Is this a Bluetooth stack? - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Found this software for somekind of bluetooth device.
Perhaps it contains i nice BT-Stack that works with the Magician, but I don't have the time to test it right now.

Bluetooth Headset Audio Gateway and Widcomm

I saw the posts about getting the Widcomm bluetooth stack on an XDA II (I loved how well it worked on an iPaq 5555) and one of the features the Widcomm stack normally offered on the 5555 was the "audio gateway" - the ability to use a bluetooth headset for regular audio throughput. Bluetooth headsets without a built in DSP don't work well for music, but they are great for spoken word stuff, like books.
My question is, does the audio gateway work with the XDA II and the Widcomm stack? I believe that Tobias is planning on adding it in his excellent Pocket Bluetooth Tools, but its been a while and I don't know if he was still planning on releasing the support. One poster somewhere else mentioned in passing that the bluetooth headset "wasn't supported" with the Widcomm stack, but I don't know if he meant the bluetooth headset for phone use or the audio gateway (or if that was even true or not).
Any ideas anyone?

Help! BT headset and BT works on XDA2 but not XDA2i

I bought a XDA2i to find my JabraBT200 is very crackly when used on it and even though my Fortuna Clip-on BT GPS will bond with it, it will not connect in the bluetooth manager area. Both these worked great with my XDA2. Is there software I can download to fix this?

Click to collapse
this is a known issue, not every BT headset can fit in for widcomm BT stack. sigh......................
Has there been any progess in sorting out Jabra 200(and others I believe) not working with xDA2i?
Mine seems to transmit audio but won't answer phone automatically or manually.
Not sure which it should do.
Any Ideas please... :?:
I had this problem after I installed Tomtom 3. I found that the tomtom bluetooth stack wasn't compatable with most bluetooth headsets. I found that if bluetooth was turned on when installing Tomtom this problem was overcome as the stack couldn't be "updated".

Definitive answer on Bluetooth and carkits

After reading and trying nearly everything I have read on these and other forums I am still unable to get my XDA II to work with my bluetooth handsfree kit, The handsfree kit is a Nokia CKW-1, I have installed Bluetooth tools and tried this route but that didnt/doent work, I am running xda2.hery.mod.a Rom 2.06.00WWE Radio 1.18.00 Protocol 1.337.38, I am more than happy with it all aprt from the fact I have to carry another phone to connect my carkit, and then end up switching sims all day long so I can use the XDA for remote desktop and then taking it out whilst I am on the move so I can take calls
Any pointers at this stage would be greatly appreciated
TIA
Orinoco
I have the exact same problem with my motorola h700 carkit!!!
I have the version of rom on qtek2020.
P.S: The headset of platronics works fine...
Plz check this forum as there are many old threads on the BT carkit issue.
The (standard) MS BT stack on Himalaya does NOT support the handsfree profile that most carkits use.
It only supports the headset (for...headsets) and serial-port profiles (for e.g. gps).
There is a Parrot carkit that can be configured to use the headset profile however.
Himalaya was one of the first devices to use the MS BT stack. Nowadays with WM5 everybody is and now they also support more profiles (incl. handsfree)
Upgrade to the WM2003SE (Second Edition) ROM from buzzdev.net. That supports "handsfree" profile as well as headset. It works just great with my Parrott bluetooth car kit, two Nokia & Motorola bluetooth ear pieces and my TomTom bluetooth GPS!
(Use WM2003SE rather than WM2005, as this will still run all your existing WM2003 applications whereas some WM2003 apps don't work on WM2005 (such as the Safecom wifi card or Tom Tom Navigator v3)
youre right if you mean the 2.20.07 (chinese translated to english) rom.
That one does support headset, handsfree and serial port.

Widcomm Desktop MS Bluetooth

I hope one of the gurus here can help me with this one:
- I have the O2 Exec, with MS BT stack
- I have the Logitech MX 5000 BT Laser Desktop (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/CA/EN,CRID=2158,CONTENTID=10776)
- this comes with a choice of the Widcomm stack(which they recommend), or you can use the MS BT stack
I have set up BT Activesync using the MS BT stack, without a hitch, but would like the extra goodies that the Widcomm stack offers.
What I want to know is:
- can I use the Logitech Widcomm stack (which requires that I disable the MS BT stack on my pc) and still set up Activesync with my Exec?
- Or, because the Exec uses MS BT, must I set up all peripherals to use MS BT to get them to communicate?
I have checked Logitech's support forum and done an extensive search here, but I can't find a definitive answer:
- if your HTC devices uses a particular BT stack, must you use that stack on your pc , as well?
Thanks in advance...
Huisie, you *should* be able to use any bluetooth stack on the desktop.
Just ansure that you have a incoming BT port set up, point Activesync to that incoming port, and set up a partnership.
Lekker, ou seun, dankie vir die help daarmee!
So, snorbaard, I can run the Widcomm or MS BT stack on the desktop, but I'm limited to the ...uh, limited...MS BT on the Exec.
Still, I believe that Widcomm doesn't do hands-free, is that right?

where is the BT manager its missing

there is no bt manager on my jasjar. i had one on my pda2k
Yes there is, as stated in the other thread. It's just different as it uses the MS stack not the Widcomm one.
how do i get the widcomm one?
