Can improve quality of VGA camera in XDA2 - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

I m new here. Need a guide, is there any quality to improve VGA camera in XDA2? since it has tonnes of grain.
I also see the thread that mini camera only slightly better than XDA2.
That's why I still considering to change to mini, since I am a photo camera maniac.
Very thank you if anybody can answer my confuse:
a) What s the purpose to upgrade radio version ? will it void the warranty? I still have 5 months warranty left.
b) Kindly guide me how to do that.
many thanks

XDA2i Camera worse than XDAII?

Even though the XDAIIi cam is 1.3mp the images it produces are awfull!
The upgrade from 0.3mp to 1.3mp is a big selling point for this device, and some people are making the upgrade based on this alone!
Ive taken a couple of pics for you guys to compare.
Any confirmations or comments are welcome!

Why aren't you guys more talkative?

OK bro!
From the 3 photos posted the one by XDA II is definitely the best.
Have you make sure the XDA IIi got its best setting for the resolution concerned like its ambience, contrast, saturation, gamma and sharpness?
I would like to upgarde to IIi if its available in my country but now I have second thought after seeing its camera capability. I hope when it's release it would have the camera issue resolved.
Well, it looks worse but it may just be your brightness, contrast, etc..
Hey, BTW, when did XDAII start taking photos at 480x960? Mine can only do 480X640 no matter how I tweak the settings... Did I miss something?

Well spotted!
No, that was my mistake it was only 480x640.
Thanks for the feedback guys.
I have tinkered with the settings somewhat, I tried to match them before taking the shots and have tinkered with the XDAIIi settings alone to try and improve it aswell, however no luck.
There is a 'night' settings on the IIi although it makes the pics even worse, and has white flecks all over the image!
It's such a shame, WM2003 SE is great! Integrated WiFi is awesome!
This cam really lets it down though.
I've finally made my decision:
Mines going back. It just doesn't cut it.
So then, how long before the next WM device from O2?
And what can we expect?
upgrade the ROM and see~
Have U ungrade ur ROm to i-mate's latest ROm? I realize that the camera's "nightmode" indeed remove those white flecks. But I admit my xdaII's camera (WM2003SE download from xda-developer) is nicer than the original PDA2's camera
On my PDA2,I reckon the resolution is much higher; it's hard to tell on computer screen but once U magifiy it (ZOOM in) then U will find L is L (640x480) and why we need XL 1024x640
The next concern: anyone know any patch or .cab to improve the camera spec in order to get better quality of pic? cheers~

The quality very depends on the settings and adjustments. I took 5 pics(3 indoor,2 outdoor)with my Himalaya(VGA Cam). There are too many differences which causes the adjustments. Take a look...

HTC Tytn Camera software on Prophet...

Hi all. Hope this isn't too far fetched, but supposedly, the Prophet and the Tytn share the same camera hardware. I was wondering if anyone knew if we could use the Tytn software on the Prophet, as it seems to be better in terms of features etc...
Whilst I like the new Tytn, other than the fast Samsung processor and the camera software, it diesn't have anything else I would particularly care for. does anyone have any ideas in this area?
Try CoolCamera by AtekSoft instead, it's much better than HTC's camera software.

Thanks Budadank. I had tried an earlier version of this software but wasn't overly impressed. However with version 1.13 upwards, it has made a significant improvement on my Prophet. Just ordered it and am awaiting serial key.
For others who may be interested, the Video recording is way better than the humble offering of the HTC software. 240x320 resolution AVI files (5 seconds results in 1 MB!). Large files but well worth it as they look a million times better.
Thanks again Budadank for reminding me about this software. 8)
looks like its worth trying out on my xda neo. thanks for the tip, mate

Camera? Taking Bad Pictures? help plz

i just bought my girlfriend a new cell phone and her camera takes some awsome pics and it has a flash
i know that the t mobile mda has a flash but its always on so it sucks and the pictures come out pix elated n blurry so i was wondering if their is a way to fix that? mayb a 3rd party camera program id really appreciate the help!
CoolCamera is an app that can increase quality a little bit.
And there are some registry tweaks but I never saw any difference when applying them.
Actually the MDA's camera is that bad. That's one of the reasons for which I'm getting the HTC Touch Cruise now.

Camara Quality

I have a Qtek 9100 running
IPL 2.21
SPL 2.21
GSM 2.07.10
GSM 2.21.4.1
I'm using an O2 rom.
My problem is the quality of the pictures the camara takes.
A mate has he same Qtek9100 but is running a diffrent ROM and firmware, and his pictures are a lot better. He is using a Tmobile ROM
What do I need to upgrade to improve the quality of my pictures.
Thanks for your help
Anyone know if this will help
No idea. Half the things that people have claimed improved their camera function had no effect on my phone. I've pretty much given up trying to get too much out of this aging 1.2 MP camera. It's just never good for anything but broad daylight shots of still life. C'est la vie.
Do a search on the wizard boards for camera despeckle, or camera improvement, or just camera. You may find a half dozen or more solutions, none of which is all-encompassing OR a cure-all for every phone.
Frankly, I've seen more improvement from people taking off their scratched and soiled lens covers than from any software change yet.
thanks for the reply
From the search there seems to be a tweak to improve the quality but I can't find it anywhere.
Any idea where to get if from

Sony IMX214 Cam and UMI Zero

Hi Community,
i am really new to smartphone hardware and dont have much knowledge, so sorry if my question is a bit stupid ^^
I am owning an UMI Zero with the Sony IMX214 Exmor 13 MP Camera Sensor. With the original Software this sensor produces so much noise, the pictures really aren`t good.
So i was locking for other devices ( Phone´s / Dashcams ) with exactly the same Sensor. For me it seems like that other devices handle this sensor way better than my Phone.
Also this Sensor should not be bad i`ve read. So i wonder if there is any way to tweak my cam ? I installed a Custom Rom on my Umi and it really feels like pictures are looking much better now.
Also i`ve read ssenssor specifications and saw that this sensor is able to record 4k in 30 fps. Is it possible to unlock this features somehow? Is anyone willed to help / explain me why or why not? Is it more a hardware thing like Digital Analog Conveerters which are used or OP amps which are used in hadrware? Or is there a way
that Software can improve this really much ? Maybe there is a possibility to install another camera driver to my Phone?
PS: I am really sorry if this is the wrong section ! I am pretty new to this forum, if anything is wrong pls tell me !
Thank you very much !
Greetings,
Dom
