Is there a T-Mobile PPC2003 Upgrade .exe from the Kitchen? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

I have a T-Mobile PPC XDA (PW10A1) with ROM version 3.17.03 ENG (from the Kitchen), dated 05/15/03, and Radio version of 6.18.00. I would really like to upgrade to the 2003. But because I used the Kitchen's version, I can't upgrade to the official T-Mobile 2003 version. Unfortunately, I am not that knowledgeable to cook the ROM, so I used the executable file last time. Is there a 2003 XDA upgrade in an executable file? Where can I get it? Thank you.

select the base of your cooked ROM to be any 4.0x version ftom any kitchen (the latest is 4.01.16) and select the ROM file to be .exe ... that's it

t-mobile?
Is rom version 4.01.16 exactly the same as A 30.09 from ATT? I thought that A 30.09 is the last ver avaiable but with this "strange, faded system sounds" problem I want to upgrade and get rid of it ASAP.

ROM upgrade in Australia

I just want WM2003 on my XDA. I tried installing 4.00.05 but got the white screen of death. Does anyone know if the Seimens SX56 ROM will work on my phone? I plan not to **** with the radio stack.
Just want a O/S that's newer and not as buggy as the original 3.21 that I had.
I miss my working XDA, it's been 2 long weeks and I finally get my MMC card back so I can flash.
Anyone in Australia got 4.00.05 working or WM2003? Which version you running if so?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
you didn't tell what's your device type and how the 4.00.05 failed.
I'm not sure the MMC can be used instead of SD card, but if yes, then i may advice you to cook a new 4.00.05 ROM at yorch.net and select the .nbf file method. move the file to your MMC card using the XDAtools and flash your xda through the boot loader.
good luck.
My device type was a:
PW10A
3.20.06 ENG (ROM)
3.21 (Radio)
But after trying to install with an EXE self installer became:
G32S54
4.00.05 (ROM)
R4.21.00 (Radio)
One thing I have worked out about the EXE self installers is that they will extract a NBF file to a directory, in C:\Program Files\Programme A\English
so therefore, whichever version you download in a self extracting file contains the NBF file that's required.

The Radio part shouldn't be affected by this upgrade!.
4.00.05 works just fine. The 4.01.00 and AT&T release ROM are even better (except for the stupid noise attenuation everyone's working to try and defeat).
Never(!) use the .exe method for upgrade, you have a much greater chance of it screwing your XDA. Also, according to your post you weren't messing with the radio, but by using the .exe upgrade you have inadvertantly upgraded the radio. 4.21 is the same version as O2 released for Australia, but I'm not quite sure if you're running the T-Mobile version now? As far as I know you can screw up upgrading your ROM as much as you like using the SD method because you can always whack the SD back in and start again, the bootloader is intact and the radio is intact.
I guess if you use the .exe update method from your manufacturer's release, at least you'll have some recourse in that you were only following what they said to do for the upgrade and they will probably fix it.
Use the SD upgrade method to fix your current problem, and you may need to use the Wallaby patch to do that. Good luck.

Use A.30.09, it's the only release version out there. All other versions are beta and have their problems. The only headache with A.30.09 is volume attenuation, but either soon we'll have a fix, or soon another manfucturer will make a release public so we can switch over (hopefully) without that annoyance.
Howdy,
Where can I get ROM A.30.09 from?

Thanks heaps for that! The upgrade worked perfect.
You were right about the volume issue becoming annoying!
Which Radio Stack is the best to use in Australia?
Howdy,
Another quick question. Which Radio Stack is the better one to use? The QTek 1010 Radio Stack v3.25.01 (32S54) or the O2 XDA Radio Stack v4.21 (32S54)?

