Pin 22 == Pin 21 ?

Hello,
on my XDA I the Pin 22 is broken (charger Pin).
Is the Pin 21 the same, so I can modify my USB cable to use this pin instead of 22 ?
Greetings

Taking a look at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/Connectors i think this should work.....

Very helpfull site

miniUSB connector?

Hey ppl
I've just broke my bottom connector for the second time - by using a car plug. This connector is so weak...
I thought of resoldering it with a miniUSB connector, has anyone tried it? It would be better IMHO.

wallaby and himalaya share connector as i'm using my wallaby cradle
so guess if you wire it to a miniusb it would work just fine too
Thanks, good man
I've also found this article in Wiki
OK, as for now I have resoldered my connector (again...). But - one pin is lost. D+. So, I can charge it, but not synchronize
So, I have to either find a new connector, or mount this miniUSB connector.

Modifying XDA II car charger

Hello,
In a previous posting I requested help in identifying a problem with main/ car charging of my XDA II but apparently it is a new problem with no straightforward diagnosis and solution!
Briefly the problem is that my XDA charges and synchronizes through computer but not through main or car charger. Now I am thinking of rewiring one of my two car chargers so that they can charge the XDA II as if it is connected to computer's USB.
What alteration should I do or simply what wires should I connect to pins (which pins?) to make such charger?
Shall appreciate assistance.
Thanks.
On the USB cable it's 1st pin (VDD) and the 4th pin (or 5th on some cables) - GND.

Thanks for your input. What pin sequence are you following? If I am right, normally it is counted from left to right (when you are viewing bottom connectors with screen faciing upward!)

Thanks for your link.
Since the standard car charger has only two wires, should I short 19-22 (to +ve) and 15, 17, 18 (to -ve)? or conneting any one of 19-22 should be OK?
Shall this then simulate the condition as if it charging through USB?
What potential should be at the out-put of car charger (if we are charging XDA II)? 5V or 6V?
Regards
You've completely screwed it
You can make a generic cable, for charging and USB connection this way:
data cables (USB+ and USB-, take them from google which one is which) connect to UDC+ and UDC- (as shown on schematics linked by Rudegar).
Then connect V+ from USB Vcc to USB_VDD and to one of 20-22 pins. The last one, ground connect to one of the 16-18 pins. That's it. It will charge and synchronize your Hima.

HTC 3-in-1 USB adapter

I just bought the HTC 3-in-1 adaptor from ShopBrando HK. I am using it in the car with the Brodit holder to have both charger and 3.5 mm for the car stereo aux input. I am modifying the holder (removing the charger pin for the adaptor 11 pin).
The problem is that the adaptor's wire is too short. I want to hide the adaptor somewhere in the car and a longer wire is needed.
I am thinkng about
a) Use and extension wire ( if there is any) Is there an extension cable (male to female -11 pin usb) ???
b) Cut and extend the lenght of the wire.
What is the wire used?? If I cut the wire to extent it, what kind of wire should i ask for?
Thank you
This is exactly the same problem I am facing. Can't find a ExtUSB Male to Female extension. But I would be up for trying to extend the cable if I could buy some. Hopefully someone will answer.

Just clip off 1/2 inch and take the sample with you to the store to show the sales people. At the same time, you should get the proper connecters to splice the wires together.
Does anyone really need to extend all 11 pins for both audio and power, or just power, or just audio?

USB Charger cable ID pin resistor - need help from someone with a multimeter

Hey guys,
As we know Atom doesn't charge with other chargers while it's on, unless you hack a cable to connect miniusb ID pin to gnd.
I've lost my charger. Does anybody know or can test to see the resistance value of the ID pin? Some call it 'pin 4' on mini-usb, but actually it doesn't have a number and the next pin is numbered 4
The ID pin may be directly connected to GND, or may have a resistor between gnd. I need to know it to make/find a more original-like cable.
Also, does anybody know how HP rw68xx handles this with a charger with unpluggable usb cable? Does it require using a special cable with modified mini usb socket for wall charger? Cause there is no equivalent pin for the ID pin, on a standard usb socket, so probably there is no identification function on the charger.
Edit:
I'll try to locate a working cable / usb-miniusb adapter on dealextreme, if you know a specific item which should work, that would be even better.
Thanks
