HELP !!! SOS !!! Unable to Send Messages - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi,
I went on the DKToday post in this forum to get to the DKToday plugin and there also saw a couple of registry hacks to enable SMS Notification always on and also to remove the SMS Bubble. I set the same in my registry (PHM Reg Edit).
But DK Today gave me a problem as I also had PPC Profiles & also JGUI MYPHONE on the today screen. Hence had to do a Hard-Reset.
Thankfully had a backup and restored my PPC from the backup. Before restoring from the Backup, I was able to send SMS and also receive SMS but after restoring, am unable to access Messaging. I keep getting a Popup with 997:146:10
Unable to decipher what this error is. The 3 Hacks I added on to my registry were these
Try to switch bt profile using registry entry
---------------------------------------------
[[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BTProfile]
"ON"=dword:00000001
SMS Notification Always On
--------------------------
[\HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
SMSDeliveryNotify = Dword (0x000001)
To remove SMS Notification Bubble
---------------------------------
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
Create New Dword Key value to 1 "SMSNoSentMsg"
All the 3 I have reset back to the other values but still getting the error. I really need to restore from this backup only as this is my latest & greatest. Also when I did this backup, I was getting SMS and sending easily and have never encountered this error.
HELP HELP PLEASE.....ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED

I dont know what kind of tweaks are they but the best thing to do is to hard reset. yeah i know it kinda crazy to install all over again, but for me i will hard reset it. Try another help from others maybe thay can help.

Yeah, a hard reset sounds like what you need.

Phone alarm and SMS problems

Installed PhoneAlarm 1.22, used it, nice not useful for me, therefor i uninstalled it,
but since i did that whenever i send SMS messege and litte windows that used to come every time that says "MESSENGE SENT" has stopped from comming!!
How can i bring this windows back? (NOT SMS DELIVERY) but SMS SENT.
so i will know the SMS is now on the sent items folder.
Thanks.
Without sounding rude i would suggest the best place for this post is the forums over at www.pocketmax.net
you didnt understand, i uninstalled the Phonealarm.
now the SMS Send window disappeard.
i want it back.
I do understand....they are the application developer and you will get better help directly from them in their forums.......it might need a regedit to get it back.
Exactly the same for me after installing and removing on my Qtek 9090 - as well as messing up the order of Today Items, which I can't now change back (or rather can change but changes aren't effective!)
It seems that this setting writes to
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings the string value "SMSNoSentMsg" and sets it to 0 or 1 according to the checkbox.
As long as I understand, the value is not relevant - the sms sent notification is disabled by the presence of the string, not by its value.
phoneAlarm should delete the string when the box is checked, and add it when the box is unchecked.
Until it will be fixed, to get the sent notification back, delete the "SMSNoSentMsg" from the registry.
Cheers for temporarily!!
Nice one.
Now can you sort why my Today Items won't display in the right order ?
Thanks a lot.
Rick
What do you mean by right orders? and what should be the right order?
I arrange my Today Screen Items thus ;
Date, Messages, Tasks, Calendar, Spb Pocket Plus, Sprite Back-Up and Battery Bar. Since installing and deleting Phone Alarm, I can't get this order on the Today Screen. START/SETTINGS/TODAY/ITEMS and then move items up/down but Calendar (for example) moves up when I'm setting the positions, but doesn't ACTUALLY go to the position on the Today Screen. When I go back to the up/down screen it shows dropped back down. ??????
THANKS it workS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
double_ofour.
Found this fix from "tekguru" on their forum.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Today/Items
and check that the 'Order' value against each today applet is unique. The problem is caused by at least two applets sharing the same ID . Simply changed the values so that no 2 were the same and all is OK.
Still no idea why Phone Alarm changed them though !

Messages in inbox messaging invisible

The notification said I had new sms's.
The inbox status line says: Text Messages 0 items, 3 Unread.
Anybody some smart ideas?

Had the same problem, Like it or not, it was caused by Spritebackup (and other backup programs do the same thing). Are you using some backup software on your device? If so that might be the cause. These programs have trouble with the databases (when restoring / patching the backup data into the database during a restore) and sometimes (or even pretty often) screw up the databases. There is a "CleanMail.exe" tool available from Sprite backup. I'll attach it to this post but you should go to their website to read about it if you are inclined to use it. It will wipe all the mail databases completely. Do a backup before using it, just in case the backup programs were not the cause of the problem.
If the problem persists there is no way around a hard reset. Had at one time lost my SMS folder altogether and couldn't get the registry fixed, so hardreset it was for me. Luckily I keep my daily backup files for 21 days, so I found a older backup with the reg intact.
Hope it helps.
CleanMail removed MMS
Hello
I tried the CleanMail util.
After running CleanMail util, I can send an MMS to myself,
but if try to receive it, it only contains an SMS...the picture is gone.
After syncing with outlook, only have 2 message boxes:
-mail
-sms
These two seam to work, now....I can receive sms'es again.
The mms box has disappeared.

