backlight problem - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

when someone calls me when my phone is in standby it turns on, is there anyway for it to go back into standby after like 1 min of not in use? =/ I learned how to turn the backlight off after 30 seconds if inactive, but I want it to go off, because when I am sleeping, blah blah I will wake up and the screens been on for hours.

not sure which rom you use but when i go into settings->system
power and advanced and set the time for when i xda2 should turn off it does just that

Need POWER/BACKLIGHT solution

ok, I am aware of the power and backlight adjustments on the Universal, and I have the power set to turn off after 2 minutes to preserve battery.
What I am looking for is some software so that I can put an icon in Pocket Plus on the Today screen so that I can toggle Power always on, and turn off after 2 minutes. Reason for this is that I often have to watch screen prices that constantly update and am getting fed up of switching by going into start, settings, power, advanced blah blah....
Anybody know of any software that can toggle this setting and/or backlight setting?

How do you turn the Phone OFF?

This is NOT a JOKE!
I have a HTC Apache.
How can I turn the phone off?
Button 1. Press to turn on and off your device or backlight.
a.When I press it, the backlight turns off, press it again turns backlight on.
b.Hold it down and it just turns the backlight off
I am downloading HTC Apache AKU 2.2 Software Update now and will install it shortly
As far as I'm awarem you can't turn them off... If you don't want to be disturbed, turn flight mode on, but I've never figured out a way to actually turn it off, short of ripping the battery out, but this might be risky on some devices. Sorry, I don't know much about the devices I don't have, and I only have a Blue Angel and a Universal...
I've not tried it on the apache, but could you try my program VJEschaton, using the option
Code:
VJEschaton -sleep

It should be able to put Intel xscale based phones to long term sleep (ie effectively switch it off).

Thanks for the infor.
Why would they make a phone without a OFF SWITCH???
In the manual it says, "Always turn off your device before perorming a soft reset or install/replace the battery..
Don't get me started on them not including the power off feature:

A short press of the standby button will put the PDA in standby. Holding it longer turns the backlight on and off.
If you hold the end call button for a few seconds, it puts the phone part in flight mode.

backlight and power management acting funny

While on battery -
backlight set to turn off in 30 seconds, and power management set to turn phone off in 1 minute. at 30 seconds, the backlight gets dim, but doesnt actually turn off (weird). At 1 minute it turns the phone off as it should.
So the backlight isnt actually turning off when it should.
next....
While plugged in -
Backlight set to 1 minute turnoff, power set to turn phone off in 2 minutes while on external power. At one minute, the backlight goes dim (not off again), and the phone never actually turns off, just stays on with a dim backlight screen.
Any ideas as to why the backlight wont turn all the way off? This just started when i flashed the GPS ROM.

Wlan Sleep Policy doenst work

Hi,
I just had a problem with my Wlan, first it wont turn off, I rebooted. Now I wonder when it will switch to 3G when screen is off.
I'm using this setting but it seems not to work.
How much time will past until it switchs? Can anyone please tell me if this standby plan is selected when the 3G will be enabled? Just until you kill the screen by pressing the power button or after e.g. 15 min or like.

[Q] Auto Wifi-off during sleep?

Is there a setting (or standalone app), that will turn off wifi after a set amount of time after the screen goes off? I know the stock system had much worse battery life if wifi was kept on, and I'm assuming the same with CM7?
Yes I know I can just turn it off manually, but I'd rather it just turn itself off after say five minutes of me pressing the power button or it turning the screen off itself, then restart wifi when I turn it back on.
Thanks
The app Wifi Keep Alive can keep it on, or turn off when screen turns off unless plugged in. But it doesn't have a timer feature.
You don't need an app to turn off wifi when the screen is off with CM7. Just go into menu/ settings/ wireless & network/ wifi settings/ press menu/ advanced/ and then change the wifi sleep policy to whichever setting you'd like.
On the stock rom wifi will turn off when the screen turns off. I think it is actually annoying.