Sorry for late reply. Dunno why nobody has replied to you yet.
I don't know if you can get a french version of ROM, but the one in English released by ATT for Siemens SX56 (A.30.09 ENG) works very good. I upgraded my Qtek 1010 from version 3.14 to wm2003 several versions cooked in Jeff's kitchen but I have so far found this to be the most stable and convenient. Not only that, many bugs in the earlier versions of wm2003 are fixed. (Multiple Reset Notification bug still exists but it can be handled by scarybear software available free at http://www.scarybearsoftware.com
You can get it if you follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=5623&highlight=qtek+wm2003
I discovered that the Activesync method to flash this ROM does not work. The Program A just does not run. I used SD card method. It works.
The ATT release comes with ROM upgrade and Radio Upgrade files. If you are not having any problems with your present radio, never attempt to upgrade the Radio Stack. You can find enough dead devices if you browse through this forum.
Somewhere I read in this forum that the NK.NBF file can be extracted from the downloaded file, however I could not figure out how. I ran the application and quit before it started to flash the device. You can find the NK.NBF file in c:\Program Files\SX56 Upgrade*\...\english\ folder.
You can get the .nbf file out by just opening the .exe file with winzip. At least that's how I did it
Perhaps it can be done with winzip. I use Ultimate Zip and it does not allow it
i just change the extention from exe to zip and the file acts like any other zip file

Latest radio and ROM for T-Mobile

Hello,
My current version is 4.00.16 for ROM and 6.24.00 for Radio. Is there any updated versions available? If yes then is it possible to get the list of changes/bug fixes in them to figure out wether upgrade worth it or not.
Thanks,
G
The latest update from TMO (not official tho) is ROM 4.01.00 and RSU 6.24.01 ... you can cook the ROM at http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/ and you can get the RSU within this exe ftp://tmobile:[email protected]:21 but it contains both ROM and RSU ... so you may start with this exe then install your cooked ROM if the original is not good enough.
Good luck ...

Upgrade to ppc2003

I have an XDA1 through O2. I live in UK and have a monthly contract with O2.
(ROM 3.17.03 ENG Radio 4.21.00)
I have upgraded to the latest ROM available on the O2 internet site, but was wondering if they are to release a PPC2003 ROM upgrade. Does anyone know?
If not is there a stable ROM available that I could use?
Do I also have to upgrade the Radio Stack?
Thanks for any advice.
there is no official WM2003 from O2, if ur RSU 4.21 is working fine do NOT touch it!! ... read quite well in this forum then cook ur own ROM from the kitchen here ... TMO 4.01.00 is so good and stable.
Thanks. Not cooked a ROM before. Is this easy? Is there a ROM available that I could just download and install?
Thanks again
Yes!! ... it's so easy as long as you know what you are doing
Go to this page http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/ select the type and base of your new ROM (WM2003 4.01.00) ... keep checking/unchecking additional s/w but keep the top gauge in green.
Select the type of your ROM ... exe is easier but .nbf with SD card is safer
download the exe file (~17 MB) and connect your device to the cradle and sync with power connected ... run the exe from the PC
enjoy

Latest ROM & Radio upgrade for Wallaby

Dear all,
This is the latest upgrade for the Wallaby device XDA I (since there will be no WM2003SE supported anymore)
The ROM version is A.30.09 ENG Siemens
Special thanks to kucuso (http://forum.xda-developers.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=15393)
he sent me the ROM file so I can upload it to my server
Thanks kucuso
The file contains the ORIGINAL A.30.09 along with the correct RADIO upgrade
Download it from here:
http://64.41.101.116/SX56_WM2003_Update.exe

Or its just for the SX56 Siemens only ?
The ROM version is A.30.09 ENG Siemens
Thank you for your input, but.... is this the not same Rom that is already for some time available in Lumpistefan's beautiful kitchen???

Should be the same one. But it is the original file, and it includes the Radio stack. (that is useless for 900/1800 MHz devices....)

It is so old for year 2005!
All of us have this version in early of 2004! it was on Siemens website.
Happy New year !
cgigate I know its too old, but its the original Siemens A.30.09 ROM, which is NO LONGER available on Siemens website !!!!
I consider this ROM is much better than the T-Mobile one's, since it has very few bugs compared to T-Mobile's ROM
and since there is no WM2003SE for XDA ,, then this ROM is the latest for this device!
Sorry guys if I did repeat myself
uncompatible version
i downloaded the file and while trying to upgrade it gave me an error that the model is incompatible.
if i try to flash it will it work?
Is this PWA10B1 only (The ROM, i know that the radio wont work)?