Windows Mobile SMS Problem

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so move the topic if necessary.
A few weeks back I bought an X1(Branded Dutch T-Mobile Version) and I've been having problems with the receiving of SMS'. My Today screen indicates there are new messages, eg. SMS \ MMS: 1 unread. But when I check my messages there's nothing there. I tried to see if it may be a false positive, by having a friend send me a text message, but the number did increase, and the message box was still empty. I tried reseting the rom, which obviously killed the messages, but new messages are still not getting through.
Anybody else experiencing the same problem? Anybody know what is going on? How can I recover the (invisible) messags?
Thanks a bunch
that's weird. uh, really weird. it's either YOU have a bad rom/phone software so better have it checked OR your not looking in your SMS/MMS inbox but your outlook inbox instead.

i had the same prob, someone sent me a text and the phone froze, when i turned it on had that message. the only way i found to get rid of it was to delete the message coversation with the person.
i had the same problem, only a hard reset solves the problem. after the hardreset everythink worked fine. some other people at the german xperia board got the same problem.
I tried to hard-reset to no avail. Deleting previous conversations doesn't help. Even SMS' from unknown contacts stay hidden. When I try to export my messages using PIM Backup 2.8 It shows that I have 2 'Text Messages' folders in the export root. One with the hidden(unread) messages. And one with the visible ones. When I exported the messages and reimported them, they stayed hidden. When I wrote a program to parse the PIM Backup exported file. I could see that the hidden messages get properly exported.
Any ideas?
Hearing that the German based roms have troubles too, could it be a reg setting that is wrong, something with localization? I really hate that I have a Dutch rom.
i had this problem i simply hard reset it and it was gone...if this didnt work then try reflashing the orignal rom
I just ran into the same issue.
Funny is that I did hard reset on not flashed orginall Dutch T-mobile X1 which was working good. Well now it is not :/
Tip for others looking for a quick workaround: use uiggmo light panell to read them. The only way I found so far.
I am flashing mine today. (Before I will hand it over due to case issue).

SMS problems

Hey everyone,
I've got an issue with my Dutch T-Mobile X1, my SMS messages don't show up correctly. On the SE panel it shows that there are new messages, for example 2 new sms. But when I check the inbox there is nothing new.
I updated the phone yesterday through update service in the hope that it would fix it, beforehand it (the SE panel) would for example say that there 70(!) new messages. But I fear the update didn't fix anything.
Also, messenges that I've sent show up in my inbox? What's up with that?
If I knew a screenshot-maker I could post some screens to better illustrate the problem.
I have the same problem with my X1. The Home-Screen shows one unread sms-message but my sms inbox is completely empty, also the other sms folder are empty.
I have tried the following things:
- unistalled xperia tweak software
- soft reset
- restore sms/mms data from my spb backup file
- send me a new sms and tried to delete ALL
Also I have searched in the registry for a key to change, but I haven't found one.
Could anybody help me?

--update #2
So i think it's solved..
My SW revision is R2AA006
1. I downloaded XPERIA Tweak 2.0 free software from http://www.cliffords.nu/
(watch which ver. of SW you have before downloading)
2. using tweak tool, disabled "conversation style SMS / MMS"
3. reboot
4. \o/ woot.. sent msg-s are no more in INBOX
well, I guess I didn't Google good enough
maybe this helps you

SMS ID problem on new ROM

I have just flashed to Dutty's 3.9 ROM and restored all my contacts initially with sprite backup, it did not seem to identify my new sms's with the caller ID saved in the phone untill i go furthur into TF3D which takes a long time to load, anyone have an idea on how to fix this? I tried searrching but cant seem to come up with anything!
i have subsequently deleted the contacts and restored them from the myphone service, still no luck....
edit: update from myphone seems to have cured the problem for new messages
however my messages tab is very slow to load, when wanting to reply to a message, also anyone know how to get it to go to the original windows reply window rather than the one from TF3D?

I used to face a similar problem like yours, but I've used activesync instead, and all incoming text messages/calls aren't recognized. At the time I solved the problem simply by flashing the phone with another rom (I've tried several roms and I think my phone is quite picky, there are quite a lot of roms in which it can't identify incoming texts and calls).
I am also using the original windows window for texts and here's what i did:
* hide the manila sms tab
* replace the right softkey button on the home tab to direct it to the windows default sms window. This can be done through a registry editor:
1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila in registry
2. If you don't have a String entry called LandscapeMenuRSKPath, add it.
3. Edit the value of LandscapeMenuRSKPath to read: \windows\tmail.exe
4. If you don't have a String entry called LandscapeMenuRSKText, add it.
5. Edit the LandscapeMenuRSKText value to read: SMS
6. If you don't have a string called LandscapeMenuRSKArguments, add it.
7. Edit the value of LandscapeMenuRSKArguments to read: -service "SMS"
That's it.

What ROM did you make the backup in Sprite from? Also, did you only backup your contacts with it? If not, did you do a level 1 merge when you restored it?
