XDA2 ROM Version? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Latest available on O2 website is 1.60.00WWE is it not?
So what is 1.66.00WWE ???? Came with some XDAs that we received a couple of months ago.
We have "issues" with a 3rd party application and we have 1 unit that is 1.60 & seems problem free, so in the process of elimination..
Can you backwards flash the ROM?
Any issues with 1.66 if known?

Oh & ext ROM is 1.66.181 which is in contravention of website's "latest" version...

Hi Dave
Newer versions of the XDAII contain a different LCD display to the earlier versions. Basically the only difference between 1.60 and 1.66 is that 1.66 contains a display driver for the new LCD panel (plus one or two other small and "non-essential" items like a Cleartype tuner) and as such O2 are not releasing it for public consumption.
The next O2 release will be 1.72 which is due to be released soon and will contain drivers for both types of LCD panel.

Interesting... I currently have the 1.60.00WWE ROM on my XDA 2 and O2 informed me that the version currently available for download is 1.60.50WWE, which incorporates WM2003 Service Pack 1, plus a Java update. They could not tell me what Service Pack 1 added/fixed and also said that if I installed their later version, my phone could become locked again... Now I see that 1.72 is on the way, I think I will wait. Any idea on timing??

Hi cbrow51
All i've been told is 'not long'... tho knowing o2 that doesn't really mean much!
Sorry!

New MDA ROM version from T-Mobile Germany

T-Mobile Germany has released a new ROM version for their MDA. It brings the version number from currenty 3.13.xx to 3.15.12, dated 06/12/02.
Major changes are the integration of EUU3 and the "GPRS always online" feature already known from the latest XDA ROMs from o2.
Unfortunately the MMS client software has not yet been built into the ROM.
The SMS bug is still not fixes, so it's still needed to install the patch if you want to see the names of SMS senders.
"CSD line type" now has 4 instead of 2 entries: v32, v34, v110 and v120.
All in all I would say that this update adds less improvements than the latest XDA update did to the XDAs. On the other hand the version number is higher...
But now here comes the problem: Unfortunately T-Mobile has not yet released this version for download. I received it from someone who had it on an MDA that he just got back from repair. The radio version was also updated to version 3.17 (currently the latest version offered for download by T-Mobile germany is 3.07). I would believe that these updates will be available for download shorty, but currently they aren't yet. OK, radio update 3.17 is not that much interesting...

German O2 RUU 3.19.01

Hi,
There is a new rom out.
For german O2 customers is the new rom available on the www.o2online.de
site.
Unfortunately it does not have the wmodem app and the other 3.17.03 extra stuff.
On the first view I did not see any changes to the 3.14.16 ger version before.
Does somebody know what the changes are?
regards,
silver
have not installed it yet.
but did look at the contents:
- 'hz.exe' = homezone. tool that has something to do with monitoring your cell id
- rilgsm.dll now has 'at+creg=2' string in it. probably the RIL_GetCellTowerInfo call is now implemented
Yes, The home zone was always included. but it causes a problem with all rom versions of O2 germany that were available.
I thought the new version does not have this problem but it is still no solved.
regards,
Silver

Official (not beta) version ROM 1.72 for T-Mobile MDA II

Somebody knows, whether new official (not beta) version ROM 1.72 for T-Mobile MDA II has appeared?
:?
were all waiting
In the meantime I upgraded to the Qtek 1.72 (at leats Radio & OS) I custom build a Extended Rom that fulfills my needs AND had the NL T-Mobile settings in it
Bluetooth & batterylife are the main benefits
English Customization
I have an I-Mate that I just received 8/3, and have successfully flashed to ROM version 1.72 from Club I-Mate. The question I have goes towards a 2nd, ~6 meg file that I was also supposed to flash on to my I-Mate. Does anyone know what THAT update is supposed to do? I've posted the same question in the Club I-Mate forums, but have not received an answer after two or three days.
The reason I am asking is because my I-Mate seems to be working just fine without the 2nd update, though it does seem to be going through charges quickly, and its radio (phone) reception is poorer that the original XDA I Was using.
Thanks for any information you can provide.

Orange ext rom from device that does not reset itself needed

we have a problem with a whole bunch of orange m1000 s that hard reset themselves every few days - I have a feeling its in the extended rom so am looking for an orange customer - pref uk who can post there extended rom here
or here----->>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=93851#93851
Charlie its not the software, its a problem with the main rom code, we have the same problem with some of the units at work, contacted orange and they say it was fixed in a later version of the rom. will post it when i get it.
Which ROM version are you using?
I am currently using 2.02t that has been customised for Orange UK and it is working perfectly, no resets or anything. If you want to stay with official ROMs, then the latest Orange UK version is either 1.66.200 (non MMS) or 1.66.230 (with MMS). They are both available on the Orange website.
Fin
If you say so
as I say I have had a replacement unit and all is ok - but I can tell you that I upgraded my main rom and radio rom and fault still occured - the only thing not changed in software was extended rom - you take from that what you will - I'll leave it alone and enjoy my working unit
It looks like you can't access ROM's anymore on the Orange website.
Can someone post the roms here?

Findus,
can you post your customised 2.02t roms here as I would like to do a comparison of the roms for both wm2003 and wm2003SE.
I have currently loaded on my M1000
Op ver 3.66.1.200
ROM 1.66.00WWE
ROM Date 02/20/04
Radio Version 1.10.00
Protocol Version 1337.18
ExtROM 1.66.200
Like I say in another post you can't get roms from the Orange WEB or Customer services

I get my M5000 TOMORROW :) - Which ROM tho?

Im going to be using an O2 simcard in it, and I have all the relevant unlock utils etc.
Now Ive downloaded the latest O2 ROM to flash with, but is this the best one to use?
I will be soft resetting before customisation, and opening up the EXT Rom anyway, so not fussed about it being O2 specifically.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Oh, Id like it to be similar to the O2 install, IE a single EXE. Dont really want to mess with memory addresses, umpteen utils and the like etc
THANKS
Got a O2 Exec with the latest O2 ROM on it till two days ago !
The only thing I can say is try Ivan or Helmi's ROMs. They can be set up really safely and easily. The great advantage as well is that your PDA will be a lot quicket to react and the new AKU has really been improved compared to the old one from O2. I mean old like really old, don't support ad2p for example.
None left Im afraid, all the ROMs have been downloaded already m8!
Where can I get the latest O2 ROM from then.
The version I downloaded was v1.13.188
Any other O2 ones newer than that?
Thanks
The rom I have is 1.30.162
Downloadable from http://www.my-xda.com/xdaExecSoftware.jsp
But it's from april 2006. So your probably better of updating to aku 3.x
Trying to update my exec to 3.5 soon.
