out the battery pack... remove SD Card... Remove Sim... and it works...
But after that when i have inserted sim it shows No service...
Although i have tried to change the automatic network selection to manual from Start> Settings> Personal> Phone> Network
It shows all the services availble in my country but when i select the one i am using.. It first shows the message box registring sim on the network.. and then the same error...
I have tried multiple sims but not a single sim works.. while the same sims are working absouletly great in the other sets
Can any body help me to solve this problem...
I guess it is due to windows mobile 6... can any body guide me how to uninstall wm6 and install wm5!!
If you bought the Hermes 2nd hand it could have been reported stolen meaning that you won't get it working on the network. It may also be locked but I'd suggest checking with your network if it has been reported stolen. You'll need the IMEI number, dial *#06# to get it.
If its not you could try to sim unlock it.
