whenever i install widcomm stack on my o2 mini and try to switch on the bluetooth it says " not enough driver memory "
what does it mean ??
my rom version is 1.03.00 WWE
radio version is 1.01.00
ext rom version is 1.03.166 WWE

this means what it says: your (as well as every other) JAM hasn't enough memory (to load the widcom bluetooth driver). Sad but true: There's no known way to get this stack (with it's nice features and advantages over the MS stack) running on our little helpers. Maybe some day... [dream mode on]

thats something i would like to know too, can i get rid of the M$ horror stack by upgrading to 128 ? (see my thread about screen deactivation)

As most of the newbies have problems finding the files on this forum (as it is quite big) I have decided to make a page where all downloads are available. Depends on what kind of bluetooth stack is in your PDA.
If it is Microsoft Bluetooth then this install wont work

Searching desperately for the German ROM
Hiya people. I have been looking for about a week now for a GERMAN version of the rom. Any ideas. I have a MDAII, german 1.72.01 rom, and wuld really hate to have to update to English, as I use the german Keyboard and spell check way too much!

LOL I am English, so Thanks :ö) I actually need the german ROM because of the German dictionary, that and the fact that about 20 % of my apps run in german, and freak out when I have an English ROM installed. The English progs work fine with the german rom though.
I have PDA Topkey installed, so the keyboard is not a real problem, but the fact that I use the german transcriber, and write SMS's in german is going to be a problem with an English ROM.

ROM builds with radio versions 1.05.00 and 1.10.00 all include audio enhancements for voice calls. Radio build 1.11.00 includes improved support for Cell Broadcast and SIM Toolkit applications. With radio 1.12.10 we have improved the settings for the echo cancellation to remove the phenomenon of "double talk", where a person calling a JAM customer will experience a minor echo if the other person is also talking at the same time.
All new builds contain the improved camera driver and fix for "No Bluetooth Hardware" bug. ROM builds 1.11.00 also includes a new MMS client for improved network compatability and an upgrade to the Operating System. 1.12.00 ROM builds should also reduce the "Cannot Connect" problem experienced by some customers.

You can upgrade just a Radio stack, if you extract update files, delete all .nbf files EXCEPT radio.nbf. Run update, restart. Done
will upgrading only the radio stack leave any bigstorage patches intact?

I have the XDA II (Qtek2020) and it used to work fine... But for some reason now I can't enter my contacts and my calender. And if I'm so lucky to enter, it is all ****ed up and I can't read half of it. The buttons, text and so on is simply gone!
I was sure that a hard reset would do the trick, but that did not work Now I dont know what do do. My calender and contacts is what I'm using most on my PDA. And further more my icons are missing when I e.g. go to "System" or any other menu. Does anyone know what I can do? My XDAII is totally useless...
As far as I see it my only option is to try to install a new ROM.

But I am a totally newbie in this upgrading thing... I know that I could (and I will) read a lot in this forum on updating it, but I know that it will confuse me too, cause there is a lot of opinions and a lot of threats...
I would like if someone would simply say:
* "This" is the best ROM you can install. There are no bugs and it runs perfectly! (ofcourse I want the BEST rom with the best radio too - I want all the best :wink: )
* This is how you upgrade - simply and easy described.
I need to have installed a ROM that allow me to use TT5 and does not freeze... Also have to work with bluetooth support...

How about updating to WM2005? Would that be a good idea or are there still too many bugs? I need to sync with my desktop. I've heard that WM2005 is having trouble doing that? And how about programs working on WM2005?

unless you restore your backup i dont really see how these issues could
survive a hardreset

2005 dont come with a radio stack of it's own so if one upgrade to it one get what ever radiostack one already had
1.72 is also 2003 (not SE)
my reasons for not getting later editions is
the 2003SE in english are manualy translated from chinese so it's not official and some people report issues with the transscriber and dictionary i believe
the 2005 i suspect dont use the ATI chip which mean that it's GUI is slower then earlier roms some guy did some benchs which showed that it was much slower with 2005 then with 2003 when it came to graphics
imho then 2005 is reported a bit slugish speedwise
and it dont really offer something which i need so i havent taken the ride myself
my 1.72 is working just fine

Older radio-versions can be found here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_RadioUpgrades (listed from oldest to newest). Radio 02.98.90 works fine for me, I had some issues with 03.07.90 on battery use. You can just try it out, doesnt need a hard reset.

Like in a Desktop PC you can run different Versions of OSs (Windows XP\Vista, Linux, Mac) and still change Firmware Versions of Hardware Components (Disk Drive, WLAN Chip, Soundcard) indipendently.
The Radio ROM Only affects the Radio Unit of a device, maybe affecting the battery duration time or increasing Call Quality or whatever has to do with the radio part of a phone. However it is independend from the OS.
if i try one of those radio upgrades, would it affect (for example) the SDHC patch i installed on my phone (P3300 wm6)?
any info page/link on what exactly each release of radio upgrades improves, and a how-to to install it?

I just bought a Qtek 9090 PDA on eBay for only 50 euros: good choose. Now i have WM2003 installed and both BT & Wireless connections work fine: that's ok, but i'd like to upgrade to WM6.1 as everybody here on xda-developers.
The matter is: i want to use this PDA not as everyday phone, but i planned to use it as Phone/GPS Navigator/Internet Access during my holidays across my country. (i'll buy an external antenna, of course)
Now, i've already read many discussions here at xda-developers and i know there are several versions of WM6.1 thanks to the work of explode, sun_dream and swampy395, but i still have some confusion in my mind.
In facts, by reading comments, i discovered there could be some problems using BT or WiFi. Due to the way of use i choose for my Blue Angel, it is important for me to know:
which of these ROMs is free of problems at all using BT & Wifi?
then, i have other two 'stupid' question:
- what does ExtROM stands for?
- Can i install Manilla 2D on every ROM?

The ExtRom is a set of applications that are installed during initial boot of the device (right after flashing). Originally (back in the days of WM2003), the ExtRom was a hidden, locked section of memory where vendors of the devices would put their applications in order for the end user to not have control over it. Cooks normally use the ExtRom to install apps that they cannot fit in the rom or that they do not want to include in the rom itself for a variety of reasons.
You have the option of installing the ExtRom or not, modify it... up to you really.
