i have two i-mate ppc + i-mate jam, while i'm using i-mate jam and clicked on "Start" then "Program" or "Settings" i heard the sound seems not complete. there is a diffrence between i-mate ppc and i-mate jam sound :?:
is it only with my device or is it normal thing?!! :roll:

I usually replace my "Hwandsw.wav" after a harreset to something more pleasant and less jarring to everyone around me (and also to make sure my i-Mate doesn't sound like all the other Pocket PCs in the office )

to every body who had a problem with "Hwandsw.wav" i have edited the wav file so it should now sound normal like in XDAII
i had the same problem, it is very small issue but still it was hitting on my nerve every time i use my JAM.

I upgraded my Imate pocketpc to WM2003SE the english version from this site.the display light has reduced by almost 20 to 30 %.
i tried to check any post to see if there is any registry value to change the brightness.is this a bug please advice

I say if you can get a hold on the display driver file of the previous os then good for you.
Anyways I have attached the file here which you can copy it to your \windows\ and then soft-reset.

You could save it in a different folder than \windows\ and redirect the registry string for the Display to that particular folder.
If have the file overwritten the older one. Just delete it and you shall get the old back. Use a file explorer that can change the attributes of a file. I use Total Commander.

I have saved this file from the original ROM of the iMate. And now when I upgraded.. honestly I do not find it any dimmer :!:
To me.. it is as bright as b4. I only wanted to help.. after all you are not compeled to use that file..
In fact I tried once to replace the ace_ddi.ddl (which is the ATI GUI chip driver) with another copy and screwed my screen :?
I tell you something.. I heard that iMate was sold once with Sony screen.. and then it was some taiwanees quality.. so which lot have you bought it from.. the 1st (Sony) or the later one.. :?:
They claim that sony one was a bit brighter screen than the other one!!

Glad you like it. PLEASE PLEASE read the ReadMe File included. Extract all the files and read the read me file.
You should copy all the files excluding the readme file into the \windows directory of your device
Once again, MAKE SURE YOU READ THE READ ME FILE FIRST

Aladin, That's a very good work. I like it very much!
And, the picture files looks much smaller than the original picture files. This help to save some space on my O2 XDA II mini.
If possible, keep them as small as possible. Also, I notice because the picture files is smaller, it is help to launch phone quicker than before.

When I press the 1,2,3......*,# button, the button change to the original button. The shape and color is different from your dial-pad skin. Is there something missing?
Call History, Speed Dial, Talk and "<--" button is OK.

by all means mate you can go ahead and change your dial skin. just download the files i've attached, find the equivalent in your \Windows directory and change them in photoshop or any graphics program you like. it's really that simple you just need to spend a bit of time on it that's all oh, and a little bit of creativity would be a bonus

Please tell me, I've been looking for this and tried your suggestion without success.
Do you mean using "Reshacker" (a windows App) to edit the tapres.dll (the dll file in my o2 mini) ?
I tried, and it did not work. I tried moving / copying the tapres.dll file to my local harddisk (on PC via activesync), so i could attempt to edit it, and the system wouldnt allow me, saying something abt ROM files cannot be copied..
could you please elaborate on your method??
I've got some dialskins copied to my /Windows dir and the only issue now is as mentioned by bros above.. ie. when i press the numeric pads, the original blue keys still shows..

I'm trying to bluejack with my M2000 running WM5. I've tryed various software but none of it works, Dose anyone know of any software that will do this? I used to be able to do it in WM2003 just by sending contacts via bluetooth.

I would love to find a good pocket pc program that could automaticly bluejack people.on my old P800 i use a program called s-man that does a constant scan for other phones and then sends a message to them over and over again

there is such a program, i've used it on my old c500 and my jasjar, it's called smurf, I forget the link, but google it and ye shall find. btw it's freeware and does auto bluejacking

You will be able to send messages AND files!
You can for example create your own "special" version 3 vcard including a photo or sound and then send it with btCrawler.
I'm also planning to implement something like a proximity mode. When a device comes in range a predefined automessage or file is sent...

Bluejacking is the practise of sending text or files to other bluetooth compatible devices that support OBEX push. Most people think it has something to do with Hijacking, but infact it's just named after the guy who came up with it named Jack. Bluejacking in not "Hijacking" or "Hacking" in any sense, you can only push, not pull.

i just bought mda compact, and i learnt how to change the sms tone. i put 10sec long wav file as the sms tone.i get upset with the notification in which it doesnt stop even if i already read n close the msg, keep running until the wav. file finish playing. is it possible to change this?
secondly, i try to use Skype with wi-fi,it works great.however the sound comes out from the loudspeaker on the back instead of normal speaker on the front. can we change this as well?

i have I-mate Jam and the real way to stop the rigtone of the msg before it is finishing is to move the sound control button on the side of the device or to increase or decrease the voice for one time

and my real problem is A2dP
Bluetooth stutters and breaks up and sounds like a jumpy cd
ALL I WANT MY BA TO DO IS....
1) stream bluetooth music using a2dp to my car radio
2) work a little faster on programms
3) stop lagging
you Guys are amazing and im not being a big ass kisser but you blokes know your beef so PLEASE can some one just take a second to give me a detailed straight forward answer or im going to pull the head from my barbie doll should i upgrade / downgrade use a different Rom or a patch if i change the OS will i need any patches,,,,, some one out there MUST have a BA doing what i want mine for so PLEASE help me....fank yoo
first find out the problem area '' hard ware or software '' by putting wm5 or wm3 then report back to me the status of ur trouble.

ok with 2003 on i dont have the slow speed problem however there are not the same ammount of applications avalible to add to the BA thats why i liked WM6 PLUS it has A2DP...

try putting xplode wm6 or pdaviet wm6 and test msg problem. "have u done the hard reset after putting the wm6????"
Definately try Xplodes WM6 ROM, I noticed it was faster for everything.

Use a registry editor and add the following to your BA registry:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/Devices
Add a new DWord: DefaultMTU with the Hex value of 2a0
Capitalization counts in these settings.

Sorry, I should have been more clear, the capitalization I was reffering to was in the DWord "DefaultMTU" 2a0 or 2A0 (Zero not Oh) is a hex number and will be fine upper or lower case.
like all the others, I recommend switching to explodes or PDAveit rom, they are quitre faster
Heres a question though. I put the same wm6 on both my own t mobile MDA and my best mates orange spv m2000 with all the same process's same version and same other bits at the end of the wizard. His runs dog slow and mine does not? Are these issues down to differing hardware?
you know bri you could be right i have had the XDA The M2000 AND the MDA3and i have to say out of them all the MDA has been the best in looks and performance in saying that the PV Rom is quality and all is good i wish i could tweek it a lill bit more and make things a lill bit smoother but its getting there
