Intellipad database backup? - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Is it possible to make backup of the database?
Because im swedish, i have made a custom database with my own words.
It would be terrible if it where to dissapear!
Where is the database of the T9 system located?

The standard T9 libraries are stored in \windows with names like "T9EnglishLdb.dll".
Maybe its sitting there too.
How did you get a good-to-use localised T9 library? Home-made?
I am looking for a Dutch language T9 library . . .

Yes, home made.
I just typed the words on it, and it saved them automaticly.
It also categorises them for the most commonly used words.
Really smart program!

There seems to be a problem with the intellipad.
After typing in words manually, it saves the word.
But after a softreset, EVERYTHING is gone!!
Does anyone know why? Is it the same on your intellipad?!

I seem to have the same problem.. It loses my custom words after soft reset... I hope i wont have to hard-reset it again... or if I do at least I won't loose them again...
Edit:
not resolved after a hard reset

Removing words from t9 dictionary?

Morning all,
Just wonder if you can help me with a quick question?
I seem to have inadvertently added odd words to my T9 dictionary.
Seems to be when I use a question mark.
Whenever I type ‘you’ now it always suggests ‘you?you’ or another example is ‘tonight’ which suggests ‘tonight?tonight’
I didn’t realise I had added these (bug??) but will be more careful in future
I wonder if anyone can suggest a way to delete words I’ve added to the dictionary?
I’m fed up of these words always taking priority over the actual word I need.
Any help appreciated
Justin
There is a way to delete ALL of them:
Settings->Personal->Input->Word Completion->Erase
(Free translation from a dutch version)
do people use the T9 with the qwerty keyboard, I personally don't see the point ???

The words still exist in auto complete after this procedure
If you look in the Windows directory there's a program called eT9MyWords.exe which let's you delete custom words. Just create a shortcut to it in your Programs. Sorted.
ooh Top Marks!
Cheers

HTC magic and xt9 ( predictive text / dictionary )

Does anyone in here know if it is possible to chance / edit / remove words from the XT9 dictinoray which is used on HTC's "keyboards" ? . I am talking about both userbased And the once's predifined by HTC.
Untouched unrooted HTC Magic.
If its not possible, does anyone know how and where i can request this feature?
i have asked this question in a couple of different forums with no luck.
unfortunately there is still no solution as far as accessing/changing word in the dictionary...still patiently waiting tho
Too bad really want it without restoring my Magic to factory defaults.
I hope they fix it.. Does anyone know where i can request this feature?
Waiting too...

Just subscribed to this thread as I also need to change/delete a lot of words in the directory.
I hope that someone will be able to fix this soon.
Cheers!
How about doing this with a ROOTED device?
OMGod!!
Ok after adding far too many useless words into the HTC keyboard dictionary when drunk, my keyboard seemed to be very slow at catching up with my typing especially. Sooooo, I decided to do a full wipe out and install a new ROM (the new European one)...
BUT!!!!...
Wait and behold, everything was wiped out APART from the words in the T9 dictionary!!! They had disappeared at first and the keypad was a amazing to use and kept up with my typing... But after a couple of reboots (no restore from nandroid or anything still clean) somehow they just show up still on there and the phone keypad is now sloooow again?!! I mean what the hell??! Has anyone had this problem?
Does this mean that maybe the dictionary is saved on the SD card (which I VERY much doubt?!) as it's the only thing that has not been wiped out...
Any ideas? Much appreciated....
ps. I'm using a Vodafone UK HTC Magic with the new European firmware (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532902)
The files listed in this thread have the dictionary words in them, but deleting them doesn't clear the dictionary. Somehow the files are recreated with the added words.

T9 doesn't save words

hello,
when i'm writing an sms and i want to add a word to my t9 dictionary, it saves the word for like 5 minutes. Then when i trie to use this word again, my phone doesn't seem to remember it...
does anyone else have this problem?
I am facing this issue too, but in my case the T9 dictionary does not save my words at all (or some of them, i don't know why). Guess it is some kind of bug in Ez Input or HTC messaging. I am not sure tho.
I too am experiencing this until I tried the attached. My saved words are still there after doing soft reset.

Hope this helps.

Possible fix to the typing lag

I'm not sure if this really fixes the problem since I'm still testing it (so far, so good).
Since I've started using a new ROM I've had the lag problem, but today I've followed a sugestion, replacing the "eT9ime.dll" file by the one from the PTG stock 1.66 ROM, wich never gave me problems (and has a better T9 behaviour for me, that was why I've used it).

Look for "eT9ime.dll". Copy it to your device and then copy it to \Windows and soft reset.

So, try to replace "eT9ime.dll" in the Windows directory by the one attached here. This worked nicely on mine (using latest Artemis ROM), but I can't guarantee it would be the same for you, so you should backup the original (or you can dump it from the ROM installer later).
Don't forget to restart the device.
So, no one else tried this?
i have 600 messges from 1 person, will this fix the loading/lag?

The typing lag while the messages are loading? I think it will help (dunno if it will solve the problem completely, but for me it helped).
Just try and report. Please save your important data before in case something goes wrong.
Hello!
I found a Reg entry that helps:
HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCMessaging
there is a entry named:
DisableCacheWhenLengthierMessage
change this value from (1) to (0).
so the cache will be enabled.
the loading lag is still there, but 70-80% less then before.
i have for example 1 conversation with 75X messages. bevore this reg-edit, the loading time was by 30-60sec before i coul´d write without typing lag.
after this tweak i cane write without typing lag in 15-20 sec. enougth time to read the message and think about it what i want write back ^_^...
still not a end solution but better than bevore.
greatz!

Wow this has actually solved it for me or so it seems. Loading doesn't get in the way of typing now, I can type the same speed as when texts are fully loaded.
Definitely a tweak worth adding, thanks a lot for that. Not tried the file from the first post

i tried looking for that regkey in the registry but i dont seem to have it (in HTCMessaging)
i'm on 1.66WWE if that makes a difference?
Do you think it would work if i add the reg key?
Excellent!
Replacing that file gave me the stock behaviour of when I'm composing a text using T9 predictive input method I can now follow the actual written text in the message box instead of the suggested words, making it easier to enter the correctly suggested word
Many thanks for the find

That was the reason why I've replaced it
But don't you notice a speed improvement also? Or is it just me? lol

wait, im confused with what everyone is talking about.
does this fix the keyboard loading lag or does it fix the lag WHILE you are typing a message (example, you type a letter and it doesnt appear until 1 second later)?
And also, I dont use T9. I type every single letter out on the keyboard. would this fix be of any use for me?

Regarding the file I've posted, it helps reducing the typing lag, not loading lag... And only if you use T9.
This Reg Entry should work an any HD2 Rom.
Here are 2 CABs with the Reg Entry:
Rebump again.

What do the two CABs contain and do?
Do they add a new string value to those who do not have them?
Seems to have helped here also, thank you!

[Q] Phone Key (T9) Keypad functions - how to order Words?

Hi all,
I'm using the Phone Pad, HTC default, Keyboard to type SMS, Mails, Searches etc, cuz i can't handle the qwertz (german) or the simple qwertz key pads. They suck to type SMS (for me)
All works fine (okay, adding the mouth of the smiley ) or ( is a little complicated but manageable).
But... there is a very unlogical order of the different T9 Words. My old Sony Ericsson ordered the words by how often i used them.
I don't need exactly this feature, but to order the words by my own would be nice.
the only accessible workaround is, that i have to add the words manually (then they exists twice).
Then they are the first words the phone suggests me. but this isn't very nice.
do you know some tips to help me with my problem?
how do you handle the sms typing stuff? do you all bought a extra keyboard app in the market??
kind regards
heady2k
I've started using Swiftkey as it does actually learn the words you type. It works well. I personally found it better the default keyboard and better than the much raved about Swype .
I can't post a link but you can find it on app brain.
is it free?
can u modify the words order?

Yes it is free. It learns the words you use most so you shouldn't need to manually edit the word order. Try it and see if it is better for you.

hmm kay, i installed it, tried it, but you only can choose qwerty/qwertz.
i haven't found a phone-pad layout. :/
